Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Leviathan exited his den, stepping out onto the high ledge to address his clan. It had been several days since the gathering and since the moon herself had turned red. Though who had been there that night had already told their clan-mates what had happened, and of course speculation began to spread like wildfire. Even WinterClan who had not been present at the time sent an envoy to MoonClan to ask the cardinal why the moon was red. In truth he had no answer for them. For the first time in his life, since the flood that had taken his family from him the black and white tom couldn’t hear Selene whispering to him. Instead there was nothing but complete silence, something that scared him more than the revelation that he could see the dead walk among the living almost as clearly as if they were still alive. Now he stood alone, bathed in the light of the blood moon as he faced his clan.
“Let all cats gather for a clan meeting!” he called out to alert the cats who hadn’t already started to gather once he had emerged. The cardinal sat on his ledge restlessly waiting for Selene’s followers to heed his call. “I know, you all have questions and concerns regarding our… extended blood moon.” he began once every cat was out of their dens. “I can assure you this isn’t some horrible omen, and you have little to fear.” His voice rang out firm and confident but even he wasn’t too sure if what he was saying was the truth.
"Well isn't that a relief," murmured Summershadow. Perched beneath the high ledge near the front of the crowd, he had to tilt his head back to look up at Leviathan. When the moon had first turned to blood, he had been excited to bask in Selene's new power; the Sun God wasn't there to limit her anymore, so she must be full of power. Only it seemed he had been wrong... but he trusted Levee that maybe this wasn't as bad as it seemed.
Snowshod's ears pinned back and he couldn't erase the look of doubt from his face. He had a special connection with Selene - he couldn't talk to her, but he always looked up at the moon for its light and support as a kitten. It worried him to know she was suffering now.
Carvedsnow leaned against her father, watching Levee speak in silence. She would wait to hear what he had to say.

The clan felt heavy for the sudden silence of Selene, and Nereus was no different. Now, no matter how much he prayed or slept or did little rituals to try and get her to talk to him, it all fell on deaf ears. It felt like the wind had been taken out of his sails, energy sapped from him as he sat next to the group of kits Leviathan had brought back the other day. They all looked suspiciously like them, and the clan had taken them to be theirs. But that didn't make any sense. They were just found.
He had had no prophecies or warnings from Selene, so all he could do was nod in agreement as Ignitedkit looked up at the blood moon. Curiosity sparked in her heart, a silent desire to bring the Moon back to her regular colors. Though she was still too young to do anything about it.
Undeadpaw curled his tail around his paws. Even after being brought to Moonclan, he hadn't felt anything for Selene. Really, he joined shortly before the whole thing went down anyway. Now the large grey tabby felt his teeth clicking together in his mouth before his gilded gaze landed on Leviathan. "Well, what are we supposed to do to get the moon back to normal?"
Leviathan's gaze found the student's as soon as the young tom spoke. The clan had the right to worry, but to his relief the silver tabby asked a question he had an answer for. "A Sacrifice." he said simply, as if the answer was obvious. "Every New Moon a willing blood sacrifice is made in Selene's name by my hand in order to restore her strength." he explained, his amber gaze sweeping across the crowd meeting the eyes of those who weren't among them the last time a sacrifice was preformed. "It has never failed us before."
Slightpaw nudged his brother stiffly with his shoulder upon hearing the Cardinal's explanation. "I hope he doesn't think you're offering yourself up." the brown tabby teased, just trying to spook his litter-mate.

Rasalas, formerly known as Riverwolf, had waited for this moment. The moment of doubt he knew would lead to his ultimate rule. He met eyes with his daughter, Leaguerat, who sneered, "A blood sacrifice? And who do you think should sacrifice themselves to bring the moon back?" Her sharp emerald eyes fell on the two apprentices. "Ah, perhaps these two innocent cats will do the trick. How are we to know that it'll actually work. Might as well risk the young, right?" Her tone was challenging and she stared straight at Leviathan, waiting his reaction.
"Hey, slow your roll. Let's not already start bickering. I'm sure Leviathan will lead us in the right direction." Subaru spoke up, flashing an exasperated look at the she-cat. She had joined with a few other Sunclan refugees not long ago. He understood her concern, but picking fights this early on was insane.
Leviathan managed to keep a neutral expression as his attention shifted to Leaugerat, he wasn't too fond of her, or most of the new members that had sought refuge in MoonClan when Selene aided their high priestess in killing the Sun God. "It sounds like you're volunteering Leaugerat." he purred at the she-cat his trademark smirk curling at his lips. "Is that what you want? To become one with Selene?" He would never sacrifice a student, they were too young to understand the weight that came with a choice that big.

