"You're so funny when you're flustered Wolfie." "W-Well I..y-y-you're" he couldn't help but stutter. To him, this beautiful she-cat who had actually taken an interest in him, was the most sublime creature to walk to earth and she was giggling and teasing him. Not to belittle him. But flirting! With him! The dork of his siblings. The brains. Dark chocolate eyes grazed over soft feminine mottled calico fur, stopping at the most dazzling green eyes. "I'm what?" She giggled. He smiled softly. "Beautiful.." he all but whispered as she ducked under his chin, nuzzling his throat with a rumbling purr. "You were always the sweetest of your brothers Wolfie... it's a shame really." She said softly on a sigh as she lifted one delicate paw to unsheathe and gaze at a single claw, moonlight glinting off it's white surface. His brow wrinkled slightly. "A shame what?" He asked. "That we have to kill you."
"NO!" Cold sweat drenched dark ashy gray fur. His brown eyes that had before held so much warmth but we're now always cold like stale dry blood, danced wildly with fear. Taking a shaking breath he glanced around and was immensely relieved the Warriors den was empty. He must have been sleeping pretty hard for no one to wake him. With a long sigh filled with melancholy he dragged himself up onto his paws and walked stiffly from the den into the late morning light. "Ugh...not only did I have a nightmare but I slept wrong." He grumbled as he felt his joints pop with ever stretch. "That or I'm older than I thought." He rolled his eyes at himself. He wasn't old at all. He should be in his prime actually but night terrors almost every night tend to take a toll on a body. He didn't look out of shape at all, he had always been leaner than his two older brothers, but bulkier than his youngest. And with their mainecoon heritage they were all rather large in stature. But internally he felt horrible. Everyday. Shaking out his dark, long coat and smoothing out any unruly strands by rasping his tongue over them briefly he glanced around camp...

Feeling a strange tickle on the back of his neck he shivered like a horse twitching off a fly. Someone was staring at him. It was probably the scar. It was huge after all. He turned his head slowly until he caught sight of Etherealblink...staring...really hard at him. Blinking in confusion he glanced behind him to make sure it really was him she was staring at. Confirming that, in fact, he was the only one sitting here, he turned back around to narrow his eyes at the she-cat. "Staring is quite rude you know?" He called rather bitterly. Before his brain could catch up out of the night terrors fog and stop him from being a complete jerk. He winced outwardly at his own tone. "Foxdung!" He murmured to himself. When had he become such a grump in the morning?

Annnd she's inching closer but looks terrified. Good job Wolf.. Sighing he dragged a large paw down over his face. "I apologize, Etherealblink. I'm not usually so callous. Rough night's sleep." He attempted to soften his facial features to appear less...annoyed. Although it probably made his face look like he was feeling the affects of constipation. But he was definitely going for approachable. "I do the same sometimes so it was nothing for me to snap at you for." He said.

"Yea...I woke up in the night....usually when I do that I come out here and stargaze until I feel tired again." He sighed. His eyes did look tired. His fur still not exactly neat yet either. He may have slept in but that didn't mean the sleep was good. It usually meant he had been trapped in the night terrors. Unable to wake himself up. Those were the worst ones.

He stiffened at her question and suppressed the urge to growl before answering in a voice that had gone a bit colder than before but not mean, just reserved. "Death. Death troubles my sleep. My own death specifically and how close I came to it."
"Poppy seeds or bramble twig won't keep it away...trust me." He said as he finally made direct eye contact with her. Dark chocolate eyes iced over in his own reservations and fears.

He frowned. "Not that it's any of your business but yes.." he sighed again standing up and getting ready to go grab serving to eat before he fell over.

A low growl rumbled in his chest. "My problems would not be solved by spouting them to anyone. My problem still lives and breaths and wants me dead. My problem is no one else's but mine. That's it." He had turned to address her as she had started to follow not caring that his abrupt stop would almost have her run into him. Now they were nose to nose, his dark eyes like rolling thunderclouds as they filled with his suppressed rage.

"You would do well not to speak on situations you know nothing about. If I have decided not to share all my problems with the world then so be it. Accept it Etherealblink. That's that. Leave it alone " he snarled. Turning back around he headed in the direction he had been going in the first place. To the fresh kill pile.

He rolled his eyes skyward. "I didn't ask for any advice. None. Nada. Zip." He grumbled as he selected a mouse for himself and moved back to eat it by the warriors den. Trying hard to ignore everyone else.
Embertiger had just returned from a hunting patrol and after placing his kills on the fresh kill pile he selected one for himself and moved toward his brother. Whom he noticed looked incredibly annoyed. "Oh boy .. what's got your tail in a twist Wolf?" He asked with a deep chuckle.
Splitwolf grunted and made a motion with his chin towards Etherealblink by the nursery. "Unsolicited advice." He said as he took another bite.
Embertiger laughed again and gave Etherealblink a once over with roving amber eyes that made most she-cat swoon. "I mean, I wouldn't have minded some unsolicited advice myself. Was it really that bad?" He asked.
Splitwolf chose not to acknowledge his brother and focus on his food.

"Ooo that one's got some spunk." Embertiger said as he nodded to the she-cat with a toothy grin.
Splitwolf sighed. "Would you cut it out. Watching you try to flirt is nauseating at best. Not to mention it's not working. She's irritated because I won't spill my life's problems to her." He said as he flicked his brother with his tail.

Splitwolf concentrated on finishing his meal while Embertiger strolled over to the nursery. Sitting down a tail length away from the she-cat playing with the kit he smiled down at her. "So what's you and Wolf's damage huh?" He asked.

Embertiger chuckled. "Yea Wolf isn't going to accept anyone's help. He's not like that. Never has been. Always been the shoulder your own burdens type. It's best not to push it. And honestly Etherealblink, just because someone doesn't want to take your advice doesn't mean you have to get mad at them. Just like he didn't have to snap at you. Take a breather. He's not always a grouch." He smiled good naturedly at her and crouched down for Petrichorkit. Even though he was a big burly type of tom. He had a soft spot for kids.

Embertiger smirked. "Well like I said. He's not always like that. But if you want to sit over here and sulk then be my guest. No one will stop you." He said with a toothy grin before flicking the little kit's ear with his fluffy tail and moving back over to his brother whom he shouldered up to his feet.
"What?" Splitwolf grumbled as he was moved into a stand.
"C'mon. We're going out." Embertiger said as he nudged Splitwolf toward the camp entrance. "The hormones are driving me insane." He chuckled eleven as Splitwolf glared at him over his shoulder.
