Newleaf has arrived at last and it’s time to celebrate! Thistlestar and Ratstar have planned a peaceful picnic at the edge of the lake with fun activities and endless fresh kill to go around for everyone. The event is open to all ages, from the youngest of kits to the retired elders. This is the perfect opportunity to befriend new cats and build up alliances. All is well and fun until Swiftclan stumbles across the picnic and with the blessings of both Summerclan and Springclan leaders, join in on the fun bringing along fresh kill of their own.

Softpelt had taken the task of gathering the materials for flower crowns a few days in advance of when Thistlestar informed them it would be taking place (along with his request that they help run the Flower Crown crafts).
Now with the day of the lovely events, Softpelt had set out the lovely flowers she'd gathered yesterday making neat piles for the cats to pick from. She had gathered a large supply that she tucked away for now, leaving smaller piles out to pick from (to avoid a big mess from too many flowers in one area).
She purred as she looked at her work. Daisies, roses, violets, tulips, and a wide assortment of flowers formed a large ring around the two medicine cats with them in the center easily able to assist with anyone needing help in the creation.
"There, I think we're ready for when cats arrive," The fluffy white she cat declared glancing around to see if Fawnheart had finished her work in the medicine cat den to come out and join Softpelt.
For those who knew him it was an odd sight to see Heatedkit approaching the group hosting the flower crown crafts, the hot tempered Swiftclan kit had been moody the whole way here but slipped away from his clanmates when he noticed the flowers. "Is making one of these hard?" He blurted towards Softpelt, a stranger but the only feline in range.
"I've had my eyes on these ever since I saw you prepping them," Oceanicbreeze said as he made his way over. He was a newly made SpringClan warrior and appeared shy in his history only offering that he was a loner, but it was easy for many to piece his past together. He was freakishly tall with slick as feathers blue grey fur and a muscle toned build, he was the perfect image of what a WaterClan warrior looked like and his name definitely suggested it. He didn't want anyone's pity though or for cats to ask him why he waited for so long to join back into a clan again so he had preferred to say nothing and for the most part it seemed SpringClan respectfully opted not to ask questions.
Oceanicbreeze settled beside Softpelt and grinned at Heatedkit nervously, "Let's try."
Mossbreeze stepped forward towards the growing group of cats that surrounded the piles of bright and colorful flowers. Cloverkit followed closely to her mother's side, refreshed from playing with the other kits in the clearing. The two sat along side the familiarness of Oceanicbreeze, a new warrior who joined Springclan a short time ago. The queen learned of the tom's pleasant nature and she naturally trusted him company.
At the sight of the other kit, Cloverkit left her mother's side, instead choosing to plop next to Heatedkit's side, her curious nature refusing to let her miss an opportunity to meet a new face. "Hello! My name is Cloverkit!" She meowed excitingly, taking in the form and scents of the foreign cat
Heated kit lifted his dark ginger head to look at Oceanicbreeze, slightly taken aback by his words and the overall size of the tom. "Yea... sure." As usual he was curt with his words and even took it a step further by putting a little more distance between him and the Springclan tom. He was embarrassed to be seen near the flowers but since it was only one other person he figured it would be okay, that is until Mossbreeze and the other kit showed up.
He ignored them as best he could until Cloverkit plopped down beside him and introduced herself. His ginger stripped pelt bristled a little as he looked at her, wondering if all Springclan cats were as chummy as these three. "I'm Heatedkit..."
"Sorry, I'm late" came the frazzled voice of Fawnheart as she rushed over from the medicine den. Her fur was a mess and she had pieces of herbs stuck in her tangles. She was plucking them out as she hurried over. "All these new buds popping up with new-leaf has got me so busy! I'm finally finished and I can take the day to relax." She panted, trying to catch her breath as she took a seat among the gathering cats. "And help you with the flower crowns of course" Fawnheart chuckled to Softpelt. Her honey glazed eyes scanned their group. It seemed like she managed to make it over here before they began crafting. "Who all has done this before?" She asked, addressing their group.