"That would make you as bad as those Sun God worshippers." She responded smoothly, ignoring the irritation that prickled in her belly. "Tell me, Leviathan, what leader sacrifices their own cats to a god who disappears and leaves that in her place?" Her tail flicked up to the blood moon and a smirk played on her muzzle.
The black and white tom held in the sigh that filled his lungs. the she-cat would not get the satisfaction of a reaction from him. "It's the highest honor to give yourself in your entirety to Selene and become one with her, one that can only be done willingly. I also never mentioned sacrificing any moonClan cats." his eyes followed her gesture to the moon, the red light that illuminated off of it was harsh, and unforgiving. "To answer your question. I would gladly pay a blood sacrifice to a selfless goddess that would sacrifice herself to aid her enemy in liberating themselves of a vengeful god. Isn't that why you're here?"

Slaughterpaw leaned against her brother Slightpaw, not really understanding what the big deal was. So the moon is red? So what? Her and her siblings came to Moonclan shortly before the moon turn blood red and she really did not understand why or how it happened. When Slightpaw spoke she cut her eyes to him and scowled. “They wouldn’t sacrifice us.......would they?” she spoke, doubt lacing her voice. Her amber eyes turned towards Leviathan, her scowl still firmly in place. “What if the sacrifice does not work? What do you do? Try again?” She called out, her voice carrying across the crowd.

"Yeah, uh, that wasn't an offer by the way." Undeadpaw waved a paw dismissively towards Leviathan, though he didn't yell to make sure he was sure. Looking back at his siblings, he snickered. "If he really needed some willing participant, he'd just need to sweet talk some kit. Tell em it's for the greater good and all that. No reason to go for the cool new litter."

Leaguerat clamped her jaw shut, glaring at the cardinal with fiery eyes. "Hmph. Doesn't seem like your selfless god left pleasant skies in her place. Maybe she isn't the god you should be following."
Rasalas' eyes flashed with something unknown as Leaguerat spoke her words. Ah, what a good soldier of a daughter. Was that pride he felt? It would be one of the few times he felt anything remotely parent-like towards his kits. "Kits should not be sacrificed unnecessarily." He spoke smoothly, taking a few paces forward and lifting his chin towards Leviathan, almost like a challenge. "Gods and their sacrifices. I'm disappointed, truly. Shouldn't servitude be enough? My fellow gods have become weak in their desires for blood. True gods would want their faithful subjects alive and powerful, like soldiers fighting against the plague of weakness." His deep brown gaze swept the clan, their depths full of a cloud of emotion, fake emotion. "Moonclan, it is time I told you of another god in your midst. The star god."
"A new God?" Summershadow echoed, puzzled. "I've never heard of this Star God. I think it's best we stick with Selene until she recovers," he announced, but his tone was very curious. Rasalas did have a point: he disliked the idea of sacrificing cats unless they volunteered themselves, and few cats here looked ready to die.

"Sun God, Moon Goddess and Star God. A real original guy here." Undeadpaw laughed, eyes falling on him as he broke the silence. It was a little too tense for his taste, even if this guy was denouncing Selene.
Leviathan looked from cat to cat at they spoke, and couldn't help but notice that most of the cats speaking out, questioning every word that came out of his mouth were all cats he had recently let join his clan for one reason or another. Of course the two causing the most problems right now happened to be from SunClan. No matter how hard he tried to usher in peace between the two clans it always failed.
"It's never not worked before, and I can assure all of you no one is being sacrificed against their will." His voice rose so that he could easily be heard throughout the clearing. He had to get this meeting back under control before things got too out of hand.
"I've never heard any mention of this proposed Star God until now" he spoke evenly, locking eyes with Rasalas as the rogue spoke. The Cardinal stepped between him and the gathered cats he was addressing.

