Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
DayClan was peaceful business as usual, outsiders were few and far between due to the cold climate, freshkill was low, but not critical. That is until Harvestcharm strode in with an apprentice aged tom at his side. The apprentice smelled strongly of WinterClan, a horrid scent for DayClan cats. WinterClan had invaded their camp, injured their warriors in a quick ambush, seizing their kits and a queen. They had even taken another DayClan queen prisoner moons earlier, they were an untrustworthy clan.
Lionpaw was a bright orange tom with a mane of golden fur around his neck and chest, unusual colors for a WinterClan cat. Most notable was his bright white right paw shining in a white bengal pattern and his marigold eyes. He smiled, an intimidated, but hopeful expression, "Hi everyone," He said dipping his head when he entered camp, "My name is Lionpaw, after my father, Lionwhisper. I've come old enough now to walk down the mountain back to where I was born, you might know my mother, her name was Sweetiepeach, a warrior here before she was kidnapped by WinterClan warriors." He clearly resembled his father the most, but there was no mistaking those marigold eyes or white bengal paw as belonging to anyone else, but Sweetiepeach.
Tigerlily's head was already raised the moment Lionpaw had walked in. Upon hearing the name Sweetiepeach her ice blue eyes shined with interest. Turning to Snowthorn she smiled, "Interesting," She whispered to him. Since losing her leadership to Goldenstar she had been made Immortal Council member. However that made things difficult for Snowthorn who she had promised deputyship to. It felt... Hollow. She thought it was the loss, but she had soon realized it was the fact that there was no excuse to hangout with Snowthorn anymore. Not without making it obvious that she wanted to be with him because she loved him. But it was the same old thing, afraid that he wouldn't like her back or maybe find someone prettier than her down the line to hunt after. But maybe a new scheme could bring them together, another excuse to bring her closer to him.
Mysteryleaf hated to admit that she had been keeping an eye on the camp entrance. Waiting for her mother to show back up, and answer for why she left all her newborns in her nest after the voting had concluded.
She had returned from a patrol and was casting one such gaze, when she jumped to her paws at the smell of WinterClan. She moved closer, and her ears pricked forward eyes widening as the tom spoke. Lionpaw, Lionwhisper.
Her heart went into her throat when he said the name that confirmed it.
"You're one of Sweetiepeach's kits." Mysteryleaf whispered partially to herself, she hurried over immediately. "What's happened? Have you escaped WinterClan? Is Sweetiepeach all right?" She asked, voice a little frantic as she spoke, having to resist the urge to rush in and straight up embrace the little tom. The first connection to her best friend in moons.

"Very," Snowthorn agreed under his breath as his eyes lasered in on the apprentice. While he had enjoyed Sweetiepeach's absence in the clan, the Imperial had deeply missed the opportunity to ruin her kits' lives. Seeing Lionpaw now and the likeness he shared with his mother served as a reminder of the humiliation he'd once experienced. Of having to apologize to half-blood kits under the threat of blackmail. "I wonder if he plans to stay," he added with a glance at Tigerlily.
He wasn't entirely sure why the she-cat chose to be around him anymore. After their failed attempt at leading DayClan, there wasn't much to be gained in staying acquainted, at least on her end. He didn't mind her company though. They had a lot in common and she was one of the only cats that knew what he was and liked it. Their companionship did make him worry what with their closeness raising some suspicion among his clanmates, but he hoped that would die down once they realized that Tigerlily wasn't Flamingstar's puppet.
Mysteryleaf's sudden appearance almost made him gag, but he enjoyed her frantic tone. The questions she asked made his ears flick in interest and he waited intently for Lionpaw's answer. Yes, how is mommy dearest?
His throat felt tight thinking back to his new guardian, Dottymask. How she told him that his parents were cowards who abandoned him and the clan. He knew she would never leave him and his siblings, she repeated that promise to him too many times that she would never leave. Something happened to her even if WinterClan didn't believe it, but maybe DayClan would.
