Tinymutiny
SunClan Warrior
The Underestimated
She just couldn't do it, not any longer. One moment longer in her nest and she was going to loose it. Tinymutiny stretched out her paws, grasping the edge of her nest and pulling to help herself stand. Littlestar and Bloodyrondo has placed her on strict bed rest, telling her not to leave her nest even to get food or make dirt. Oakshade had been hovering by her side awaiting their kit's arrival and enforcing the ruling of the Priestess despite her protests that she was fine. They were afraid that she would trigger her body into going into pre-term labor. and causing her to loose kits in the large litter that she was carrying.
She let out a little gasp, as her legs took on her full weight. The joints in her legs were screaming for her to stop, but her mind couldn't take the one more minute of just sitting here doing nothing.Trying to push the pain aside, she waddled towards the entrance of the nursery, her sides bulging unseemly swinging from side to side making it even more difficult to maintain her balance. For such a small cat, she was HUGE, and she still had some time before the kits were actually due. The kits inside of her were starting to run out of room, but the goal was to let them develop inside of her for as long as possible, only dragging out her misery. She wasn't comfortable laying down, she wasn't comfortable sitting, and walking sapped her energy far to quickly. As she finally reached the edge of the entrance, taking in a deep breathe to take in the fresh air... but something was wrong...
Her head snapped to the side only to see Oakshade staring straight back at her... busted.
"Just where do you think you are going?" Oakshade was never far from Tinymutiny. He'd gotten special permissions to forgo all of his Warrior duties and instead serve as his mate's caregiver and bodyguard. Well, he had been doing that without permission, but now Littlestar had approved it seeing how... resistant... Tinymutiny had historically been to her treatment. He put his foot down dramatically, flexing his well-defined muscles, not that it had ever worked to intimate his mate in the slightest, "You need to go back to your nest and rest."
A high risk pregnancy. It was hard not to feel guilty. He'd prayed to the Sun God for a big happy family, and, judging by Tinymutiny's sheer size, it seemed he had more than gotten his wish. The problem? Tinymutiny had been pushed well past her limits and then some. She had to be at least twice her normal size and weight at this point... Would her body ever recover? Would she even survive the labor? And what of the kits inside her, pressed so tightly together that they can hardly squirm without hurting their mother and their siblings?
The large brown-and-white tom shook his head, physically dismissing the thoughts, "Don't look at me like that, you heard what Littlestar said just the same as I did. If you don't stay put you may go into labor early and put yourself as well as our kits at risk."

SunClan Warrior
The Underestimated
“You try to make me go back and you are going to be the one at risk”she growled, though it was half-hearted. Even as restless as she has been only moment ago, just trying to get to the entrance of the nursery had already sapped most of the bite out of her words. Her legs were trembling already for the sheer effort it had taken to make it this far. Tinymutiany wasn’t one to willing back down from a challenge, but this wasn’t exactly normal circumstances either. She wouldn’t admit it, but the High Priestess words had scared her more than she let on. But by following her commands, it would be admitting to herself that she was afraid. It was far easier to face the pain and lash out at those standing in her way.
Tinymutiany tried to shoulder her way past him to her favorite sunning spot “I wanted some fresh air in sunlight, the nursery is stuffy and crowded. Trust me, I’ll be far less stressed out here”
Oakshade was at her side in seconds, offering the once small silver she-cat his shoulder, whether she wanted it or not was not a choice, "Last time I let you out of the nursery you tried to sneak away the second I began playing with Mapledawn's little ones. How can I trust that you'll stay put when all you've tried to do for the past moon is get away from here?" Even as he spoke, however, his paw-steps lead up and out of the nursery. She'd won.
Oakshade hated being so hard on her, he knew that being cooped up like this was her worst nightmare, but he was just as tired as she was and thought a cat nap in the sunshine was a good idea for the both of them. After all, he wasn't eating, wasn't sleeping, hadn't for the last few days and probably wouldn't for a few more. He was too nervous and worried to do anything other than look after Tinymutiny, "But a little sunbathing shouldn't hurt... just promise me you won't try and do anything dangerous."

