Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Jadie Soullesspaw, like her sister, knew what it was like getting beat every single time at everything. It was their way of life. Soullesspaw wanted to have a meal with her, but another apprentice named Kvalun ripped the rabbit out of her mouth. She hissed and launched herself at the tom, and things went as they usually did. She got beaten down. Thankfully, Kvalun's mentor called him away before he could do much damage, but blood ran down her flank where the charcoal bengal tore into her. Compared to what Dottymask, Silverfury, and Howlingnight did, it was just a flesh wound. What hurt worse was losing the fresh rabbit. Instead, she told her sister to follow behind her in a few minutes as she left the camp.
Soullesspaw immediately headed east. Dottymask gave her one useful piece of advice: make stashes of everything she might need if the Clan ran out of stuff tomorrow. She did that, and hid multiple caches around the territory. Soon enough she arrived at the bottom of the lower waterfall, and began to dig away at the frozen earth. The cold earth made it far more difficult to dig, but it preserved her prey very well. As Sinfulpaw came into earshot Soullesspaw pulled a rabbit out of the Earth, which revealed the stolen gemstones underneath. Lights of all different colors danced on her face as she started to cut into the rabbit. "Nice of you to finally show up, sis."
"Soullesspaw, you jackal." Sinfulpaw giggled, running up to her sister. When she was with friends she really did shine as bright as Soullesspaw's hoard of gemstones, a real go-getter, but she put up one hell of a guard when in camp with the rest of the WinterClan cats, "I knew you'd been collecting those for awhile, but I had no idea how many! I'm shocked no one has reported them as missing yet. No doubt we will be the ones punished for it."
The dark furred she-cat nosed at the rabbit and her stomach growled. Like the rest of the demons, she didn't get enough food, and she suffered more than most due to her naturally large size. Sinfulpaw's height was already above most of the WinterClan purebloods which was really quite a feet given this Clan had a penchant for rearing massive cats, especially toms. To be fair, Soullesspaw wasn't much better off on that front, "You are going to share that, right?"
"We're punished if the snow doesn't fall correctly. I've stopped trying. Besides, it's all the same. Cut here, beating there. Really, it's gotten quite monotonous." She laughed, and never considered the cruelness of being able to talk about abuse in such a way. It was her life. And she was making the best of it.
She took a large bite out of the animal before passing it to her sister. "Well, of course! I'm not some savage like the rest of them!" Soullesspaw wasn't quite as tall as her sister, but she still gave most of the purebloods in the Clan a run for their money. If only she really knew how to fight, then she could stand up to Dottymask and all of the other ones. "You know, I bet if we just lived out here, none of them would notice anything! You know, we could just go and live up in the mountains. Check in everyone once in while, but not deal with any of those damn kits."
The pair did not have much to complain about there. Heavenlykit was a complete pushover, and since she jumped between Soullesspaw and Rosemarykit she had a certain fondness for the kitten. Soullesspaw wasn't afraid of anything Heavenlykit could do to her, but was more impressed that she stood up for someone like her.
"That would certainly be the dream, wouldn't it?" Sinfulpaw mused, taking a hearty bite of her sister's prey. Truthfully she wasn't very close to any of her siblings, so she was happy to have some kinship with Soullesspaw. She passed the fresh-kill back to her sister, "You know, that gave me an idea. They won't train us to fight, but what about if we trained each other? If they haven't found your collection of gems yet then I doubt they ever will. Imagine the look on Dottymask or Howlingnight's face the next time they try to strike us and we effortlessness dodge the attack!? We'd only get beat more for it, of course, but it would be worth it. We've got tough skin anyway."
Once her sister took a bite Soullesspaw pulled the rabbit back and took another one herself. Her eyes brightened up at the mention of training with each other. Why didn't they think of this before!? "You know, for all the stuff I hear about you, I think you're a genius." She laughed and pushed the rabbit back to Sinfulpaw. "Why don't we! You know, I've gotten pretty bored of all that they try to do now. It's always 'You're worthless!', then a beating or something like that." She threw snow up into her sister's face. "Maybe we could mix things up a little bit. Maybe even get Dottymask across that pretty little nose of hers."
"Man, I'd love to see the look on her face if me and you could even hold our own with her!" Sinfulpaw snickered, getting into a playful crouch normally reserved for hunting, which was all she had been taught. The demon apprentices had very little battle training because no one wanted them to be able to snap back one day, "I'd be sure to put a rock in her eye same as she did Maggotpaw. Or carve her up like Dirtypaw. Give her a taste of her own medicine!"
It was easy to say all of those things, though, totally something else to actually act on them. Sinfulpaw was smart but she had been beaten down her whole life, she didn't have enough confidence to actually pick a fight with Dottymask, she knew she'd freeze. Still, it was fun imagining it, "Pretend I'm Dottymask and give me all you've got, sister!"