"The clan says my mother left, but I don't believe them. She would never abandon me or my siblings, I think something awful must have happened to her. And my father, he did leave soon after he failed Wintrystar's orders to kill a kit. Once I became an apprentice I learned the clans territory, how to leave and left. So now I'm here because I know WinterClan's dangerous," Lionpaw explained, shuffling his paws.
Tigerlily's mind was agitated at the thought of Snowthorn. What if some she-cat up and took him instead of her? What if she waited too long, but also what if shew as too fast about it, he wanted a lady who wasn't under suspicion. She just needed a proper chance, one that couldn't be met with a no like the first time they met, a situation she could control.
Hearing Lionpaw her eyes rounded, this was the moment. "This is sudden, but I think it would be in our best interest to be mates. Think about it, Lionpaw's the great grandson of Glowstar, us taking him in out of the kindness of our hearts. It's great publicity, would boost both our statuses out of being suspected all the time by our clan mates. Not to mention there's just something... Mm. Off? I suspect he'll be more useful than we can anticipate. What do you say, Snowthorn? I'll only accept an I do," She purred, her words were hot enough to melt anyone's concerns, it was a disarming trait about her.
Mysteryleaf’s ears flattened. “Well considering they were willing to kidnap you and your mother, Sweetiepeach must’ve learned some terrible truth or something.” She muttered.
She moved over resting her tail on his shoulder. “Don’t worry, your concerns won’t go ignored. Your mother was a good warrior for DayClan!” The black she cat meowed lightly. “I was a good friend of hers, stick with me and you’ll be just fine.” She said lightly trying to cheer him up.

"I think something awful must have happened to her."
A laugh nearly tore from his throat before he could stop it, but he knew himself well enough to suspect such a reaction and cover it up. Even so, the urge to prance around the camp in glee or to mock any grief Mysteryleaf might be feeling was much harder to contain. 'One can only hope she's dead, or dying,' Snowthorn thought with a sigh. More importantly, Lionpaw did sound like he intended to stay in DayClan and that was the icing on the cake. The memory of Sweetiepeach chasing Tigerlily off their border moons ago flickered in his mind, and he wondered if the she-cat would be interested in torturing the little fluffball too.
"This is sudden, but I think it would be in our best interest to be mates."
"Hmm?" he hummed, turning to Tigerlily before the words had fully registered in his mind. "Wait, what!?" Shock and confusion was evident in the response he hadn't intended on giving. He just couldn't believe what he was hearing. Were cats this spontaneous in NightClan? He had no idea. Yet, he wasn't against the suggestion at all. Being mates was a smart move on their part and it would give them a reason to get closer to Lionpaw, but he hadn't realized how determined she was. Snowthorn had been willing to mate with Sweetiepeach to boost his status in the clan, but he hadn't pegged Tigerlily as one to do the same. Because that's what this all was--a business plan. She couldn't possibly love him and he... Well, he wasn't sure what he felt, but now that he was forced to face it head on...
"I suppose that you're right. If you're willing to, then I'll accept," he spoke carefully, trying to make up for his initial reaction. "I do." Reluctantly, he turned back to the WinterClan runaway, his skin uncomfortably hot beneath his white fur. "Maybe you should lead on this one. I don't think I'll get to finish a sentence next to her," he said with a subtle gesture at Mysteryleaf.
Lionpaw nodded, for the first time it seemed someone was taking his concerns seriously and rather quickly too. "You knew her?" He exclaimed, "What was she-"
"You poor dear," Tigerlily cooed as she approached Lionpaw, "I can't fathom my aunt ever abandoning her kits, but as her niece I can promise to look out for you, keep you safe, introduce you to family. I'm Tigerlily, by the way.," She said, her icy gaze latching onto his fiery eyes, only a small glitter of interest coming from the apprentice. Everyone who came to DayClan had some kind of interest, if his wasn't family. Her mind circulated to WinterClan culture, rummaging her brain for any information that could lure the tom in before hitting it. "Snowthorn and I would love to take you in, we're both Imperial status of the clan, the highest you can be. We would love to raise you to that same standard. Plus as immortal council member, the advisor of DayClan, I'm well versed in the DayClan's culture, show you the ropes."
