Mysterypaw had turned visible just as Everlastingfire neared her. The black apprentice puffed up her fur, her already large size looking a little larger, even without the magical effect of the amulet that was now in Astralbelly's paws. She turned and hissed at him. "Come and try to fight me then!" She challenged, "I won't give you back your amulet!" She said bluffing that she still had it.

Astralbelly saw the amulet soaring ahead of her and let out a giggle, jumping and grabbing it gracefully. It was then that suddenly a range of little forest animals appeared around her. Her eyes twinkled and she whispered a name to them. Suddenly, these little creatures were dancing and attempting to carry Everlastingfire around the camp to keep him distracted. Astralbelly let out a little purr and bounded along, searching for the next person to toss the amulet to.
The animals carrying Everlastingfire suddenly paused in place, another paw rested over the amulet.
"My turn."
Her emerald gaze glistened, majestic as starlight. She stepped forward towards Everlastingfire filling the distance between them. They were only four mouse lengths apart, but within the distance it was clear their energies did not merge. The wind lost its momentum in Everlastingfire's space while in Glowstar's space Everlastingfire's illusions unraveled. An air of harmony buzzed against the glorious energy that emitted from Everlastingfire like two positive magnetic forces repelling the other. Truly, it was poetic, for all his holy power it could not mix with her harmony.
Standing in front of Everlastingfire she looked powerful, like the universe itself would part way for her. There was such an unwavering certainty in her aura, like she already knew how this was going to end. Fearless because she could handle this, kind because she wasn't afraid. Yet nothing about her had changed, this was her without the amulets power revealed.
Very gently Glowstar placed her paw over Everlastingfire and although there was some distance between them that made this a bit of a stretch her touch felt comforting all the same. "I know you want this power to change DayClan, to do good, to prove yourself. But you already have all those things in your paws. Look at who you really are, you have a fire in your heart that whenever you get knocked down you just get right back up. You don't need to be powerful, you already are powerful. And the only person in this clan who doesn't think you're capable of changing the world is you. This Everlastingfire persona isn't you, I think if you led with your heart and stayed true to yourself DayClan would love the real you."
Glowstar held out her paw for his gemstone, "Be who you are."

