Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Anyone on the site may try out, regardless of what other positions you hold. There are FOUR Janus positions open. c:
The Janus position is a sort of jack of all trades rank. They learn hunting, fighting, divination, and healing, as they are the rank from which the Promised (deputy/mca) are chosen from. The Janus are the first ones offered a staff position when one opens up. Their duties, first and foremost, however, are to know the clan's history, and expand their wealth of knowledge. They are expected to know, and be able to pass down, the full history of the clan to new generations, and to keep track of important events and names of cats, etc, as well as know the ins and outs of everything to do with the clan's code, religion, traditions, and rituals. These cats answer to the Soothsayer & Soothsayer Promised, and live with them in the Janus Camp, which lies below Ceremony Springs (a hot spring to the north of the territory, surrounded by the Burial Grounds).

For the sake of this tryout, all cats MUST be of kit or apprentice age. All chosen cats will receive their warrior name upon promotion to Janus.

Do you have any ideas/plot ideas for the Janus? If so, what? : Maybe The Janus have to kidnap kits (though that would be kind of weird since they just stole a bunch, like how much more can SUNC handle? xD), or maybe we could reuse my favorite PI plot from almost a decade ago. Where the Janus go undercover, change their names and join a clan and must take one life from a leader there and get out Questions, Comments, Concerns? : I imagine Amber wants to join SunClan for selfish reasons at first, but right now she’s been crushing on Lovepaw and her devotion becomes truthful whether that relationship works out or not. I can see her being a bully to any new initiates despite her not even knowing her own place of origin.
Amber (she’s apprentice age)/ Autumngossamer Roleplayed by Faith She was an angel seeking chaos, a sworn enemy of heaven, and a full fledged member of hell. It's why sinning became a frequent hobby to anyone she touched. She's a rose that makes the whole garden look like weeds. Blessed with a youthful complexion, but a mind of a thousand year old Goddess she is an envy and is as desperately wanted as a heartbeat. Where she came from no one really knows, but everyone claims she's sent from the heavens, but she knows that pretty faces are only forged for those who use them like a weapon. She has the stride of a tiger and her words are like a chess game and everyone's losing. Ruby flames kissing against her satin pelt with flecks of gorgeous bronze and silver light traced the tips of her white fur like fairy lights creating an angel of gilded fire. From her honey brown eyes, red bleeding stripes streamed down her pelt creating a look of a bleeding gilded tigress.
Do you have any ideas/plot ideas for the Janus? If so, what? : Well I think it would be very interesting for the Moon-god to show up and the fight between the two god is revealed. I have a rough idea for the rest of the plot and now I realize it might be more if a whole clan plot, but I think it is somewhat interesting. Aspenpaw glow Roleplayed by Lady.M Rather lean and wiry, Aspenglow is on the smaller side for a tom. Yet his plush coat helps him bulk up a little more and his ear tufts as a bit of an illusion of height. His long tail is just about the length of his frame. His bright orange coat is swirled with a deep russet. It almost seems to glow in the sunlight, giving him almost an unearthly glow. White spills down from his chin and runs down his chest to his belly, ending underneath the stripes around his tail. His rather round eyes are a beautiful gold ringed in a deep orangey amber. A little pink nose tops off his looks. Aspenglow was born to a she-cat, Tigerlily, who had left SunClan to join up with a StarClan believing tom, Yellowfoot, from DayClan. Yet hardships befell the pair when they found they were expecting. Only one live kit, Aspenglow, came out of it and in a state of distress his mother threw herself into a river. After the loss of his mother, his father panicked and left his kit alone in the forest. A passing loner picked up Aspenglow and recognizing the scent left on him by his mother brought him back to his true home. Aspenglow while he wishes he could know his parents, he harbors resentment for their actions. Now he struggles with feeling like he is undeserving of the home he has, always trying to prove that he can provide for the clan. He is prone to overworking and extending himself far beyond what he can reasonably accomplish. Yet Aspenglow refuses to back down and take the easy way. He will push himself the brink of death if it means his clan will be safe. Due to his hardworking nature, he can come off a bit stern and stubborn. Aspenglow has a set schedule he likes to stick to, never wavering in his ways. Yet underneath his rigid nature he is a sweet and caring tom. He loves the little ones that seem to get into every corner of the camp. Aspenglow adores the queens and their nurturing ways. He relishes the warriors that provide and protect. The elders delight him with their knowledge and stories of times gone by. Aspenglow craves the family life that sees around him, the little kits and their older siblings. He wishes he had the doting parents and the watchful grandparents that his clanmates have. So Aspenglow will simply settle into his life in the clan and leave behind his own legacy.