"Really?" Lionpaw said with interest. He didn't have any other background to go off of except for WinterClan. In WinterClan status was everything, something you couldn't obtain, but had to be born into. Being able to climb to Imperial status intrigued him beyond most cats temptations. "Thank-you everyone," He said dipping his head before rising to meet Tigerlily and Snowthorn's gaze, "I'd love to learn more about my family though so I think it's best I stay with Tigerlily."
Tigerlily almost smirked, she knew she had him at the temptation of social status, not family. Which meant he had a manipulative trait just like her and Snowthorn. Unfortunate for her little cousin his scheming mind would have to ripped open if he didn't start sharing his true intentions. Today was shaping up to be a pretty lovely afternoon, married, taking in their first kit, what else could top it?
"Thanks for volunteering Mysteryleaf, but I Snowthorn and I have it from here," Tigerlily purred to her.
Mysteryleaf bristled, "Sorry, Snowthorn lost any right to father Sweetiepeach's kits when he exposed with a foxheart he was." She said. "You might be worthy to raise him but Snowthorn shouldn't even LOOK at him."
She turned to Lionpaw, "Tigerlily might be an imperial but she's tainted by him," she looked at Snowthorn. "He might have the pretty title and pretty looks but hes ROTTEN to the core. He showed that when he burst out at your mother after you were born. If Tigerlily's with him you'd be better off with someone else. I may not be an imperial but I am a socialite, and I would do you right." The black she cat said

Snowthorn smiled at Lionpaw’s answer, happy to hear him accept Tigerlily’s offer and the more obvious choice presented to him. He was unsurprised that Mysteryleaf hadn’t backed down, but to insult him so openly was just annoying. “I’m sorry you feel that way, Mysteryleaf. If Lionwhisper hadn’t still been in the picture than maybe things would have been different, but Sweetiepeach and I agreed to part ways after her kitting and saw to it to remain civil around each other thereafter. The fact that you still hold a grudge against me proves how loyal a friend you were to her, but it only creates unnecessary tension between us and the clan,” he said with a practiced air of remorse. “It is clear though that you need time to... collect yourself and your emotions. I’m not sure the added effort of taking in Lionpaw would be good for you until you’re more stable.”
"I will keep a good eye on Lionpaw then," Tigerlily said instantly. In truth she really had no background knowledge of how Snowthorn and Sweetiepeach's relationship ended. However she trusted Snowthorn more than Mysteryleaf, whatever happened was in the past as far as she was concerned.
Lionpaw immediately looked confused, his head turning back and forth to face each of the adults as they spoke. He didn't know who to trust, but just like in WinterClan it didn't matter so long as he obtained his goal at the end of the day. One thing did poke out in his mind though, "Why would Snowthorn have any reason not to like me?"
His mother never talked to him about Snowthorn, there wasn't any reason to. He was a kid after all, in his mind his mother had only been with his father, soul mates from the start.
"I don't know much about what happened between Sweetiepeach and Snowthorn, but I do know that as my mate he has a right to raise Lionpaw with me. And I have a right as family to care for my little cousin. I won't back down from that," Tigerlily said.
Harvestcharm was still there in the background since walking Lionpaw into camp. Normally a cat would walk away when this kind of drama arises. But it had been a pretty anti-climatic leafbare for him, this was the kind of quality entertainment he enjoyed.
Mysteryleaf curled her lip at Snowthorn. "Parted ways, that's a cute way of putting spitting at a queen and her newborn kits." She hissed, ears flattening.
She turned to Tigerlily stepping up and drawing herself up fully. Her mother was a big cat, and though Mysteryleaf had been the runt of her litter she was still a decently sized cat, and add in her fluffy coat to her mass she would make an imposing figure. "Tigerlily if you insist on letting the cat whom Sweetiepeach swore would never go near her kits, then I'm sorry but you clearly don't have Lionpaw's best interest at heart." Her tail lashed.
