Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Lovesmitten snuggled closer to Autumngossamer, pressing his nose into her fur. Even though he was grateful to be here, he couldn't help but feel a little uneasy. It was the first time he had been out of SunClan since he was very young. At least his mate seemed more at ease here than in SunClan. He knew much she had worried about Littlestar helping with the kitten, and she was already enduring so much just having these kits. He wasn't even about to show that the current situation made him uncomfortable. This wasn't about him, it was about making the love of his life He had been surprised to be welcomed into dayclan so easily with their alliance on such shaky footing, Some cats glared at them from afar, but no one had yet tried to do more than that.
He smiled, pulling her into an embrace, his paws wrapped around her swollen stomach, a purr rumbling in his throat. He really never thought they would get this far. When she had first found out that she was pregnant, he had even been willing to abort the litter to make her happy even though he would have never have been able to forgive himself for it. It would have been worse to watch her utter misery. He just started to close his eyes when a movement in her side caught his attention.
She had been have false contractions for days now to prepare her for labor, but every time he couldn't help but jump. He raised his head running it lightly over her belly as she slept
Autumngossamer winced in her sleep, gold and red swirled in and out together, she could tell they were two different shapes, but they spiraled in and out of her vision so fast it was hard to make them out. The dream felt more like a feeling than a vision. She could feel the emptiness and then love, feel the power and then emptiness. It was like the feelings without the vision part, out of order and strange. Autumngossamer had always had a logical mind, an ability to tell when she was in a dream and woke herself up relatively easily. She didn't want to focus on whatever that dream was trying to tell her. Feelings could mean anything and it was already disturbing her mind enough. Waking up she wanted to reset her mind so she could have an actual good dream. Her brown gaze caught Lovesmitten's green eyes and she smiled at him, "Jeez, you're still awake I feel like I've slept for hours. We could get a midnight snack, everyone in this clan is like unholy nice, like you could wake someone up and ask them to get you a mouse and if you plead with them enough times they'll actually do it. Some do it on your first request."

"and how am I supposed to sleep when the love of my life is doing all of the hard work" he teased, slowly stopping his slow massage of her tummy and leaning in to lick her ear "Every time they move around alike that I can't help thinking they are about to arrive" he nodded back
"No we shouldn't bother the DayClan warriors, I can go and fetch us something to eat if you are hungry" he replied nearly jumping to his paws at the though of not fulfilling his duty as her mate. He couldn't help but feel helpless, it was to bad that toms were not allowed to take on some of the burdens of their pregnant partners. All he could do was support her the best that he could and that meant fetching her fresh kill himself.
"No, I'm not hungry, I just wanted to boss someone around. You know how that always makes me feel better," Autumngossamer cooed, but snuggled back up to him, "It's cool though, I'll just go back to sleep, but if you get up to go somewhere just wake me up okay?"

"ok" he purred curling up beside of his mate once more. He laid his head gently on her side, but again the ripples in her side made him lift his head blinking sleepily "Did you feel that?" it was sort of a dumb question, after all it was her body. Of course she would feel the contraction. He nuzzled up against her neck "I don't see how you sleep through them, if its enough to keep me awake I don't see how you sleep through it" a purr rumbled in his throat
"This one feels like it's real though, but so did all the others so just um. Stay alert, but don't get anyone yet," Autumngossamer smiled through the pain at him. It really was hard to tell if this was real or not, the first time felt real, so did the time after that, and the time after that. There had been a lot of feelings of hatred through this, but looking at Lovesmitten, every time those feelings went away and lost all meaning. She loved him and there was no way she wasn't going to do this for him even if she had the option to back out now. "Love, I want you to know that I haven't felt pain a whole lot in my life and I don't know how I'm going to react, so if I say anything negative to you just know that I don't mean any of it, it's the pain talking."

