"I'm sorry I ran, please can you take this off of my neck?" Sean asked as nicely as possible for him.
Glowstar had been dragging Sean on a leash for sometime now after he refused to come with her to the old Regime's territory. Unfortunately for Sean, Glowstar had adapted to walk quicker due to DayClan's large field lands, which was wearing him out when he typically didn't have to walk all that much.
"What if we have to take a break to sleep for the night? We would just have to put it back on you again," Glowstar pointed out.
"Can we at least slow down?"
"Oh yeah, let's just slow down so Shule can catch up and kill me this time."
Sean had a sideways grin, "Okay, you're acting like Shule killing Fox wasn't justifiable."
"Okay, but she almost killed me first that time too and the time with Funk, point being, Shule has always been fast to kill me first and one day she'll be quick enough. Besides, we're just solving a mystery and I'm just demanding you to be a detective and-"
Sean pulled the leash out from Glowstar's jaws and for the fifth time ran off, but at this point she wasn't even sure if Sean knew where he was at because she didn't entirely either. They were traveling above ground trying to trace an old underground tunnel system, it was a bit difficult. Glowstar inhaled a deep breath, "I hate him, I'm just- I'm so tired of running, he knows I hate running."

Vixenkismet walked alongside them, her expression relatively neutral for her. Ever since her exile, she hadn't been quite right, and it only seemed to be getting worse. Her apathy was increasing, and the murderous rage remained, but much of the motivations she'd had during her, ah, stint of insanity was gone, and she found it oddly difficult to even get up and go. But, this, well, she couldn't miss it. She hefted a tired sigh at Sean running off, waving Glowstar to wait. "I guess I'll get him this time." She had to pause for a long heartbeat, staring after Sean and taking a deep breath before pelting off after him, following after his scent. The ex-Priestess didn't mind running, and had a good bit of stamina to show for it. Though at this moment, she'd probably actually rather be in her nest, and she barely managed to shake off the thought and turn a sharp corner after Sean in time, dragging her claws against the ground as she launched herself after him. "Just give up now, and save us all the trouble."

And of course, where the two went, Funk wasn't far behind. Long walks were nothing to him, the city had only increased his endurance as he kept up with Glowstar easily. The Eeries seemed to always have some trick up their sleeves, enough for a normie like him to consider them a bit overpowered. Specially Sean, dude gets two powers. That's just not fair. But it also wasn't fair that he kept running away. Last time, Funk caught him, so as Fox ran off, he stayed by Glow. "Ugh, this same song and dance is getting old." Funk stretched in their pause, watching as the two figures disappeared. It might not have been the best time, but since he was finally with Glow alone, he may as well ask. "What's up with Fox, by the way? You think she's getting the pre-marriage depression?"
"And why would I willingly do that?" Sean asked from the left of Vixenkismet after a moment of her running. He had tried to take a quick turn through the bushes, but his collar and leash were wrapped up in the branches and thorns. Pulling forward he tried to force the thorns off from his collar and while it gave some resistance he ultimately had to lean his head back again when it wouldn't snap off with only more thorny branches falling over him. He blew a leaf away from his face before looking expectantly at Vixenkismet to help him out of his mess.
"Um..." Glowstar had to do a double look at Funk E'tan for a moment, "I don't think pre-marriage depression is a thing? Do you have pre-marriage depression? Besides her response is normal, her daughter was humiliated, branded, dethroned, and locked up. She loves Littlestar, I can't imagine how much this is hurting her."

"Well, if you don't want to die here by being stuck in a bush, that's a pretty good motivation." Vixenkismet answered blandly, watching him struggle without much helping. "So, giving up, or dying to a thornbush?" She asked, not yet moving to help him in the slightest.
Sean let out a small huff, "I give up," He promised her. He didn't even try to squirm out, mainly because he didn't want to embarrass himself. However his green eyes still burned brightly into hers, which suggested that even though he gave up in this moment he was probably going to run later on.

"What? No. Happy as a clam, this nemesis is." Funk lied, right through his teeth. But sold it by nosing Glow along the side of her face. He hadn't even considered how Sun's situation was affecting Vixenkismet. In his mind, he distanced her from Sunclan. Mostly cause he liked to forget that she led it at one point. "True. Kinda forgot with everything else going on."

