Snowthorn sat at the edge of camp with his tail wrapped delicately around himself. The sun would soon creep over the horizon, but the air was already hot. Waking up early was never appealing to him and yet, his eyes were awake and his mind buzzing with anticipation. What should have been another boring border patrol might prove to be an important opportunity for him. For one of the cats to accompany him was none other than Sweetiepeach: a lowly peacekeeper but from a "royal" bloodline and with a spot in the Bright Brigade. Somehow, her status in DayClan seemed more important than his but he didn't let it boil his blood too much. She was a she-cat after all and one that would boost his status should they ever, say, become mates. So he eagerly waited for the members of the patrol to assemble. He'd even gotten up early to groom himself to look especially handsome. He'd need to use all of his charisma to woo a cat such as she.
(Faith We can either have the patrol end up just being the two of them or pretend like other cats are there lol)
Sweetiepeach was a shroud of shadowy black curls. Sleek elegant dark waves glided down her towering fox figured body like a black ocean. She was intimidating, yet alluring all at once from her icy white bengal legs shining like moonlight in the dark backdrop of her ebony fur. But her eyes were like a dragons, copper in the center and amber blazing around the rims like a fiery halo. Her heated gaze almost missed Snowthorn entirely, but caught onto him last second like barbed wire. She looked him up and down, "Wow, you look stunning today, you ready to go?" her smile widened when she said it, shifting into a genuine, contagious grin.
(It can just be the two of them checking a border!)

As she approached, Snowthorn's eyes lasered onto her. She was captivating from the waves of curls to the artistic pattern of her pelt. But her eyes were hypnotizing. There were very few cats that could hold a candle to her beauty and the imperial had never dared to look too long. Now, with their assigned task, it didn't seem too rude to stare. His whiskers twitched as he thought about what she might see when she looked at him. He was a handsome cat, slender but toned, and his pale blue eyes were his best asset. Compared to her though, his white fur with few and faint grey stripes were hardly breath-taking.
The compliment caught him off guard and he was surprised by how genuine it sounded. His ears fluttered and he mimicked her smile. "Thank you. As do you," he said. Once the flattery wore off, he processed the rest of her words. "Will it just be us today?" Snowthorn stood to show he was ready no matter her response.
"Just the two of us," Sweetiepeach confirmed. Her voice was coated in sweetness that bordered between a whisper and a growl. Her voice was raspy, a natural seductive tone, pleasing to the ear, an addictive sound. She strode past him, her walk familiar to that of a royal bengal tiger, long delicate strides as though walking on a tight rope. She was a she-cat raised in the public eye since birth, it was no surprise that at all times she knew how to maintain pure concentrated perfection.
Sweetiepeach instinctively headed to SunClan's borders, no one ever really went to MoonClan's border. There weren't a lot of MoonClan cats so they typically never hunted enough for them to run out of food and consider stealing DayClan's prey. They were also the least likely to damage their border with their scent because their border was largely separated by water unlike with SunClan where they were always visiting DayClan. She could still remember when SunClan had been a vile enemy, but since Foxstar stepped down Littlestar had been a practical leader who in Sweetiepeach's eyes was worthy of being allies to them. "I hope we don't run into any NightClan cats. Last time my patrol had to drive them out from White Tree, they don't even want it for any other reason than to annoy us," She complained. After all, the easiest way to make a new friend was to find a common "enemy" for both to complain about.

Snowthorn's ears perked forward in surprise. He was used to going on patrols with around three other cats, but he supposed Sweetiepeach was so skilled that she didn't need a crowd. As they walked, he couldn't help but notice how poised she was. There was no effort of forcing her grace either; something Snowthorn deeply admired. He wondered why she hadn't achieved an imperial status, for she looked the part and behaved as sweetly as her name implied. "NightClan," he scoffed. "Those cats have always been a nuisance." The pattern of them intruding had always left a sour taste in Snowthorn's mouth. It was as if some or all of NightClan was itching for a war.
"Last time their deputy Firewind had the audacity to get sharp with me," She laughed short and sweet with a quiet curl of her lip, "He turned tail back home after the look I gave to him."
Her tail touched his briefly by mistake, but she didn't give Snowthorn more room. She was comfortable with their closeness like he were her shadow. Prey rustled around them as they neared the border, but Sweetiepeach took little care or notice. Unlike most clans prey was a low concern thanks to the Animal Whisperers. When she arrived at the border her tail raised immediately at the sight of a NightClan she-cat not far. There was no reason for her to be as close as she was when their clans didn't neighbor next to each other.