"You can yell and scream and even hurt me if it will make you feel better" he licked her ears soothingly "but what If I told you that I found a way to help with that..." he trailed off, not sure if now was the right time to be bringing this up. One of his ears flicked backwards "I know how scared you are, and you know I would do anything for you... I have done a lot of digging around and I think I found something" he paused looking her in the eye so that she would know he was being serious "I found out about this herb that you could take... It would keep you from feeling any pain, but you would still be able to feel pressure and deliver the kits and its harmless to them. They reason most queens don't use it, is because its difficult to get ahold of. The twolegs grow it in their nests, and you can't find it out in the forest" he rolled over walking over to the wall of the nursery and pulling a mixture of herbs that he had spent so long preparing
"While you were in DayClan apologizing I went on a little journey to find this, and talking with a lot of different medicine cats to make sure that the herbs wouldn't hurt you or the kits. I know you don't trust Littlestar or Foxbane, so I asked medicine cats in other clans as well... They all assure me that this should work." he placed the leaf with the mixture in the nest with them "It was really hard to make, so I didn't want you to take it until it was time...."
"Really?" Autumngossamer asked, still with an untrustworthy expression, but she did leave SunClan so she could feel safer. Everything before felt like a trap, like, oh you turned left, well you should have turned right now you're gonna break your leg on some crack on the ground. Being cursed had that effect on her, but at least after talking with Deal she knew exactly what she needed to do to release her curse. It was too bad she couldn't invest her time into that knowledge now that she was pregnant and soon to be nursing.
"That's so sweet of you Lovesmitten! But let's maybe wait for certain, it would be pretty disappointing if we were wrong and these are false contractions. Do you know how quick the herb takes effect?"
Her claws were unsheathed, she wanted them to be sheathed, but resisting to keep her claws from coming out was too much of an added stress so instead she just kneaded her claws in the nest. Besides if they were coming they were already stationed in the nursery so there was no need to move.

"a few minutes maybe" thought he wasn't entirely certain. It was a mixture of herbs, and each one took a different amount of time to take effect "It's a mixture of things to help you through labor with the rare herb at it's core. The herb I was talking about should be rather immediate, but the others would take some time. They are mostly to help ease anxiety though" ne nuzzled up against her cheek
"Is there anything I can do to help, do you need a massage? Food? Water? Snuggles?" he fretted fussing over her even though he wasn't even sure this was the real deal.
It was... an interesting sort of kitting. If by interesting you meant it was exactly what Autumngossamer had hoped to avoid in the first place, and her worst nightmare.
Within moments of eating the herbs, her kitting was in full swing. If they'd been false contractions before, well, something had certainly spurred her into labor now! Except. Very, very quickly, things went downhill from there. Soon, the Soothsayer would find she couldn't move, frozen in place as the very cats who'd helped prepare the bundle arrived the aid in the kitting. How Littlestar and Foxbane got into DayClan's nursery, they didn't exactly explain, but they were there to help the kitting, and Brakewings was nowhere to be found. Or maybe he just hadn't been called.
When Lovesmitten inevitably ended up freaking out, the former Priestess lifted one ebony paw, pricking it gently against the side of his neck to inject a powerful sedative and he fell to the ground in a heap moments after the first kit came into the world. But it didn't cry, and the kitting queen barely saw it a heartbeat before Foxbane moved the child off to the side, out of sight. And so it went on for the kitting, though after that first kit, time seemed to blur, and Autumngossamer didn't get a chance to see the rest as hushed silence fell over the nursery, broken only by the sounds of the SunClan healers as they worked in unison, as though they'd never been apart.
By the time the sedative began to ease, and the she-cat felt the grip of the paralytics ease with agonizing slowness, Foxbane set down three kits, lavender already laid over their corpses as the stench of death rested heavy in the air. Despite everything they tried to do, the small litter had been stillborn. Not one surviving kit.
"May the Sun God guide them to the Isle and watch over them as if they were his own." The painted Senator's voice was beyond soft as she spoke. To say she was surprised was... a bit of an overstatement. If anyone knew how cruel the Sun God could be with his punishments, it was she. But this. Well, it was beyond what she'd have expected. He wanted to teach her a lesson, so it seemed, and a bitter, sad one at that.
