Skeletonpaw felt his way along the edge of camp, the darkness of the night making it difficult to find his footing among the undergrowth. "Oops." He gasped as he tripped and tumbled his way along. The black and white tom knew he ought to get used to hunting at night so he decided to pick the darkest corner of camp to practice his hunter's crouch and moving quietly. Unfortunately, he had probably disrupted the sleep of many warriors, elders, kits, and apprentices alike in the process.
Nearby, a pair of big green eyes kept following Skeletonpaw. The young she-cat had been watching him attentively, mimicking his every move, practicing her hunters crouch as well. Being relatively new to the Clan and had only just begun hunting tiny mice for the first time in her life, she had a strong ambition to become one of the best hunters. Pixielight had been spoiled as a lonely kitty-pet, getting fed on command in her previous home. She was not yet used to living among so many cats, and didn't want to burden them by asking for help. She continued to follow his movement, still under the impression that he couldn't see her staring.

A few more trips and tumbles later, Skeletonpaw finally thought he had it. "Yes! I'm going to impress Seapaw tomorrow for sure! She'll be so jealous." He purred cheerily, unaware if his sister could hear him or not. He decided to try the move one more time. Ya know, just for good measure. It was then that his paw slipped on something wet and he went tumbling head-first into a pile of mud from the recent rains.
Despite that fact he was just clumsy, Pixielight genuinely believed what he was doing was a unique style of hunting. She blinked slowly as she watched the apprentice fly into the pile of mud "Oh goodness!" She bounded over to him quickly, using her paw to wipe the mud off his eyes. "Is this part of your training?" She asked, tilting her head to the side. Should she also go into the mud? Is it a way to hide their scent from the prey? She had so many questions.

Skeletonpaw nearly jumped out of his fur as Pixielight rushed up to him. After taking a moment to release the breath he had been subconsciously holding in, he gave her a nod of gratefulness. "Ah, no I'm just terribly uncoordinated." He answered with a laugh. "Were you watching me this whole time?" His eyes widened at the thought. As a warrior he would have to be able to scent if someone was following him and he somehow completely missed her scent.