SUMMERCLAN
Twisterkit had quietly tagged along to the craft project, he was a sucker for flowers and made an attempt once or twice to make a flower crown. When Fawnheart asked her question the tom waved his tail uncertainly, "I-I have tried. But they never look good, they don't stay together all that well."
Roachpelt sat beside the kit, the old elder was Twisterkit's very best friend, according to the young cat, and so Roachpelt had said yes when asked by Twisterkit to come to the craft project with him.
"Heatedkit..." Cloverkit echoed slowly, mentally taking note of the kit's appearance and name together in hopes of retaining the new information in her mind. "That is a cool name!" She quipped happily, her dark grey tail swaying in content behind her as she stared at the kit more intensely. Before she could speak her mind more, Fawnheart's late entrance caught her attention, causing her to turn her head to face Fawnheart, a wide smile growing across her expression "That is Fawnheart, she is one of our medicine cats." She whispered to Heatedkit "She is really nice!"
The short haired, grey kit's ear perked as she heard a new, small voice, leaning back to see a new kit arrive with a older looking cat. Her curious gaze widened as she took in the other kit with new intensity. "I've never made flower crowns before!" Cloverkit spoke up unabashedly, looking up at Fawnheart, a hint of worry dripping from her admission.
"Well, your about to learn today!" Fawnheart purred, giving Cloverkit a wink. "First, we all need to take a vine and pick out your favorite flowers. Please be careful not to mess up these beautifully neat piles Softpelt worked so hard to make. You'll need to pick enough flowers to cover your crown. We also have some leaves for fillers."
Grasskit nearly tripped over his own paws in his rush to join the other kits in making flower crowns. His frantic sprint grew even faster when he spotted Twisterkit and elder Roachpelt up again, having to skid to an uncontrollable stop before he crashed into someone. The mischievous dark-brown kit had been planning to sneak away from his totally overprotective parents in order to join in on the event, but about half-way there he had grown cold feet and scampered back to tell his mother Mudthistle where he was going. Not that he totally couldn't have snuck out if he wanted to! But...with so many cats around, he didn't want to start a panic looking for him. That was totally it.
With a friendly grin, the young tom settled next to Twisterkit and Cloverkit, a Springclan kit he had met earlier in the day. "Hey! Hey! I didn't miss anything yet, did I?"
Cloverkit giggled at Fawnheart's wink, radiating with overwhelming content as she watched on, focusing hard on the instructions given to her. Her eyes gazed over the piles, stopping at the pile of Cherry Blossoms "Ooo oo oo!" Cloverkit perked up, her bright green eyes wide as she reached out towards the pretty, pink flowers, batting one over between her and Heatedkit "Look Heatedkit! This is a Cherry Blossom!" She pointed out excitingly, staring up at the kit and back down to the flower in between them "My momma says they only grow in Springclan, right mama?" She called out loudly, looking back at her mother who sat laughing to herself before offering a small nod.
"Aaaand Cherry Blossoms are super special because they only grow in the new-leaf time huh Fawnheart?!" Cloverkit rambled on excitingly.
Fawnheart greeted the new kit with a nod before turning to Cloverkit who was showing off a cherry blossom to another kit. "That's right, Cloverkit. Very good." Fawnheart was intrigued by the Kit's knowledge of that specific flower. She seemed to be incredibly smart. "Plus, these cherry blossoms look great on you" She placed one of the cherry blossoms in Cloverkit's fluffy kitten fur. "Perhaps this would be a good flower to use in your crown."
(OMG, how cute would it be if Cloverkit wanted to grow up to be a medicine cat XD )
Oceanicbreeze lied on the floor completely in the zone at this point. He had already weaved himself a cherry blossom crown and then experimented with creating an ombre effect using blue flowers. Now he was working on two small crowns as anklets for his paws. The process was just outright obsessive, he could remember back in camp making different types of nests and experimenting with which branches were better. Now with flower crown making there were an entirely different aspects to explore.

Twisterkit was arranging several flowers with an intense look on his face, looking often to Roachpelt for approval. The elder nodded every time but still Twisterkit rearranged the flowers and discarded some while getting new ones. "Gotta get the colors right," he mewed matter-of-factly, "Roachpelt can you grab something yellow? I think it'll make the crown really pop!"
The long suffering elder sighed, eyes full of mirth, before padding over to the flowers. He chose a few different yellows and retreated back to the kit, who was gazing at what looked like plain ferns with his tongue sticking out in his concentration.
Spot - I would be weeaaaak in the knees due to the overload of cuteness ;o; <3 ___________________________
SPRINGCLAN SpotFaith Cloverkit giggled as the medicine cat placed a cherry blossom into her pelt, twirling slowly as she showed off the pretty flower, feeling a strong urge of confidence in herself as she did. She turned down to reach for some flowers for her own crown, excitingly reaching for the cherry blossoms, but paused mid reach as she noticed Oceanicbreeze's quick work, watching as he effortlessly began to weave cherry blossoms together. She watched open mouthed, her eyes wide in awe as she watched him, her grey paw still reaching out, now for nothing in particular as she remained entrance on the Springclanw warrior's work. "Wooow... How did you do that so quickly?" She breathed in wonder, looking up to meet the warrior's gaze and back down to the crown with renewed excitement.
(Lol me too!! XD we always do such cute things with our characters lol!)
Springclan
Fawnheart purred when Cloverkit twirled, happy with the flower. She looked over and saw Twisterkit putting yellow flowers in his flower crown to make it pop. "Excellent choice in color, Twisterkit." She complimented before her honey glazed eyes flicked to Oceanicbreeze. "Wow, Oceanicbreeze. I can tell you've done this before."
