Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
This is purely for my own sanity and its something I have to get off my chest in order to not delve into a deep depression.
My dog was euthanized this morning due to being too far gone with cancer in the spleen. I am deeply saddened by this, of course, but I will try to not let it affect me too much. My only regret is that I didn't catch onto it sooner. What I thought was just behavior due to an ear infection turned into something a lot worse and I didn't look into it further. However, I knew he was getting older and slowing down with his age so it was only a matter of time. I was hoping he would peacefully pass away in his sleep during one of the nights, but he was in too much pain to do that. Watching him struggle hurt me to watch. This past week has probably been the hardest for me, but at least I know he's in a better place and his suffering has ended. It was an amazing 12 years. Rest up, best friend.