Tinymutiny
SunClan Warrior
The Underestimated
two moons ago Tinymutiany would have shredded his ears for even thinking about offering her his shoulder, but she was to weak to fight him off as he pressed up against her without even asking. She expected him to spin her around and march her back to her nest, but instead she found herself being walked forward away from the nursery, taking their time getting the the warm stone only a few feet from the nursery “I’ll promise, but only until after my nap. Then the deal is off” she smirked, knowing that she had won this one “and only if you will go and get something to eat. You can site beside of me as you eat if you want, but if you don’t eat I’m not going to rest”
"I'll only eat if you do." Oakshade fired right back, flashing her an honest but slightly weak smile as he cleared off the sunny spot he knew Tinymutiny would like the most. It was just some dust and sand but he wouldn't take any chances of, Sun God forbid, a sharp rock or biting insect finding its way anywhere near his precious growing family. The large brown tom cast his gaze over at the fresh-kill pile. It was full of prey as usual and within spitting distance of the nursery. He didn't even like to make dirt these days without someone switching places with him, but fetching food within eyesight shouldn't make him feel this nervous. Was something going to happen? His paws tingled, but he shoved the thought away, "What do you want?"

Tinymutiny eases herself to the warm stone with Oakshade’s help but even the gentle movement put pressure in wierd places as she shifted from side to side trying to soothe her unease “It doesn’t really matter what you pick, I’ll end up throwing it up. It all tastes the same the second time around” she sighed. Finally she seemed to settle, even though you could still see the movement of the kits from time time. Her gaze flittered over to where the guards where chit chatting, normally it would have been more than enough of a distraction for her to make an escape, but with all the extra weight she would have been lucky to stand without being caught so she bid her time. It had had been to long since she had felt the warmth of the sun on her back, and that combined with the exhaustion of the walk was a perfect recipe for sleep. Her eyelids felt heavy and droopy, as she struggled to stay awake long enough to make oakshade eat something
"If you can't keep food down you should have told Littlestar or Bloodyrondo. I'm sure they have herbs to help steady your stomach." Oakshade, of course, had already had that conversation numerous times, although this was the first time Tinymutiny had admitted to it. He didn't give her enough time to respond, however, as he stood up and padded at a forced leisurely pace toward the fresh-kill pile. Nothing looked appetizing to him so he chose a young rabbit kit, small and brittle - good for digestion - and padded back toward his mate. Oakshade dropped the fresh-kill at her paws then laid down next to her, "You first." He said, tail-tip twitching.

Tinymutiny took a small nibble, before pushing it back towards Oakshade. It wasn’t enough to say she even had a bite, but at least she had gotten something “there I’m full, now finish this and at least another mouse to” she replied laying her head on her paws, fighting against her sleep heavy eyes “There isn’t enough room in there for anything else” and it wasn’t an exaggeration. With her belly so filled with kits she could hardly stomach more than a bite or two at a time. It lead to her snacking more than having actual meals just to get enough nutrients to make it through. Tinymutiny’s tail flicked lazily, deciding to groom her swollen paws to keep herself awake long enough for him to eat
Oakshade sighed and took a bite to match hers then nosed the meal right back. He didn't need to say anything to communicate what he meant by that: I'll eat as much as you do. He didn't say anything more on the topic, though, it was old and he was exhausted, He gently put his head down between Tinymutiny's front paws so she could use him as a pillow should she so choose. Being so close like this, and bathed in sunlight, it made his easy droop and his breathing slow down. Before Oakshade knew it a yawn escaped his throat, "It's a real shame that MoonClan never had a good set of sunning rocks. Selene is really missing out. Can you imagine what it would be like if the Sun God and the Moon Goddess got along? Maybe we would have met each other even sooner..." He was practically sleep talking, "... wouldn't that have been great?"