Vixenkismet would take that for now. She wasn't the one who would have to drag him next time. "Good." She sighed simply, stepping forward to start helping him out from the bush, wrapping the leash tightly around her leg as she unraveled it to keep him from immediately running off. "Why bother running anyway? Not like you're actually going to get away."
"Because I feel like a fool if I don't at least try to get away. I feel even if you try and fail laughably at it that you're not an idiot for trying your best. So to me I keep my pride so long as I don't give up," Sean said thoughtfully before smiling at the end of his answer, pleased with himself. However he halted the leash when he stopped before Vixenkismet could tug him more, "They're not going to understand, but you can always talk to me. I've seen the way you've acted, I've been through my own version of it, it sucks."
He walked back over to her side after saying his piece.
Glowstar kept her concerned expression after a second nudge she was under his spelling. She giggled at his light touch, "Okay, I get it, you're fine." She nuzzled into the side of his neck, "I feel for her, Azura's stuck in SunClan too, but I know she'll be alright she's a tough girl, but more than that she wasn't a public figure that was a threat like Littlestar was."
Vixenkismet tensed up slightly at Sean's comment, and stared at the bush for a long moment, gauging her response. It was utterly unlike her to ever open up, to anyone, for any reason. Truly, it went against her very nature to admit weakness. When she'd stepped down from Priestess, she'd done so suddenly and without explanation. When she was hurt, she turned it into rage, or masked her pain with mischief and danger. It was easy, to put on that mask. Well, it had been easy. These days, it was as though the idea was as heavy as boulder, something far too difficult for her to lift, and she wasn't about to drag Glowstar or Funk down with her to be crushed by it.
Logically, she knew Sean would have experienced something similar. That's exactly what she'd banked on to get his kits. But to admit she was so weak, herself? No. Her pride, however little, didn't want to let her be vulnerable. "Did things ever get better for you?" She asked. It wasn't necessarily an admittance to her own struggles, though it could be taken as one.
"It's like ocean waves, some day's its calm, other days there's a storm, but you can't control when the weather gets bad and you can't always see the storm coming. That never changed for me. But it got better when I reached out to one person and after that I got a little more brave and reached out to more people. When the waves come I don't feel like I'm drowning anymore. And if all else fails I have Snowy," He said with a shy earnest smile that looked cute across his lips, but could still see her protective stance.
"Or y'know, if I'm totally off about this then maybe on Thursdays at sunset you can get kidnapped, completely unwillingly by me and we can just talk. Again, totally against your will and not because you want to be there or anything," Sean suggested, "Just a thought."