Snowthorn had been so caught up in his annoyance with NightClan, that he hadn't realized how close their proximity had become. When her tail brushed his, he glanced over but she didn't move away so neither did he. Her fur was soft against his side, comfortably warm even with the humidity in the air. It was the closest he'd been to a she-cat outside his family, which made him a little nervous. But Sweetiepeach's behavior was what he'd wanted. He pulled himself from his internal struggle and laughed at her commentary. Snowthorn would have liked to see that; Firewind scrambling away with his tail tucked between his legs.
Speaking of NightClan... The same moment Sweetiepeach's tail rose, Snowthorn saw the NightClan she-cat. The fur on his spine bristled at the sight, but he stayed where he was. They were downwind of the she-cat, so she had yet to notice them. "Want to give her a look too?" he suggested in a whisper. A hint of a challenge was in his tone. He wanted to see if she was all talk or if the Bright Brigade was as good as they said they were.
Sweetiepeach grinned at him, her claws pinched his cheek briefly, but they smooth and the motion playful, "Sounds like a deal, don't get scared on me."
Carefully Sweetiepeach circled to the other side of the she-cat so she would sense her scent let alone expect her presence from this angle. She could only scent the she-cat, not wanting to make peer out and possibly reveal herself. Pouncing out of the tall grass she rolled twice with the she-cat just to scare her a bit. If it were any other clan she would have simply approached, but NightClan cats only came to cause trouble now a days. However staring up at her was Tigerlily, her niece and also a professional kiss up. "Oh, it's you," She said with a bored tone before stepping off.
"Here I thought DayClan was peaceful," Tigerlily purred. Her accent was French, but her voice was tenderly slow like a lullaby. She looked much different than Sweetiepeach, a white bengal groomed to kittypet perfection. Her crystalline ice blue eyes were stunning like two frozen planets out in the galaxy
"She's my niece, her dad made her move to NightClan," Sweetiepeach explained. She didn't want to blame Tigerlily for living in NightClan when she had no choice to. But at the same time she had seen clearly that Tigerlily wasn't afraid to insult DayClan cats, which was a choice.

His eyes narrowed slightly at the pinching of his cheek. He wasn't a tiny kit and he certainly didn't need to be treated like one. It probably wasn't her intention though, he decided and forced a smile. As Sweetiepeach set into action, Snowthorn's piercing gaze followed her. The she-cat's approach appeared effortless and smooth as she circled the NightClan cat. He started to clear the distance between himself and them as the two started rolling together. Snowthorn doubted she'd need help, but he had to be ready just in case.
He blinked, bemused, as the she-cats got off each other and started talking. What? His ear flicked as Sweetiepeach directed a brief explanation to him. It did nothing to reassure him though. Niece or not, this cat was from NightClan--the very clan they had just been bashing on the way here. A retort was at the tip of his tongue, but he was supposed to be wooing his clanmate, not offending her and her family. Still, the NightClan cat was well aware of his presence now, so he stood straighter and walked up to the pair. His eyes were fixed on the bengal, and he made no effort to hide the steeliness of his gaze.
"Then shouldn't she be there?" he asked almost innocently, trying to seem polite.
"Your territory is neutral, is it not?" Tigerlily asked, her voice rhythmic like a song. She placed her claw delicately on her lip in thought before sheathing it and placing her paw back on the ground, "If my presence has brought you fear though I will step away," She assured them, the white bengal twirled on her toes to move back to NightClan's border.
In one fluid movement Sweetiepeach slammed Tigerlily onto the dirt ground, her claws jaws in her scruff. When she let go of Tigerlily she had her paw pressing down on the side of the she-cats head. Before she even began to question Tigerlily she looked back at Snowthorn, "Do you have a problem with how I treat entitled intruders or can I proceed free of judgment?" She asked, a smile playing at her lips, but her eyes blazed with danger. She had Sweetie in the name, but definitely wasn't afraid to act when someone gave her attitude.

Tigerlily's voice was something, and Snowthorn was somewhat surprised by her mannerisms. Whenever he'd had to deal with NightClan cats, they'd come off as quick-tempered brutes. This she-cat had an attitude, sure, but she didn't really seem like she was from NightClan. She smelled like it though. That, plus the mention of DayClan's neutral territory, kept him very much on edge.
As the bengal turned, the rising sun made her fur glisten like snow. Sweetiepeach lunged at Tigerlily and had her pinned before Snowthorn was out of his trance-like state. The skill the she-cat had shone was a firm reminder of what he was supposed to be focusing on. He matched his clanmate's smile as she spoke to him, and it was refreshingly genuine. He hadn't expected her to treat her niece so fiercely and it made him respect her more than he thought he ever would. "Oh, do go on!" he purred. "You'll receive no ill judgement from me."
Sweetiepeach felt Tigerlily struggle beneath her paws, but was caught off guard by how weak the attempt was. It was clear the NightClan cat had no warrior training, which felt impossible. What did she serve to NightClan if she couldn't fight? Deciding to get some answers before roughening her up she tilted Tigerlily's head back, exposing her neck to make her squirm more, but instead Tigerlily seemed to give up and lie her head flat. "What do you do in NightClan? Answer honestly, I'll know if you're lying."
That was a lie, she would have no clue where to begin to tell if someone was lying, but most people believed her.
"I serve Flamingstar. I cut up her prey for her to eat, I prepare fresh nesting material daily, I sharpen her claws, things like that," Tigerlily said immediately.
Her breath came out sharp as Sweetiepeach's claws neared her throat, "Is there anything else you'd like to add to that?" Sweetiepeach asked.
Tigerlily stared up at Sweetiepeach before making a no noise.
Snowthorn didn't initially see what Sweetiepeach did, but he could hear the high pitch injured whine from Tigerlily before Sweetiepeach stepped back from her. Below Tigerlily's eye she had a deep cut, it just barely missed her eye. Although her tail was between her legs there was weirdly enough no fear scent. "Go back home, next time come back with genuine manners," Sweetiepeach said.
Tigerlily was quick to get up and run. As soon as she left Sweetiepeach turned back to Snowthorn with a smirk, "Thanks for the no judgment," She purred as she walked past him, her tail running across his spine briefly.