"Perhaps I can take the kits off your paws after they're born, and you can spend a bit more quality time together." Foxbane appeared, as usual, rather suddenly, always where she wasn't wanted, and with a comment that would almost certainly send Tinymutiny into a tizzy, even if the ex-Priestess did intent to be well meaning with it. "I'm sure I could teach them all sorts of tricks to keep you two on your paws. Especially when they'll practically be an army of their own." Only a few moons ago the Senator had given birth to eleven kits all her own, though she'd clearly passed those off to one of her two fiances, Glowstar, to deal with.
"I can teach them all the loopholes, and I'm sure a fair share of poisons too. It'll be like I raised you, Tinymutiny." Okay, she knew it at she said it that was a bad choice of words, and though it was followed with. "Well... hopefully a bit better than that." It likely wouldn't have much effect.
Tinymutiny had almost drifted off to sleep, when a voice reached her ears. At first she thought is was some sort of nightmare, a residual voice inside of her head. Yet as her eyes fluttered open the blurry image of Foxbane appeared and kept talking. Each word that foxbane spoke, made the fur along her spine raise higher and higher, tensing up against Oakshade claws clicking against the stone as she forced herself to her paws despite Oakshade’s protests. A deep growl filled the air as she march over to her mother, leaning in and whispering in her ear “you will do no such thing” her voice was steady, her anger replaced with something far more sinister in her golden eyes “look at my kits and I’ll rip out your eyes. Speak to them and I’ll cut out your tongue. You will not be involved in the lives of these little Foxbane, should I ever find out of you much as whispering their names or harming a single strand of fur on their bodies, I will return the favor a thousand fold the sun god protecting your not” her tail lashed her lip curling upwards, this time speaking much louder “get out of my sight, you are not welcome here”, she turned to head back toward Oakshade stopping misstep as her sides rippled
Oakshade didn't lift his head with Foxbane approached. He still didn't know what to think of his mother in law but he was too tired to care. With any luck she would just walk on by and leave the two of them alone to enjoy their cat nap. The fun felt so good against his pelt... he didn't hardly even hear what she said, he was already half asleep, drifting away in a warm embrace...
Crack!
His head hit the sandstone ground and jarred him back to his senses. Tinymutiny had gotten to her paws and was facing off with Foxbane as she so often did. What were they fighting about? He listened to her words and felt waves of embarrassment. Getting to his paws, Oakshade stumbled toward her, flashing an apologetic glance at Foxbane, "Tinymutiny, you need to rest, getting so riled up like this is no good for you or the little ones. Foxbane doesn't mean any harm, she was just making sure you were okay, she's a healer and a good one. You shouldn't talk to her like..." No, this was forbidden territory, he needed to back track, "Sorry, just come back here, she's leaving. Right?" Now he gave the former High Priestess a pleading look. Please will you just leave, for her sake?
“No harm....NO HARM!?!!!” It was final straw in her already spinning downward spiral. Her fur was bristled outwards in all directions, her swollen belly giving her the appearance of a silver striped porcupine. There was a feral gleam one her eyes, a look Oakshade would be all to familiar with. All rational thought had left, leaving only primal instincts in it’s wake “I won’t let her any where near our kits” she hissed, Refusing any help from her mate, she pushed past him headed towards the tunnels. Each step she took creating a visible ripple, traveling across her swollen belly like waves in the ocean. Shoving the pain aside in order to protect her unborn kits from her own mother. It was futile, she couldn’t get very far in her current state but in the Sun God’s name she was going to try. Driven by motherly instinct giving her more strength, but even that wasn’t to last. She had only made it a few steps, when her stomach contracted. Clamping down, eliciting a scream from her throat and forcing her to her knees
"Tinymutiny, come back here!" See, this was why she wasn't allowed out of the nursery, not so much that she was forbidden to sunbathe, but because literally anyone would set her off and she would storm off. Her stomach extended farther than her whiskers at this state and she wouldn't be able to navigate the tunnels very well, and that's excluding her swollen paws, weakness of breath, the list went on. Sun God forbid she actually makes it outside where she's sure to be an easy target for predators or intruders. Oakshade was not having it. Without so much as a glance at Foxbane, he made his way toward his mate with long, hurried strides.
And they he heard her sceam.
"Tinypaw!" In moments of panic he'd slip back to her former name, a problem few other cats had, but it had always plague Oakshade. Bile rose in his throat as he rushed to her side, lashing his tail from side to side in pure terror. He'd never seen pain take Tinytmutiny to her knees before, "Are they... are they coming!?"