She turned her gaze to Lionpaw and then looked at Snowthorn stepping past Tigerlily to approach him. "And it's not a matter of simple disagreement. I saw the look you gave those kits, I've seen it. A look that you wished they were dead. I heard how Sweetiepeach threw you out of the nursery. There was nothing civil what went down the day they were born."
Mysteryleaf sneered. "Oh, you'll put on your saccharine smiles and pretty face but it's all a bunch of lies. You're a manipulative piece of fox dung, and I will be damned if I let you near Sweetiepeach's son. There are other imperials in this clan besides the pair of you, and if you think your class alone will get you want. If I need to I can go to them to have you two overruled." She hissed. "You don't get your way this time Snowthorn. So I suggest you ditch your little fantasy of controlling Sweetiepeach's son."
She turned to Lionpaw, and her gaze softened. "Listen to me. Sweetiepeach loved you so much, she wanted the best for you. If she never mentioned Snowthorn it was because she thought he would be a non issue. And in Winterclan he would've been. He'd have no power there. But here, know he's lying. And if Tigerlily is supporting him she's lying too. Snowthorn is mad that Sweetiepeach wasn't the perfect little trophy for him, and he wants to hurt you. From the moment you were born. I know I was there. So, how bout you and I go find Goldenstar and we can work something out, okay?" She suggested.
Even as she spoke, there was a hint of desperation to her mew, like how when Snowthorn had approached Sweetiepeach he'd done it when few cats had been around. Few cats to overhear their arguing, so it was easy for Snowthorn to pretend it had been civil. Pretend he was worthy of the imperial status he held. Once again, few cats were around. Few imperials at least. And they were the ones who could shut him down instantly.
If Mysteryleaf could just get Lionpaw to take this to Goldenstar there was a chance. Tigerlily was on the immortal council, but if Goldenstar was the good mother she claimed to be to Mysteryleaf's half siblings. Perhaps she at least wouldn't dismiss Mysteryleaf's concerns

“Sweetiepeach’s pregnancy surprised us both and I admit that I didn’t handle the situation as well as I could have, but I would never wish death upon any kits,” Snowthorn replied, acting quite offended at the accusation. “But I know nothing I say will change your mind. You have misconstrued the details of that night and have let your emotions blind your judgement. You accuse me of being a fox-hearted liar over one disagreement I had moons ago, when you don’t even know the full story.”
“Now, Tigerlily is on the Immortal Council, she’s proven herself a worthy asset to our clan. She’s a great leader, intelligent, and compassionate. She’s more than capable to care for Lionpaw and if she wants my help then so be it. We are mates and whatever is in her best interest is in mine. It’s not a matter of me wanting to control anyone as it has never been. I only want what’s best for DayClan and our clanmates. If he wants to be taken in by us, then that’s his choice and we should respect it either way.”
He gave Lionpaw a reassuring nod. “If you want to change your mind, you can. We were only trying to help.”
His acting was so good, it was what had tipped Mysteryleaf off that something was off about the tom. He was too put together, never a hair out of place, and when Sweetiepeach had started dating him. While Sweetiepeach had been happy, Mysteryleaf had hung back just watching. Because she knew, she knew.
Now, with Tigerlily's insistence on how she was 'related' to them, it was all too familiar to Mysteryleaf. Because, it screamed every bit of manipulation that had driven Snowthorn to try and get with Sweetiepeach in the first place, until he realized she wasn't the perfect little trophy he wanted.
It was a shame Tigerlily had fallen for it, clearly hook line and sinker. Mysteryleaf hoped she'd realize her error and find someone who actually cared for her, she deserved better.
But Lionpaw was the priority.
Mysteryleaf needed to put her paw down. "We're done talking," She turned away, tail flicking past his nose, missing it by a mere whisker as she marched over to Lionpaw. "We're going to Goldenstar to discuss this. I don't trust Snowthorn anywhere near Sweetiepeach's kits, and you deserve better."