(This top portion was all written before I saw the big STOP and I can digitally prove the time stamps if I need to! xD this was my reaction before knowing anything in the next post)
Autumngossamer teared up and pushed her head into his, "Snuggles please... And for you to be brave," Autumngossamer said, lifting her had up to stare up at him, "I'm really scared and if you get scared I will too, so I just want you to be brave for the both of us even if things get scary. And Love, I just want you to know, worst case scenario that if I die that I wanted this and the most disrespectful thing you can do in my memory is to blame yourself. So don't you dare, we're a team and as team we wanted these kits. I'm so happy to be able to give you kits of your own, it's scary, but it's a great honor to be able to give you this," Her smile was more pure than he had ever seen it. If this had never happened she would have never made Lovesmitten as happy as she was now. They were ready for them. She avoided the bad thoughts that tried to enter her head from previous panic. Not allowing for her to think about the worst case scenarios any further, especially not any stillborns. If she focused on it she would never be able to think positively enough to get through this.
After eating the herbs every limb and nerve had cramped up until she couldn't move or maybe she just couldn't feel. Everything felt tingly, she couldn't even move her jaw to ask Lovesmitten what was going on. However she did feel weirdly calm or maybe that wasn't the right word, she felt light including her feelings. As though everything around her felt less impactful, maybe that was what Lovesmitten meant about the herbs easing her anxiety. It was a strange feeling to know she should be scared and anxious, but hardly feeling the degree of it while simultaneously not feeling anything at all. It was almost like staring out of another cats eyes. She let out a low growl when she could smell the scent of Littlestar, there was no mistaking her priestess. She lied there helplessly whimpering a few times, the light in her eyes gone. Occasionally she saw their paws move around her, she should have felt an urge to ask questions, but she didn't, she felt numb, mind and body with only instinctual feelings remaining.
She could feel each of the herbs effects wearing off, her awareness slowly settling in. It took a few moments before she responded to Foxbane, slow and weak, "Hey... Shut up."
As soon as speech developed she could feel her heart pounding faster and her skin growing hotter as the panic and humiliation set in.

Littlestar
SunClan High Priestess
The Peace Keeper
Littlestar gazed down at the bodies of the newborns, a heaviness in her stomach. She felt like she was going to be sick, at the all to hauntingly familiar scene. Memories of her first kitting, and seeing their three bodies laid out before her, the scent of lavender "Slowly" she reminded her soothsayer, although she seemed distant and far away trying to stop herself from vomiting "Your body has been through a lot, don't force it" she slowly rose to her paws, knowing that she needed to get some fresh air. Glancing over at the red tom laying slumped over next to her nest "He'll wake up in a few moments" she flicked her tail, leaving Foxbane and the nursery behind her to go deal with the other kits
Windchaser was nestled snug in her nest with her kits clustered in the curve of her belly. The ginger and white warrior had been uneasy about sharing a den with Autumngossamer despite their heart to heart talk. She was willing to give Autumn a chance but at a respectable distance. As always, Windchaser had been sleeping lightly in case of anything. In case Autumn changed back or Autumn went into labour or even if Sunclan decided to come after her, she wanted to be ready. Tonight her fears were coming true. At the sound of commotion and the scent of Sunclan, Windchaser immediately shot to her paws, ignoring the mews of protest from her kits. She was ready to attack whoever had disturbed her. Fur bristling, she faced Littlestar and Foxbane. However, they didnt seem to be interested in her. They were messing with Autumn. Out of instinct, she cut the two Sunclan cats off from Autumngossamer. "Back off!" She snarled. "What do you think you are doing in Dayclan camp in the middle of the..." she trailed off when she saw the six lifeless kits and memories of when Foxbane slaughtered her kits flashed before her eyes. A look of pure hatred shown in her eyes when she looked at Foxbane. "What...did you...do!" She growled through gritted teeth, flexing her claws.
Autumngossamer felt sick inside from the smell and the dread weighing on her heart with a kind of gravity that gripped her body more than the sedative. Her entire body felt cold when it wasn't, like her bones were cold, but her skin was hot. She could smell death and knew from what Foxbane said that some of her kits were stillborn, but how dare she pray for them to go to the Isle. She promised to worship the Sun God, but it didn't mean she didn't hate him any less. When she died she'd rather go to the dark forest or turn to nothingness, that rule applied to her kits too. The dark forest had better care takers than the Isle. She hissed, the sound low and feral as Foxbane's words only sank in more. The kind gesture infuriating as emotion twisted into instinct, blurring her judgment entirely. Normally she would be afraid of Foxbane and Littlestar, but while the sedative was in her system all she could feel was a fight flight reaction and she was all fight with luckily no ability to do so.
