Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
When Frozenfire spotted the familiar, but now plumper gray tabby, she'd almost jumped for joy. After the gathering where SunClan had slayed their god, Flamingstar was feeling far less forgiving and more bitter than usual and keyed up for war. Ready to see a threat everywhere. And of course the return of her predecessor to one of their rivals would certainly get Flamingstar's blood pumping. After all, she'd taken in the stolen kits of Soaringstar after all. And she was quite attached to Creampuff while it was no secret that Skybrook, Infernalkaiser and Blazespell were more lukewarm towards the she cat, more lost with the revelation than anything.
So with a troubled look on her face Frozenfire made her way to Flamingstar's den, passing Bleakwind as he left her den, the tom having delivered a plump rabbit to her. She dipped her head to him but when he passed she curled her lip.
Love blind fool. Hanging around Flamingstar begging for her love like a mutt begging for scraps. It was pathetic.
But she hid it back behind her perfect mask, regaining the carefully crafted troubled look she'd had going in.
"Flamingstar, may I speak with you?" Frozenfire meowed softly. "There's something I saw in DayClan this evening that I thought you should be aware of,"
Flamingstar looked up from her rabbit that Bleakwind had just brought her. Rising to her paws, she beckoned for Forzenfire to enter her den. "Frozenfire." She greeted before asking the question, narrowing her eyes in suspicion. "What is it that you saw? We aren't being invaded, are we?"
Frozenfire shook her head. "No, no." She assured her as she sat down in her den. "But... I'm afraid I saw Soaringstar has returned to the clans, I spotted her in DayClan near the gathering area looking towards NightClan. She wasn't at the gathering before, but that could've been intentional to keep us from being aware of her presence."
Flamingstar's fur bristled. Not out of anger but out of fear. "Soaringstar is back?" Her heart began to race. Soaringstar could do many things. Not only could she steal her throne back but she could also take her adopted kits away from her. "Did you happen to speak to her?"
Frozenfire shook her head. "I wanted her to think I hadn't noticed her, but she was clearly trying to look around. I think one of your kits Skybrook or Blazespell perhaps? Had been on patrol earlier in that area, perhaps she was hoping to see them." She winced. "I know all your kits haven't quite acclimated to you as well as Creampuff has." She said softly, resting her tail on Flamingstar's flank. "That's why I wanted to tell you as soon as I saw her. It's troubling. And if DayClan has offered asylum to our exiled leader with the potential for war over Turbulentsea with SunClan I don't think it's coincidence."
"No" Flamingstar growled. "it's no coincidence. She needs to stay away from my kits." She turned to look at Frozenfire, recollecting herself. "I appreciate this information, Frozenfire. I can always count on you." She rested her tail on Frozenfire's back. "You my closest friend."
Frozenfire let out a soft purr, moving in and headbutting her shoulder. "You know it," She said. The lies came so easily, assuring herself that she would send Flamingstar to meet Ericanorth in the beyond made every moment of this falsehood easier and easier to bear. "I'm with you always, you know that." She said then she straightened up, "But what to do about Soaringbird," She mused. "We can't let the clan know about her... there might be some of your dissenters who might go to her and try to urge her, or worse Burningstar to return. Or both. Those two tend to be a packaged deal, that might be why Soaringbird is in DayClan, a way of balancing both our former leaders in our two enemies clans." She mused.
Flamingstar was touched by Frozenfire's friendly gestures, completely oblivious to her friend's true intentions. "Your right. Something needs to be done immediately. Perhaps I should send you and the rest of the Loyal Guard out to cease her. However, I'm uncertain what Creampuff will think. I doubt she would want to go on this mission and I imagine she will try to stop you."
Frozenfire nodded grimly pulling back. "Then it is of utmost importance we take her out quickly. Before she can confuse your kits, and threaten your reign." She said. "Creampuff and her siblings won't be the wiser, as far as they're concerned Soaringstar disappeared after you exposed her treachery and was never seen again."
"Ah, you are correct" Flamingstar grinned. "This is why you are my most trusted. I know I can always count on you to talk to. I'd say get rid of her, any way you think you should, but you mustn't let my kits know of this."