He didn't look right. Like his face was melting in parts, only hanging on by the strings of flesh left. It was disturbing. But Goldenphantom stood her ground. Her fur puffed up, trapping more of the horrendous heat that seemed to surround her. He could scowl all he wanted, kill her with those eyes that were stuck in his skull. There was no sympathy in her dark brown eyes. It let her think, only so briefly. It was on the tip of her tongue, and her mouth opened to say something more. But then Everlastingfire bolted, and her brief pause cost her being able to catch him. Biting her tongue, some curse on her tongue for herself, she spun on her heel and chased after him. Flashes of different animals appeared around her briefly before scurrying off into the ether. Glowstar had the amulet. It'd be a relief if she ran, if Goldenphantom had any faith in Everlastingfire. But she didn't, and she pushed into that air briefly. A harmonious air that felt like it was almost pushing her out. So the Council member ended up standing a few steps away from Glowstar, not particularly paying attention to the scene playing out. Just waiting for him to move, to try anything that she could make him regret.
Everlastingfire lashed out blindly as he felt the animals lift him up but in his panic was unable to land a single blow. It was all just too much. He couldn't fight, keep track of the amulet and maintain his illusion, in fact he would struggle with any one of them individually at this point. He felt tears of frustration bite at the corner of his eyes but at least that was an expression he had mastered hiding. It was literally all he could do. He'd lost control... This was it...
But then the animals dispersed. Everlastingfire wasted no time scrambling back to his paws, auburn-ginger fur jutting out every which way, disheveled. His expression was stoic and unyielding. Clearly a mask. Next he felt the air shift. He didn't mean to unsheathe his claws but soon they were his anchor, holding him in place and upright, as he felt the little power he had left begin to be ripped away from him. There wasn't an actual breeze of course, but it was the best way to describe it, it went through him and back to the amulet in Glowstar's possession. He resisted for only a few moments before he let it all go.
Bloodyrondo would not admit this, but he was glad that this was over. He talked a big talk and walked a big walk but even at his highest points he still felt low. It was borrowed power to begin with. No, stolen power. It wasn't like the Sun God had blessed him and sent him on a holy mission. He saw an opportunity and took it, simple as that. And these were his results. He realized then that Glowstar's paw was resting on his and he quickly pulled it away, stumbling back a few paces. Bloodyrondo did his best to look confident as always but he just couldn't bring himself to raise his tail high or keep his ears erect. Right now he looked like any other cat, no body paint, no glitz or glamour. Nobody.
"I don't need your pity. I know I am strong with or without that power." Bloodyrondo growled, taking another step back. The last thing he wanted to do was run away but the eyes of DayClan burning into his pelt made it clear that he had overstayed his welcome, "It's DayClan that's the problem. That's right... some day you will all see things my... the Sun God's way. And I'll be just on the other side of the border for when you are ready to beg for his forgiveness. You may win this time but don't think that means I'm giving up." Towards the end he began to lose steam but his eyes, watery as the were, held unshakeable determination. That everlasting fire, "Now, Strikhedoniadalisay, I'll have you return the amulet to me. Don't worry, I am not going to use it. I just need to return it to its rightful owner."
Glowstar nodded with a kind expression that seemed to say, of course you do dearie in stereotypical mother fashion.
"Now, Strikhedoniadalisay, I'll have you return the amulet to me. Don't worry, I am not going to use it. I just need to return it to its rightful owner."
Glowstar laughed briefly, the only time a SunClan cat in superiority would call her Strikhedoniadalisay was to remind her of her place. In all of the other clans she was clan leader of DayClan. But to SunClan she was something closer to a general. High in power, a provider, but still reported to Littlestar. To them, she was not equal to Littlestar, but in fairness to SunClan, no clan leader was equal in status to Littlestar. So in other words, calling her by her SunClan name was a passive aggressive way of disrespecting her.
"Is that a demand Priest Promise?" Glowstar asked, her eyes glittered in amusement, but she continued on, "I don't want the amulet returned. This didn't belong to Pandora and Bluejay and this didn't belong to the Sun God either. This is stolen from Absum Lux, but they're gone now. I would like to hold onto it and decide what I am going to do with the amulet. I understand that since I was initiated into SunClan that you're above me, but this is my clan you're on. May I please hold onto both halves priest promise Bloodyrondo?" She bowed her head deeply to him to avoid him seeing the laughter building up. That was almost too much to bare, but she was giddy with excitement for his answer.
"Yes, it is a demand," Bloodyrondo growled and tried to swipe the amulet away from Glowstar, although he was exhausted and didn't even come close to stealing it back. He stumbled. As the adrenaline began to fade he felt totally hollow, like a sheath without its sword. If he didn't leave DayClan soon it was unlikely he'd have enough strength to make it back the SunClan by himself, "Absum Lux is gone and the Sun God claimed its power many moons ago. It has a new owner and he wants it back. If you won't give it back to me then at least come with me back to SunClan so you can give it back to our god yourself."
"For you Bloodyrondo, I will make sure this amulet is given to someone worthy."
Glowstar lifted her head up before swiping the other half from Bloodyrondo and tossed the whole amulet into the air, but instead of following gravity the jewelry floated, "Let any cat who has compassion from heartache, honesty from betrayal, righteousness from injustice, and wisdom from failures find you beneath their paws in the wheat. But for those who do not understand suffering, what it means to love, try, lose, and love again only stumble upon stones and twigs."
The amulet twinkled in the sunlight before launching into the wheat field. For some cats they could still see it twinkling far away, but for most it was gone.
"Sunny G can find the amulet himself. Shouldn't be hard for someone as virtuous as our God to find the amulet," Glowstar said.

It was a pitiful attempt on his part, though Goldenphantom did jump forward to block Bloodyrondo. She knew Glowstar wouldn't be offended by his words, but she definitely was. Cause if looks could kill, Bloody would be little more than a pile on the ground. But she kept quiet, till the amulet twinkled off in the distance. "And what about wannabe Sunny D here?"
