Plot: NightClan was out patrolling with Tinypaw and Sparklingpaw when dogs attacked, the warriors told them to run to the gathering place nearby the border so they could run up to the tallest true. The older warriors drew the dogs away to allow Tinypaw and Sparklingpaw a fighting chance to run to the tall tree. Smolderingpaw is also at the gathering place looking for an herb he was told to grab for the medicine cat Brakewing’s when Tinypaw and Sparklingpaw come running over. The dogs aren’t far away and will come back soon so it’s best that all apprentices start climbing up the tree and expect to stay there for a while. It might take a few hours being stuck in a tree together to out wait the dogs. Start off the rp with the three meeting in the gathering place with the dogs not far behind.

Tinypaw was breathless as she reached the trees at the gathering place. Casting a wary glance over her shoulder, a shutter ran through her body. The barking dogs were getting closer. "Come on!" she called to Sparklingpaw. "We gotta get up these trees before it's too late." She sprang onto a trunk and started to climb. It wasn't until then that she noticed another cat, one she didn't know, was there too. "Hurry!" she called to the stranger. "Climb up! Dogs are coming after us!"

"You'd think Brakewings have enough apprentices to get this for him," Smolderingpaw mumbled to himself, looking this way and that for this herb. Brakewings' description was rather broad, and it led to him picking a huge group of plants. Which really, was just everything he saw that vaguely resembled what he was told. The orange tom let out a sigh, stopping to groom some piece of fur that was bugging him for a while. His ears craned in the direction of Nightclan, the sound of thundering paws getting closer. His pelt puffed up as two apprentices sprang through and began to climb.
"Dogs? Why would you bring dogs..." Smolderingpaw started, but the noise got louder and louder as suddenly the dogs burst into the gathering place. "Oh Starclan why." He cried before beginning to pull himself up the tree.

"We didn't bring 'em," Tinypaw mewed. "They're chasing us!" One of her hind paws slipped and fear raced through her fur. She clung on tightly with her front feet making sure she was secure before climbing up further. Then taking a deep breath, she continued up until she came upon a large branch which was several tail lengths up from the ground. Good, this is high enough to be safe from those dogs. There were two other branches close to the first one that grew out from the trunk in different directions. Carefully she situated herself on the first branch and looked down at the other two cats. "Hurry! I can see them coming!" Her heart still beat wildly in her chest.

Smolderingpaw clambered up the trees. Of course this would happen to him. Luck was never on his side, further proven as he felt one of the branches beneath one of his paws break. Even if the dogs weren't there, he could hear the snapping on their jaws. That twig nothing more than splinters, and how similar it felt to one of his legs. He settled briefly before continuing up, pulling himself up to another branch that was next to Tinypaw's. Panting, he turned around at the last cat. "You got it?"

Tinypaw looked down at her clanmate. "Hurry!" she called. "You can make it! They're almost here!" She was still breathless from her run and all the excitement. She looked over briefly at the DayClan apprentice then back down at Sparklingpaw. In her mind, she willed him to climb faster.
Climbing was not Sparklingpaw's strong suit, and his heart was positively hammering in his chest as he climbed up after the other two apprentices. He could hear a twig snap just below him and his throat tightened. He didn't look down or he was certain he'd lose his nerve and fall. Already climbing was hard enough without him becoming paralyzed.
Hot breath was billow far too close and he felt the brush of something hit his leg, before falling away.
Yikes!
A bolt of panic and he leapt for the next branch, managing to hook a claw into the bark but the other slipped and he let out a fearful yelp as he was now dangling above these fierce dogs by a claw. He strained trying to get his other paw gripping the tree branch, his fear scent strong.

Tinypaw sucked her breath in sharply as she saw Sparklingpaw slip. Quickly, she started to climb back down so that she could help her denmate get better footing. What to do!? The only thing she could think of was to grab onto his leg with her teeth and hope he could get his other paws back onto the tree. So facing head first down the tree, she bit down on Sparklingpaw's leg hoping she wasn't hurting him. Oh StarClan, HELP US!

Smolderingpaw followed behind Tinypaw, testing each branch to make sure it wouldn't give in. He was almost a warrior, so the smaller branches weren't options for him. Thankfully the other branch Sparklingpaw was on was thick and strong. Smolderingpaw dove down once Tinypaw grabbed his leg, reaching to drag Sparkling up by his scruff. The dogs had pretty much surrounded the tree by now, one's teeth-gnashing dangerously close to his ear. But he managed to grab a hold of Sparklingpaw's scruff and began pulling him up.
Sparklingpaw yelped when Tinypaw bit his leg, but when she and Smolderingpaw got their grips on his fur, he just kept his one paw anchored and let them pull him up scrambling to dig his claws into the bark.
Once he was on the branch proper. He took a moment to catch his breath.
"Great StarClan! I thought I was a goner!" He said glancing down cringing as a dog's teeth closed just below the branch he was on. "I uh, think we should get back up higher!" He said a bit nervously.

Tinypaw was glad she helped Sparklingpaw get a footing. "Thanks for helping," she meowed to Smolderingpaw. She wondered briefly why a cat from a rival clan would help but she didn't have time to dwell on it.
"I think you're right," Tinypaw replied to Sparklingpaw as she watched a dog jump up higher than she thought dogs could jump. "Let's move up." Without looking to see if the others were following, she climbed up to a higher branch.

It wasn't even a question for Smolderingpaw to help. The clan tensions and the like were tossed out the window the instant he saw a cat that needed help. He wasn't so cruel to see a cat his age become dog chow right in front of him. "Yeah, let's go." Smolderingpaw climbed up the branches, paws shaking some as he looked over to make sure Tinypaw and Sparklingpaw were okay.

After getting settled once again, Tinypaw looked down at the yapping dogs. Now that they were out of any immediate danger, she relaxed a bit. "Don't those things ever shut up?" she asked. "With all the noise they're making, there won't be any prey left in either of our territories. They'll scare them all away."
Sparklingpaw got up a little higher than Tinypaw, weding himself in between the branch he was on and the trunk of the tree. "I hope they get bored and move on soon. I'd rather not spend all of today stuck up in this tree." He muttered, tail twitching with barely restrained anxiety.

Tinypaw shifted causing a small twig to break off the limb she was sitting. She laughed as she watched it strike a dog in it's face. The dog however wasn't amused and barked all the louder. "By the way," she meowed to Smolderingpaw over the barking, "I'm Tinypaw. I don't think we ever met at a gathering."

Smolderingpaw finally settled on a branch, leaning against the trunk of the tree as he caught his breath. He thought for sure they'd all be dog food, but now it was a waiting game of what would break first. The branches or the dogs? Hopefully, the dogs cause all this barking hurt his ears. He just barely heard Tinypaw over all of it. "Oh yeah, can imagine why. I'm Smolderingpaw from Dayclan."

"Nice to meet you," Tinypaw replied politely. Funny, she thought, we're allowed to be friends now but if we were to meet in battle we'd be expected to fight. There were times she had trouble reconciling some of the rules of living the life of a warrior and this was one of them. Why couldn't cats always be friends with each other? Don't we have enough common enemies like these dogs? Frustration with the dogs and her thoughts caused the small tortoiseshell to arch her back and hiss loudly as she glared down at the barking beasts below her.

While Smolderingpaw looked their age, he was on the older side of apprenticeship. Somehow he got the short genes from his parents. "And you?" The orange tom asked the other apprentice. Jetclaw