Cool, he was believed. That's all he needed. One sibling knowing weakness was enough. He wouldn't be able to stand Glow seeing that side of him. He loved her, but she didn't need to save him. "Yeah, I wonder how Vibrance's others are doing." Funk didn't know their names, just sure that Bloody wasn't his only kid from that fling. "They sure are taking their time though."
"Nice that you have something to cling onto." She commented about the hamster, her tone making it difficult to tell if it was meant to be sarcastic or not. The fox-furred feline tugged on the leash, forcing him to follow her, albeit at a relatively slow pace. "...Maybe I'll have to make my Thursdays the day to go on a solo morning patrol along the rogue borders." It wasn't much, and she didn't necessarily sound like she was committing herself for certain to the idea, but it wasn't exactly a no either.
"Do you?" Glowstar asked, she had never seen Funk close to any of his kits to give them much thought. Not that it bothered, good people didn't always make good parents. Her ears perked up when she heard Vixenkismet and Sean walk over, "Man you must have run far." She said before getting up and moving forward again.
"Actually, I got stuck in a briar," Sean grinned at her watching his sister laugh, his amused expression calming, "Why are you so sure you want to see what happened? You lived it, you know the truth."
"Do you remember something that I don't?" Glowstar asked, walking backwards to look at him.
"I'm just talking from experience that looking into the past is damaging... You know how you hear an awful story of someone's death and all you can wonder is what their finals moments were like? I couldn't help myself. I watched Anansi get slain by his Kotori, I just needed to know if he suffered, I needed to know his last words, to pretend I was there. I watched everything, I couldn't help myself, I watched everyone die. But I knew how long everyone suffered, what their last words were... Saw them in front of me, but couldn't touch them. I lived in the past for an entire year of my life, sitting in a room, replaying my failures. The past can rule your future. So what are you going to do if what mom said is true? What hold will she have on you?" Sean asked watching as Glowstar's expression evolved from skeptical to downright horrified.
"... Did he really kill Pebble?" Glowstar managed to ask after a moment of silence.
"He suffocated her for thirty-four seconds, both paws on the front of her neck, but in the last four seconds he broke her neck, maybe her windpipe. I could even tell you the type of bird that was chirping that day."
"I'm just looking into one moment."
"You'll want more, you'll want to know why and how someone can be so awful, but Glow you'll never find it," He promised her with a tearful, but understanding look in his eyes, but while Glowstar's mood shifted to a somber feeling she kept walking.
Of course Glowstar and the lot couldn't quite get away from the Commander. It was only a matter of time, and they all knew it. And here she came. Her crystalline gaze was hard, and she trotted after them at an easy pace, though the fresher their scent got, the more swiftly her paws moved, until she was downright running at full tilt after the group.
If it had just been the DayClan leader, perhaps Shule wouldn't have been so concerned, but with Vixenkismet and Funk, there was absolutely no reason to trust what was going on, and she skidded just short of actually pile driving Green into the ground in a rage, harsh expression not lessening a fraction as she spotted Sean bound by a leash that was currently being held by the SunClan ex-Priestess, and a growl rose in her throat, though for the moment, she held enough control in herself to keep her claws sheathed. "And just what do you think you're doing, dragging Sean along like a wayward tyke?"
"RUN!!!" Glowstar screamed already moving to run, but the moment Commander Shule set eyes on them it was already too late. Commander Shule skidded to a stop in front of her as Glowstar instantly backed up a tail length, "Sister," She said in her most friendly voice, hoping that would mean anything at all to the commander as though the title itself were a shield. "Oh," Glowstar laughed nervously, "We were um-" She was really wishing they had muzzled Sean's mouth shut, they could have come up with a lot of wild, but possibly plausible explanations give that it was Sean.
"They want to make me use my element to prove my moms guilt so she can't make up lies anymore," Sean said, pawing sheepishly at the collar, but was naturally the only one delighted to see Shule. "I told them no, of course." He smirked knowing he was going to win the argument finally with his mate around.
Glowstar rolled his eyes whispering to Funk E'tan and Vixenkismet, "I hate it when he does that smirk, it's so punchable and then somehow it's wrong to act on it?"

Shule's gaze shifted mainly between Glowstar and Sean, eyes narrowed. If she weren't already on edge, she might have actually found Green's terror amusing, but as it was, she had half a mind to murder Vixenkismet and Funk E'tan again, simply so they'd stop being a nuisance. That was just a wishful thought, however, and her eye brow raised at Sean's words, ears perking up in interest. "They want to find out the truth about Eartha?" The Commander repeated back slowly, as if wanting to confirm for herself that this was what he'd said.
Then her gaze turned to the DayClan leader, eyeing her up and down. "You didn't think to let me in on this, instead of just KIDNAPPING MY MATE?" Her tone sounded a bit less angry now, more exasperated at the fact they could have suggested this to her in the first place and saved her so much trouble.

"Not really. But you believed me for a second, right?" Funk laughed. Their families were too big. His own was enough but now he had to watch Glow and Fox's children run around. They rolled through phases of likability and not. But since most of them were adults, it was 50 50. Funk's expression dropped as Fox and Sean made it back.
The quartet was back on the road. Funk had half a mind to walk along and eavesdrop, he stepped ahead to match pace with Foxbane while still eavesdropping. There wasn't much to say to the ex-priestess that hadn't been, so he twined his tail with her's in silence. And while Funk could hear the words they spoke, he didn't grasp their meaning. Or the horror on the sibling's faces. Now he was exceedingly curious, about just what he could see through Sean's eyes. The answers they held.
He had half a mind to ask when Shule caught up to the four. Not that he said anything, she always looked too eager to kill him again but only being held back by a whim or moral. It was exciting, unnerving, and it was why he scoffed a little at her question. "No offense Shule, But with the way you're staring at Vixenkismet and I, this seemed like an easier route."

Shule looked at Sean's shocked face, her own surprisingly unaffected. "I want to know the truth." She answered him simply, giving a nod to Glowstar. "The sooner we get this over with, the sooner we can go home, right Sean?"