Tigerlily slowly moved Lionpaw closer to her as Mysteryleaf began to unravel. If she knew the full story of what happened between Snowthorn and Sweetiepeach the night the kits were born she would be impressed. For as long as she observed Snowthorn he always appeared as a manipulative tom who spent more time scheming than acting. To see such a performance out of Mysteryleaf seemed like lunacy, uncalled for. The thought of Snwothorn doing anything dreadful enough to warrant such a reaction didn't seem possible. So instead Mysteryleaf only appeared insane the more she rattled on. Truthfully she didn't even have any attachment for Lionpaw, but upon seeing Mysteryleaf's reaction she had the instinctive reaction to pull him closer to her for safety.
Instead though Mysteryleaf pressed on, Lionpaw's marigold eyes growing wide with every word she spoke. The last few weeks had changed his entire life. His father was being called a traitor, his mother was being called a run away. He was told... His mind thought back to the cat with the dotted mask, but he turned his mind off last second from letting it wander, he didn't want to think about her. All he knew was he didn't want anyone telling him who would raise him anymore.
"My mom loved my dad, she would never be with any other tom!" Lionpaw countered with far more animosity towards Mysteryleaf than was necessary. But after all the days of WinterClan calling his mother horrible names it had built up to this one moment of defending her honor. She had been called a lot of things, but he was not going to let it fly that his mother was loyal to anyone, but Lionwhisper. "I'm going to stay with my imperial family, not a socialite, I don't need anyone else bad mouthing my family," He said sternly, but last moment awoke from his anger to realize how harsh he was sounding. He hadn't meant to come off as defensive as he had. He especially had not wanted to talk down to anyone, but that was exactly what he did to Mysteryleaf. His ears flattened slightly in realization of what he said, but before he could say anything to make up for it Tigerlily was already talking for him.
"I have been patient with you Mysteryleaf, I have not judged or questioned what your role is with Sweetiepeach. But I think you have said just about enough. If you're going to talk as freely as you have, insulting clan mates, making accusations with no proof, then Lionpaw is better off with us. Not a warrior who brings others down in an effort to make herself stand taller. Lionpaw belongs to Snowthorn and I and I don't want to hear another word about it," Tigerlily spoke sternly to the she-cat, "I understand your mother abandoned you and your siblings, that she has brought shame to you and your family. But that does not mean you should start putting all your hatred onto me or my mate."
Mysteryleaf's eyes widened as Lionpaw spoke, her ears drooping. "No! That wasn't what I-" She trailed off as Tigerlily spoke, and when she said the words 'Lionpaw belongs to Snowthorn and I.'
'Lionpaw belongs to Snowthorn. Lionpaw belongs to Snowthorn. Lionpaw belongs to Snowthorn.'
The words on top of the comments about her mother, and listening to Tigerlily spew these hurtful comments about her and her family. Shame?! Crimsonrose never brought shame. She was a proud warrior. A mighty warrior! She would've been here if Mysteryleaf had been stronger.
If she'd been strong like Elyon.
Elyon who ripped eyes from cats heads. Elyon who had been a feared assassin who happily walked into camps alongside the likes of Innocentia without fear. Elyon who could act without a single fear, who tossed her head and openly laughed in the faces of the cats she hurt.
Something snapped in Mysteryleaf, and realizing that Snowthorn was a cancer that was spreading to cats like Tigerlily and would affect Sweetiepeach's poor son Lionpaw, made a dark thunderclap of realization rip through Mysteryleaf.
No words would work. Words had never been Mysteryleaf's friend, when her family talked they failed. Actions would have to do.
And so Mysteryleaf, fueled by desperation, fearing losing her friends son to this monster, fearing him infecting more cats.
She whipped around, unsheathed her claws and leapt at Snowthorn. "You cancerous fiend! Infecting Tigerlily, infecting Sweetiepeach and now you want more?! You can't have it!" She snapped, hooking her claws into his body and with all her strength taking him to the ground. Rage, desperation, and so much internal frustration that had been shoved down, down for so long finally exploded out and she attacked Snowthorn with everything she had. Claws digging deep and teeth biting down into his flesh.
