Maizedusk hadn't left her new nest in what felt like days. Her entire body was numb with panic and sadness. Only a half moon ago she'd left her birth clan, SummerClan, for SpringClan and... and for Swallowbelly. A tom she knew only a little but had felt hopelessly drawn too. She'd left her clan for him and then he died.
Just thinking that word died was painful for her. What was she going to do now? She had no one here and she couldn't just traipse back home. SpringClan was her home now and without Swallowbelly everyone felt so cold to her.
Still, she needed to move, even if only to sit right outside the den. So with a deep sigh she heaved herself to her paws and padded unsteadily outside, squinting in the annoyingly bright light. Then she just stood there. Lost.