Do you have any ideas/plot ideas for the Janus? If so, what? : The more I kept thinking the more my brain is looping back to something to do with rebels, not necessarily within the clan because I understand how devotion works towards the sun god, but perhaps old members who were disbelievers have banded together and are looking to take down the hierarchy and worship to the sun god or something. My brain is fried and I usually have better ideas. Questions, Comments, Concerns? : I hope it's okay for me to use one of my stolen kits? cx He won't be weak forever lol
ACAIKIT burst Roleplayed by uniqcrim An unlikely player of the game, acaiburst was expected to die long before he reached his apprenticeship and for good reason. On the outside, he looks wimpy and weak with a frail frame and a dull brown tabby pelt. The only exception to this is his large light blue eyes burning with fierce determination and will. When he curses and spits he doesn't look like much of a threat but somehow he survived a deadly sickness that killed three of his littermates by sheer will. This fire lit deep within him is what makes him work harder and faster than those his age, determined to prove that looks aren't everything. Even as a kit he focused less on playing and messing around but asking around to see if he could do anything to help the warriors but of course they laughed after realizing which kit was underfoot. Acaiburst refuses to live his life as an embarrassment to his clan or the weak link and against all odds survived his apprenticeship looking healthy and strong with a dangerous bite and powerful paws. Acaiburst was born to Bloomingsun of Springclan and was one of the many kits stolen from Springclan. He is brother to Duriansplash and Figstem.

Do you have any ideas/plot ideas for the Janus? If so, what? : After a large multiclan plot as SunClan has recently had it woud be nice to have a smaller more internal sunclan plot. What if the sun where to disappear for a time? Like an extend solar eclipse? This could cause some mass panic and leave the cats in a bit of tizzy to try and solve teh return or revival of the sun god. or perhaps the sun god as reason to be vengeful? Have all the water sources in SunClan go dry and cats die from dehydration. They look to those in power to beg the sun god for salvation but the leadership know you cant just ask. You have to work for it too. Maybe they get desperate and sacrifice or something farther out than what they would have normally done out of desperation and fear. Or... bumbumbum they have to go so far as to appease the moon god to have her release the sun god from whatever unseen battle they could be waging. AURICPAW luster Roleplayed by Primordialhaze The sun is a formidable force. A ray of pure tantalizing power looming over the forest. But not just SunClan, though honored to be chosen, the Sun's power outreaches far beyond just them. This idea of raw power is what lead Skyminnow to name her only kit after the Sun god's pure majestic power. Auric for his golden gaze painted by the rays of the sun. Skyminnow raised him in the light of SunClan's rituals and rites. Training him to honor and respect the Sun god as well as relish in the power he could offer those who worshiped him diligently. And so it seemed the Sun god granted her wishes. As Auric ages and grew into an adult he received the name Auricluster for his pure white pelt. Its length surprisingly long for a SunClan cat basking under the unforgiving uv rays. However its thickness like a streams gentle run. A breeze tugging on the long straight fur showing it to be as thin as a curtain yet hanging from his muscles body like a gown of silk. Auricluster has a broad face showing his masculinity down through his thick neck and broad muscled shoulders. Though he put much effort into learning the nature of the Sun god and focusing on how to interpret his desires, he found his blessing in his claws. Auricluster, being the massive tom well endowed with tippling muscles, finds his release and pleasure in a raging battle, he has a shrouded kindness. When a SunClan cat has been wronged he believes it the right of the cat wronged to seek his or her justice. He believes in a firm steady paw and a guiding spirit. When his mother passed on from this life he did not grieve. He knew the Sun would guide her home. Instead he turned his heart and mind towards a higher aspiration. To drive the sun god to choose his claws to the enlighten those touched by darkness. To choose him as the voice of hope and reason to their tainted ears. Auricluster takes his tasks, whatever they may be, in SunClan as a divine ordinance. While he is diplomatic and a warrior politician at best, he is also a friend, a thoughtful companion, and a sturdy shoulder when needed.
Seeing as it's been a week and a half since anyone's posted to this thread, I'm going to close these tryouts! Since there are four positions open, and we have four applicants, all of your characters have been accepted as the new Janus in SunClan. <3
They will be added to the page, and the thread where they are officially chosen by the Sun for their rank will be up within the next few days.