His stupid perfect exterior! She didn't aim for the death blows as she should've focused on scouring claws across flesh.

Snowthorn was thrown onto his back with a surprised grunt, having not expected such a reaction from something Tigerlily had said. Clearly, there was no making the clan think Mysteryleaf was crazy when she really was insane. They could see it for themselves with the scene they were causing. The claws piercing through his flesh told him the Bright Brigade member wasn’t holding back and with every new scratch and bite, his thoughts became more overwhelmed by the pain. Twisting wildly underneath the she-cat’s weight, he tried to offset her balance or tear free from her grip. He swung his foreclaws at any part of her that he could while his hind legs fought to kick her off. He didn’t think he’d be able to accomplish much on his own though, what with his minimal fighting experience. That was one of the reasons he’d picked Disloyaldog to be his servant but of course, he was never around when he actually needed his help.
“Get off of me, psycho!” Snowthorn half-spat, half-yowled, hoping that someone would help him in this losing battle. “Are you trying to kill me!?”
His yowling only made Mysteryleaf claw harder. She bit down on his shoulder and jerked her head around, teeth digging in, blood welling up.
The red haze of rage blinding everything and she struck out. Her rage prevented her from doing what she'd set out to do though, so fortunately, or unfortunately, Snowthorn was not going to be dying quickly. But if someone didn't get her off at some point, death from blood loss could be a possibility. As she opened up more and more scratches and wounds all over his body.
Fortunately, his face was spared as she was snarling and going for his body instead, as it was with the most area to claw and bite.
Tigerlily hissed, but remained professional using her claws instead to try to hoist Mysteryleaf off of her mate rather than to intentionally disuade her with harm. "Remove yourself from your clan mate, now," She said firmly, but she was not going to give the she-cat another chance if she didn't immediately remove herself. Tigerlily herself was weak, she never had warrior training, but she would at least try to protect Snowthorn. However Mysteryleaf was a Bright Brigade cat who could easily do more harm to Snowthorn than he ever could to her, it was an unfair battle.
Lionpaw paced back from the fight, his eyes wide. He had seen plenty of fighting, but not someone from a lower class turning on a higher class member.
"My bets on green eyes," Harvestcharm said when Lionpaw accidentally backed into them. What a hecking show, the kind of quality entertainment SunClan never had. Was there violence? Of course. But was it this laughable, no, never.
When Mysteryleaf proceeded to strike at Snowthorn she quickly tried to scratch the she-cats muzzle careful to avoid the eyes, but close enough to hope to scare her off.

Sneaking a glance down at himself, Snowthorn almost fainted at how much blood he saw. The blows were getting worse and the Imperial was tiring fast. His struggle was becoming more panicked but he didn’t think he’d be able to keep it going much longer. No one was helping him... And here he thought the day was shaping up to be one of his best. His vision was clouded as he looked back up at Mysteryleaf who now looked like a giant mass of darkness—a monster with snake green eyes. His fear-scent intensified at the sight and he threw his head back to release a strangled cry, “Leucisticcrow, help me!!” He couldn’t even process that he’d referred to his servant’s old name, but he didn’t even know if the tom was in camp to hear it. If he was, would he even bother to save him?

"Mysteryleaf, it's not worth it!" Laughingsky had only been half paying attention, until the sounds of fighting started, and he whipped around to see his friend attacking... Snowthorn. That, that was bad. The tom, unfortunately, wasn't as fast as he'd hoped, though the Imperial was running as fast as three and a half legs could carrying him towards her.
The moment he did actually get there, he lunged forward, wrapping his left foreleg around her midsection and bracing that leg against what remained of his right as best he could. "They're not worth it! I promise." The Imperial practically threw himself backwards, shifting the weight to his back legs, hoping he could stand and pull her off Snowthorn.