Snowthorn scowled while Tigerlily answered the question, not liking the answer. If she was telling the truth, then he couldn't blame the she-cat for being so close to DayClan's border. Maybe she'd been thinking about coming back... Startled slightly by the pained whine, the Imperial's chest tightened as the deep gash on her cheek became visible to him. He shouldn't feel bad for her, but he couldn't help it as aggravating as that was. Though, he felt even more conflicted at the lack of a fear scent as Tigerlily retreated.
"It's no problem," he said with his smile back in place. "You handled that well." A purr rumbled in his throat as Sweetiepeach's tail brushed his spine, but as he joined her in walking, he decided to keep at her heels. He was still in deep thought about the whole encounter and to him, something felt off. "If we can trust what she said, then it sounds like your niece is more of a slave than a warrior," he muttered.
"I'm not sure," Sweetiepeach admitted, "Her father was a Renegade cat, he was two commanders son, carried an elite spy position, he had everything going for him. But on his graduation day, when he was made a spy he snapped, he massacred his own members, his own siblings. They believed he killed for a girl he was stalking and from that stalking Tigerlily was born. But when you're born to someone like that... Well I'm not sure if she's a victim or just as much of a faker as her father is. I'm not sure what's better to hope for."
Her gaze turned somber, she did care about Tigerlily, but she stayed away from that side of the family. Her ears perked up, "But Ianius is actually Tigerlily's brother. I'll let him know and he can decide if she's safe, no one trustworthy would know her better."

Sweetiepeach's story made Snowthorn feel even more torn. He still felt bad(?) for Tigerlily, but now he was suspicious of her character too. More so than before anyway. Could she have been lying? Possibly even faking weakness? NightClan was all about training strong, ruthless warriors so he couldn't imagine any of their cats being so defenseless. Was it possible that Snowthorn had seen a pretty face and fallen for whatever trick she was playing...? His jaw clenched in anger. His strength was supposed to be his mind and ability to observe and manipulate others. A pretty face shouldn't have been enough to take that away from him.
"That's a good idea," he said. "We don't need to distract ourselves with an enemy's problem. Let Ianius handle it if he wants to."
Sweetiepeach nudged Snowthorn playfully, "You going to ask me out or what?" She had a long knowing smile, like she could see right through a person, it was almost menacing. "I see the way you look at me and I get it, you're imperial, so if you're holding out for a classier honey I'm not offended. It's hard to score a top notch class when I carry my teeth like I did back there in public."
Her wispy black tail flicked dismissively, trying to play it cool, like one way or another it didn't matter. But she had enjoyed Snowthorn's company, but more than that he interested her. There was something off about him in an exciting kind of sense that she wanted to explore.

Snowthorn, tense with his earlier irritation, nearly fell over when she nudged him. He gawked at the she-cat as if she'd just grown a second head, because was he hearing her right? She wanted him to ask her out? Recollecting himself, he stood up a little straighter. He couldn't plaster on his usual smile with how flustered he was feeling though, so it seemed a bit shaky. Romance was so far out of his comfort zone. Never once had he ever pursued someone in this way and his heart was beating so fast he thought his ribs might break. It was a good thing she brought this topic up because he wasn't sure he would have been able to.
His first thought was to compliment her teeth since she'd brought them up, but he quickly scrapped that idea.
"Was I really so obvious?" he asked with a breathy laugh. Clearing his throat, the Imperial stepped closer to her with a stronger smile and a glint in his eyes. "I would have asked sooner but I wasn't sure if you'd be interested in someone like me. With your experience as a warrior and with so much beauty, I thought you might have a dozen suitors vying for your attention."
"Lots of lookers, never any takers," Sweetiepeach purred.
She walked closer to him, her muzzle close to his ear, "I'll take you any day of the week though." She moved away from him, a slow smile across her lips before she lost her composure and laughed at her own flirtatious nature, "Really though, I'd love to go out with you."
(After your reply I can make the kitting thread with Sweetiepeach's litter. We can say from this thread to the kitting thread that a moon has passed since this thread does take place in the past since it was made July 8th. They could have been dating for that moon and then the kits happen)

Grinning from the ego boost, Snowthorn could feel his confidence growing and with it, his nerves vanished. This she-cat obviously liked him, so why did he need to worry? Laughing with her, he stepped forward until the distance between them was closed yet again. "Great," he purred, touching his forehead to hers. "My whole day's got your name on it if you're so eager." Then with a quick nuzzle, he moved away and threw a mischievous smile her way.