"Well, unlike my counterparts, I don't need to boast and make myself known to be powerful." Rasalas answered with a swing of his tail. It was time. He stood up and turned to face the clan with a determined, regal gleam in his deep brown eyes. "You may see me and wonder where I came from. My name is Rasalas, formerly known as Riverwolf. Some of you may have heard when I ruled over the Waterclan cats before their treachery. You may have heard me described as 'evil and heartless' or a 'failure.' Truly I say to you, I am not what they call ‘evil’ but powerful. I will turn Moonclan away from the weak state it is in and bring it to glory once more. Waterclan was foolish and they did not listen. Do you think that flood was an accident? It was divine retribution! They could have been saved and more powerful than any other clan. I have been blessed with divine powers to restore Moonclan to it's former glory now. Selene knows its time for me to step in and rage war against the sins of this world. That is why the moon is red as blood! It’s a sign that she is weak and Moonclan needs to display their strength and might among the clans. Doesn't that sound better than sacrificing one of your own continuously to provide strength to your god who should have that on her own?"

"Interesting. Never heard of a Star God, you'd think he would have chosen something more creative with Starclan and all." It couldn't have been a surprise for power to be spoken of and then Abaddon showed up. She had been flying under the radar, the sister to Leviathan keeping to herself. Like she was scheming something up. Things had gotten a little boring, much as she loved her brother. Now the black and white she-cat stood next to him, carrying the sort of regal energy she tended to. "I will admit, I am curious as to what sort of plan you have to whip us into shape. Words mean nothing without actions to prove them."

Rasalas fought down a bristle of indignation at her comment, but kept a cool, collected face as Abaddon stepped up. "Hmm. I will not waste my time explaining a full plan again to a clan who does not desire to follow me, but I can tell you that the other clans would wish they had given Moonclan more respect if you choose to believe. Our clan will be fed and strong, with no sacrifices and plenty of capable warriors. We will train hard and make good use of the many talents in Moonclan from hunting, to tracking, to using your claws. The other clans do not know the shadows like we do. We can use this to our advantage. There will be no more bowing and sacrificing to a god who makes us look weak." A confident smirk rose to his muzzle to show that he meant his words. "Aren't you sick of being looked down on? I've heard the whispers of what Sunclan thinks of you lot, and believe me, they'll be one of the first to regret their words. The time for sacrifice is over and the blood moon is upon us. It is a sign that we must step up and prove that we are powerful, more powerful than they realize."
"You mistake mercy for weakness, just because we don't pretend to own the forest itself does not make us weak." The Cardinal spoke up, refusing to be intimidated by Rasalas' words. "You claim this Star God can bring MoonClan to glory, so why has no one ever heard of them, and has anyone ever seen them? Where exactly was your Star God when WaterClan got swept away in a flood, and where were they when you tried to 'save' WaterClan?" Leviathan spoke calmly but his tail lashed to and fro as the conversation continued. "Do not forget you are a guest in my territory Rasalas and you're welcome has just about run out."

His smirk slowly slid to a smile and he chuckled, shaking his head down at the ground at Leviathan’s question. “Oh dear. How embarrassing to have to tell you this.” His eyes flashed up to meet the Cardinal’s. “I am the Star God. I would have you ask dear Selene herself but alas she has left me to convince you. I already know this will be a task. As for Waterclan, I caused the flood. If you defy me, I can promise you this moon will rain fire down on Moonclan. Don’t misunderstand me, I want the best for my new clanmates, but I can and will pour wrath on those who go against me.”
Leviathan would of laughed out loud if it weren't for the fearful murmuring that broke out among his clan. The black and white tom stood scowling at Rasalas, "Do you honestly expect us to believe that you're a God? I have no doubt Selene would of shared the knowledge of there being a third deity walking amongst the clans with me. I have faith but it does not come blindly. If you're really the Star God as you say you are then prove it."
