Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The mother is the one and only Poppymask. The self-proclaimed Queen of SummerClan, she truly believes that she's convinced everyone - including Ratstar - that these kits are his. Of course, anyone who sees them knows better, they look nothing like the SummerClan leader, but don't tell Poppy that! The truth is that the father is Undeadecho, a MoonClan tom, Poppy fell for his dashing good looks, one thing lead to another, and... these kits!
This litter will be raised with flower crowns on their heads at all times and with a lot of love from both parents. Poppymask will spoil them rotten and Ratstar will likely do the same. He's accepted the kits as his own and lets Poppy call them his because, well, why not, it's adorable.
PLEASE BE ACTIVE! If you claim a kit and do not add it for over a week, it will go back up for adoption. Joy & I also reserve the right to reassign roleplayers if we feel you are not being active, but don't stress, we will definitely try to talk with you first
Now... to the kits! Molekit / mound (M) (strawberrycupid ): A simple light-brown tabby pelt with the shortest fur out of all his siblings. He was born with a stubby tail, similar to his mother's. Hazel eyes.
Bugkit / bite (M) (@turtlenoir ): A medium-length grey pelt that can sometimes be so light in the sun that it's mistaken for white fur and jet-black tabby stripes that run all of the way along his body. Moss-green eyes.
Weevilkit / spike (M) (GidgetGal ): Thick and completely unkempt dark-grey fur that sticks out in tufts in various directions with darker tabby stripes that run along his back. Yellow-green eyes.
Sunkit / petal (F) (woof ): Fluffy cream fur that billows like a cloud in the wind and auburn tabby markings that mask her face and wind around her legs. Sky-blue eyes.
Azaleakit / bloom (F) (lavellan ): Long, flowing near snow-white fur with various patches of cream on her chest and back. Has small, tufted ears like her mother, and is more on the heavyset side than her other siblings. Fawn-colored eyes. Poppymask's wails started at sun high and continued well past sunset. Truthfully it was not a difficult labor, at least nothing compared to her first one (which had TWELVE kits), but she liked the attention and amped it up.
Finally, though, just after the sun set, her cries petered out into purrs as she curled up tightly around her five newborn kittens. Creams, whites, gingers and grays, but not single dark brown tabby. Maybe Molekit would darken up as he grew older... He kind of looked like Ratstar, right? Proof enough for her!
"Oh Ratstar, they are so beautiful." Poppymask purred, lifting up her head to brush it against his, "Molekit, Bugkit, Weevilkit, Sunkit and Azaleakit... We're going to have our paws full!"
From the moment that his mate's labor began, Ratstar had been anxiously padding along the length of Summerclan's camp, always taking a moment to nervously pause when he passed in front of the nursery hollow before continuing his restless pacing again. How could he not be nervous? Even though this would be her second litter, that was still his mate in there, giving birth to his kits this time. Well...his in a certain sense. The Summerclan leader might have an odd way of speaking, but he certainly wasn't a fool. He had known the truth from the very start; that Poppymask's kits would not be his in the biological sense. The tabby tom honestly had no idea who the actual father was, except that he likely wasn't from their home clan, but Ratstar had decided early on that it didn't matter.
"Ya did wonderful, sweetheart," Ratstar purred, giving Poppymask a loving lick on the head as he sat proudly beside her, his single eye tearing up slightly as he stared down at the six newborn kits. His kits. Regardless of blood, the leader was more than happy to accept these kits as his own. Bending down, he carefully sniffed at his new children, until he reached the long-furred grey tom - newly christened Weevilkit - who let out a loud squeak upon feeling his dad's cold nose. The new father chuckled at that. "They're certainly feisty, that's fer sure. Jus' like their momma."
"And their dada," Poppymask added, although it didn't exactly make sense, for one they clearly were not Ratstar's kits, but also he was not known at all for being feisty. She gave Weevilkit a few licks - even at this age it seemed his pelt did not wait to behave - before giving up entirely and rubbing her head against Ratstar's again, "What are you waiting for? Lay down with me! There are no other queens in the nursery right now anyway, you may as well stay here for awhile. I'm sure Dawnmemories can handle SummerClan for one night on her own..."
Ratstar chuckled as he carefully laid down on the outside of the nest and curled himself up around Poppymask, resting his head on top of hers. "She's been handlin' the clan fer most o' the day practically, considerin' I've been a nervous wreck since you went into labor. Were Graythorn an' Thistlepaw okay with ya?"
