Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Primrosekit was almost a shadow, with the exception of a splash of white on her chest. The young feline squealed with joy as the first rays of dawn-light trickled into the Nursery. Though it was still frosty and chilly in the morning, it didn't stop Primrosekit from rushing out the mouth of the den. It was finally day time! A new day means new adventures. Bouncing on her feet, the wide-eyed cat looked around for a potential playmate.
Opalkit sat tall by himself near a stone in the middle of camp that warriors sun bathed on and kits played off of, his amber eyes watching the camp thoughtfully, his eyes lingering on the pretty, ginger queen that was his mother, who stood across the camp chatting with a couple of warriors, no doubt building some form of relationship in case one of the warriors were to be selected to be his mentor. The idea excited the kit, who was the oldest of the kits in the nursery. Already of apprenticeship age, he was looking forward to his promotion soon, but he couldn't help but be nervous. Having a close relationship with him mother, he knew things would be different as an apprentice. He would no longer be in the company of his mother's side, nor under her watchful, yet controlling gaze. He never truly minded it, but a small part of him grew curious with the chance at more freedom. His thoughts left him in a deep, distracted trance, leaving him vulnerable to his surroundings...
In didn't take Primrosekit long to narrow down on Opalkit. *He must thing he's so special that he's going to be an Apprentice soon.* A mischievous gleam entered the you she-cats eyes. *I'll show him! I'll sneak up and surprise him!* Primrosekit dropped into an awkward crouch, her feet where to far apart and her tail stuck out like a thorn. Let's see, she wanted to sneak up where Opalkit wasn't looking, right? Primrosekit shuffled awkwardly, almost looking like a crab as she drew closer to her quarry. By the time she got close enough to pounce, Primrosekit's legs where starting to cramp and she was breathing like a mythical beast. Satisfied with her position, the mostly black she-kit let out her best battle cry and sprang.
Having been lost in his thoughts, he didn't notice the scent of a small predator creeping up on him. Before the screech of a battle cry broke through the clearing, Opalkit could feel the softest of vibrations in his paws followed by small but heavy breathing. His secret training with Stellerpaw kicked in, causing his mind to immediately snap out of his deep thoughts. Someone was coming. That moment of preparation was enough to brace him when a loud battle cry shot from his side. He dodged the figure smoothly, turning to watch the body of a black she-cat land into the dirt, missing it's target completely.
Opalkit watched wide-eyed, his fur standing up high for a moment before he realized who the familiar figure was "Primrosekit?" Opalkit asked with a small smile "What are you doing?" He asked calmly, but his body language was reserved and cautious as per usual.
The black feline was giggling hysterically on the ground, cover in dirt and dust. Her plan made have failed, but it sure was fun! When Primrosekit finally got back to her senses, she got to her paws. "I was trying to scare you." The kitten answered honestly, still snickering.
Opalkit took in the young kit with innocent interest. She was overtly friendly and playful, everything Opalkit wasn't. A small part of him was envious of the kit's natural social ability. "Well, if you want to scare some next time, you probably would be more successful if you didn't howl before your attempt." He pointed out in a matter of fact kind of way, but there was a sweet, teasing nature to his words. "And you are being much too loud with your breathing- and your steps are heavy!" He crouched in front of the kit as to show an example "You have to stay on your toes when you move, that way you aren't as tempted to put so much weight in your steps." Opalkit's pointers came out perfectly, as if rehearsed. It was all thanks to Stellerpaw who had been nonchalantly teaching him her own apprentice training.