She wanted to speak, but Littlestar's advice had sank in keeping her mouth shut and her body helpless. Her anger soothed slightly hearing Windchaser's voice and felt safer as she spoke despite her words being heartbreaking, confirming what she feared to be absolutely true. Despite it, all she could think about was Lovesmitten, her gaze was trapped on the floor where she could only lie motionlessly. She had no idea he was knocked out only a few tail lengths away. All she could think was that Littlestar and Foxbane were here to punish her and had already done something to Lovesmitten.
Glowstar was easily woken up by Windchaser and especially since her den was the only one in the middle of camp and by den the den was a tree in the center of camp. Her eyes lit up in surprise at the sight of Littlestar close by the nursery and quickly hurried over. The cool night air wasn't frosty, but it did leave her uncomfortably cold. "Littlestar," Glowstar began with immediate concern in her voice. There was no accusatory tone, anger, or fear that pricked her voice at Littlestar's presence. She looked at her protectively and the only first thing that came natural to Glowstar was looking out for Littlestar. She could catch the scent of lavender as she walked the distance between them, it confused her, but looking at Littlestar's face she could see the deep sorrow plaguing Littlestar's usually fearless copper eyes. Littlestar never caught the last look in Glowstar's eyes whether she was looking for it or not as her entire body curled around Littlestar's petite frame. Glowstar closed her eyes, her embrace warm and tight, the silence between them lingered, not a single word escaping Glowstar's jaws. There was no demand as to what happened, what she was doing here, how she could just blatantly intrude camp so late in the night. She was there for Littlestar, despite how suspicious this was, despite the signs of danger, she didn't ask question, simply held her close until Littlestar was ready to break away. She was and always would be Littlestar's monster, the monster under the nest that sought to protect her.
By the time Windchaser really looked, and Littlestar had left, there were only three kits, not six. No signs of any others remained, if they'd ever existed at all. Foxbane decidedly chose to ignore Autumngossamer's comment a moment, looking at the Immortal Council member as she met the hateful expression with one that was calm and self-assured. There was a heaviness about her, and perhaps a touch of frustration, no signs of feral glee. "Ironically, nothing, for once. At least, nothing any normal medicine cat wouldn't do." Mostly. Not that she really expected to be believed, or truly cared what Windchaser thought, and Foxbane simply sat down, drawing a paw across her face without saying anything more.
(I think Windchaser was suppose to see 6? At least, that's what Faith told me lol! I'm having a hard time following this thread anyway XD)
Windchaser's lips curled back into a snarl, revealing sharp teeth. "You have no business here, Foxbane. I don't recall Autumngossamer sending out invitations to her birthing. Get out!" There was bone chilling bitterness to Windchaser's tone. There was no way she was going to treat Foxbane the same way she would have treated Littlestar if the Sunclan leader were the only one there. Windchaser and Littlestar had mended the tear in their rocky relationship when she had helped Windchaser with her own births. Of course, Windchaser would have been curious and suspicious of why Littlestar had been there in the middle of the night helping with Autumngossamer but she probably wouldn't have suspected the Sunclan leader of murder. However, now that Foxbane was here, Windchaser would absolutely believe that Foxbane murdered Autumngossmaer's kits.
( Yeah, she sees the six, but by the time Foxbane shows the three with lavender, the other three are missing. cx )
"I am here because Littlestar wanted me to be. If it's such an issue, bring it up with her." Foxbane stated, and, rather than leaving, turned and leaned slightly to glance at Lovesmitten's unconscious body. Still breathing, not that she'd have expected any less, but not awake quite yet. "Believe what you will, but I'm here to ensure that Autumngossamer is okay, and I don't see Brakewings here, do you?"
"Littlestar alone would have been fine. You do not belong anywhere near kits!" Windchaser growled. "I can't prove that you killed them but if I find out that you did, I will do to you what I should have done a long time ago..." The glare Windchaser was giving Foxbane was enough to kill. It was a glare of pure hatred and sorrow. Grief and anger for the kits she had lost in the claws of the monster standing before her.