“Not here they’re not” she hissed through clenched teeth, the metallic scent of blood filling her mouth from biting her tongue to cut the scream short. As the contraction slowly released, she forced herself to her paws, determination still twinkling in her eyes as she took another step. Her breathing was shallow and gasping, he large sides heaving as she fought to get air “I refuse” she took another step barely inside the tunnel now, far from and ideal place for kitting. The tight quarters of the tunnels would make it difficult for healers to maneuver, much less the assistants that would required in order to provide the support needed for such a large litter. If something went wrong, they could potentially need at least one cat per kit working to get them breathing. However none of that was on her mind, just putting as much distance between herself and Foxbane as possible. It was a rather hopeless affair, but tinymutiny wasn’t a cat who admitted defeat easily. Another step, and she crumpled to the ground as another contraction took hold and squeezed what little air she had left in her lungs leaving her gasping
"You... you mousebrain!" Oakshade had never once insulted Tinymutiny before, he was very much anti-curses, but the mixture of stress, deprivation hunger and, did I forget to mention, stress, finally drug out the worst in him. He was immediately ashamed for what he had said but there was no time for him to beg for apologies. He gently pressed his paw into his mate's flank and immediately felt the rippling sensation of a contraction, "You're..."
Help, they needed help. Oakshade didn't know what to do but thankfully their argument had drawn a crowd. Of course, Foxbane was right there at the head of it, and if any cat was good to have around when delivering kits, it was her. She'd had enough of them herself and helped plenty of queens deliver. The only problem was that he was pretty sure Tinymutiny would rather do this by herself than with her mother anywhere near her. In fact, weren't those the very words she had literally just said?
Why did everyone have to hate Foxbane so much?
He shook his head and pressed his cheek against his mate's, "You know that's not true. Do you think you can make it back to the nursery?" His voice was surprisingly calm now. His adrenaline was racing which triggered his element and that was likely a side effect.

Tinymutiny slapped his paw away from her side with a growl, even the gentle touch was painful against the tensed muscles. She moaned, another wave of contraction taking hold before she could even get to her paws, they were coming faster and more intense hardly giving her time to catch her breath in between "I won't go back there" she hissed, claws digging into the earth of the tunnel her eye squeezing shut as the next wave hit her as she waited it out. She felt like the kits inside of her were battling it out, all trying to fight for position to make their way our first. She reached her paw up and pulled Oakshades head downwards "Get my mother OUT of here" she hissed through clenched teeth "If you let her any where near me or.............." her words became a jumbled mess, the pain clouding her mind
"Uh.." Why did Wolfpaw always find himself in these kinds of situations? He'd just gone out to make dirt only to come back and find SunClan's most unlikely sweethearts in the middle of a crisis. He looked from Oakshade to Tinymutiny and then behind them to Foxbane. It didn't take him too long to figure out what was going on and why it had to be here at the camp's main entrance. He used his small size to weave his way past the couple without touching either of them and only spoke after he was a fox-length past Foxbane, "I'll... go fetch Littlestar and Bloodyrondo..." And off he went.
"Tinymutiny!" Oakshade's felt his muscles lock up as they so often do when he got this worked up and turned around to face Foxbane. His mind was growing fuzzy, almost primal, to the point where any cat that was a threat to his mate was a threat to him now, even if he would not normally agree. He bared his teeth at Foxbane, "You heard her, leave." His voice didn't really sound like himself but everything that was right was quickly turning wrong. The Warrior dug his razor-sharp claws into the sandstone and broken a couple, not that the pain meant anything to him now, and now spoke to Tinymutiny with that same tense voice, "You can't stay here. If you can tell me where you want to go I will take you there."

It was far to late to move her, the scent of blood began to fill the confines of the tunnel the birth of the first kit was on the horizon. The contractions were one after another now, and as much as she wanted to shift and try to get more comfortable, the tight quarters of the tunnel prevent anything more than small shifts in positions even for a smaller cat. She could her mate a little farther down the tunnel telling her mother to beat it. She couldn't turn to see if she had really gone, but knowing that Oakshade wasn't going to let her near caused her to stop trying to push herself to her paws and just concentrate and breathing through the pain "No..." she moaned
