It was rare he found himself this far up the mountain. Normally, it just towered over him as he sat by the basin that was Primal Instinct's territory. Today, he skirted along the heavy border, the trees above him in full glory for the nearing summer. For as much as the place was named Fallclan, it was able to shine in most of the seasons. Normally, he'd be out hunting for herbs. Okay, stealing herbs. Or sweet talking whoever crossed his path. But the feather tied behind his ear reminded him that it wasn't so easy anymore. So, he settled for swiping a mushroom or two from between the roots of trees.

Calamitystar had decided to take some time to think and left camp earlier that morning. He had spent most of his day out before a familiar, but unfamiliar to Fallclan scent met his nose. He angled his ears towards the source and heard the light tapping of paws along the border. Feeling intrigued, the bright-eyed tom wove his way through the undergrowth to meet the form of none other than Funk E'tan himself. "Why, hello there." His voice was smooth as he stepped out to greet the Primal Instincts leader with a curious, playful look. "It's unusual to see you out here, but I've been lookin for a chance to get to know you so why not now?" He gave a cheeky smile and sat down on the Fallclan side of the border, his tail wrapping neatly around his paws as he did so.

Ah, what a surprise. Though not really, Funk had a knack for meeting leaders the instant he crossed into their lands. Never could figure out why. So when the smell of Fallclan got stronger, he didn't question it. Nor did his expression change when a pair of bright eyes stared back at him. Funk had seen the other leader at the gatherings, though there was not much to speak about between Fallclan and the League. "And it's unusual to see you in general." His voice held no ill will, a smile gracing his features and a taste of humor in his voice. Though he didn't immediately sit down. "Curious, though. What are you hoping to find?" He tilted his head.

Cal grinned, already enjoying Funk's company despite hardly meeting him. "Well..." He started rather seriously, tail thumping against the ground thoughtfully, before flipping a complete switch and turning a cheery smile towards the other tom. "EVERYTHING. Tell me everything about you, the great Funk E'tan! I always hear how COOL you are and how FUN you are!! It's no fairrrrrr, I haven't gotten to be in on the funnn yet! I happen to think I'm LOADS of fun...although my clan might disagree. Chim thinks I'm amazing, of course. Glowstar likes me too. I think that's a good sign, right? But you, you're all the rage. Please let me in on all your secrets!" Everything came tumbling out like water behind a dam as he launched into the blabbering.

ah... a talkative one.
Praise may not have been the smartest way to get Funk to listen. With an ego already massively inflated by himself, any extra praise only made it worse. Close to impossible for him to see any flaws in the perfect portrait that was him. Of course, Calamitystar wanted to know everything, who wouldn't? Of course, Glow liking him was a good sign. A friend of her's could easily become a friend of his', or a test subject. Though he tried to lean towards the former these days. Chim was one that still hadn't come around to him yet, but the Nemesis figured that was just a matter of time.
Still, for as regal and charming of a past as it was, Funk knew it was also offputting. So he smiled through the blabbering, and only rose for air when it started to slow. "They don't, huh? Quite a shame." Even with the smile, it didn't reach his tone. It wasn't deep, but he was intrigued. "Talk is cheap though. And seeing is believing." Funk kept on his paws, lightly circling around Cal. "What do you do around here anyway?"
