Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It seemed most of the kits in the nursery didn't have parents, being brought into the clan by coincidence and happenstance. Peachkit and her siblings didn't quite fit into that category, as she saw her mother every day, but it was really as if she didn't have a mother at all. Honeycrisp wanted nothing to do with them, and the kit was rather bad at making friends, which meant that all she had were her siblings. Though, she wasn't really sure how much they wanted to do with her, either. Sometimes, she was sure that they didn't even know she existed, and she couldn't figure out if it was on purpose or not.
As a few flakes of snow fell outside, Peachkit cuddled closer into her cold bedding, deciding that today was the perfect day to stay inside and away from others. It wasn't like the weather was so bad that everyone else would have the same idea, either. No, in fact it was rather nice out, aside from the tiny bit of snow, it just felt cold to the small kit. Cold and lonely, she decided, as she watched with one open eye as other kits left to go catch the flakes.

Magnoliakit sat deliberately in the shadows, watching the other kits bundle out of the nursery excitedly. The kitten looking around for her mother half-heartedly, knowing Honeycrisp would be out living her life and pretending they didn't exist. Rage bubbled in the small cat's chest and she exhaled deeply, closing her eyes briefly. When she opened them she noticed Peachkit. Magnoliakit supposed she should feel affection for her sister, littermates were supposed to care for one another after all. But Magnoliakit didn't care for anything, she was too angry to feel anything beyond that.
And she was currently incredibly pissed off, nearly shaking with the intensity of anger and betrayal and just a general hatred for all things in her life. It needed to come out and shredding leaves wouldn't do it. Her eyes glinted cruelly as she stood, even she wasn't sure what she meant to do, and padded over to her sister with hunched shoulders and careful steps. Like a hunter.
At the sound of approaching pawsteps, Peachkit almost jumped up, but the moment she laid her eyes upon her sister, she quickly disregarded any other ideas she may have had and squeezed her eyes shut. Whatever Magnoliakit was planning, she wasn't sure, but she had a feeling that she wouldn't like it. So, she pretended to still be asleep, although the rapid rise and fall of her chest was a clear giveaway to both her alertness and her current state of fear. If anyone were to look closely enough, they would notice the slight tremble in her small frame as she made herself as tiny as possible. If she could curl in on herself, she would.
It was supposed to be a nice, quiet day. Inside. Alone. Why did Magnoliakit have to see her? Wait. It was possible that her sister was just walking in her general direction, right? She could sneak a peek and make sure, but the image of those cruel eyes returned to Peachkit's mind, and she stayed in her tightly curled up ball, hoping that she could just return to her peace.

Magnoliakit laughed, a high cruel sound unfit for a kit, as she observed her sister's fear. "What a scaredy mouse," Magnoliakit spit, unsheathing her claws and stopping just in front of her sister's face. She bent down and whispered, "open your eyes, Peachkit. It's time to play!" The beautiful she-cat waited, tail lashing, for her smaller and weaker sister to open her eyes, her face only a few inches away from Peachkit's.
She liked this, the fear she could invoke. It gave her power, and she thirsted for it. Magnoliakit intended to make every cat feel this way someday. Magnoliakit would soon make their mother feel like she could make Peachkit feel. It was rather unfortunate for her little sister, she was only collateral damage after all.
Any hope that Peachkit stilled held of not being Magnoliakit's target shattered with the sound of her name on her sister's lips. Something told her that Magnoliakit didn't actually want to play - well, at least not in a way that Peachkit would find enjoyable. Dear Starclan, she was going to die here, wasn't she? She had fully intended on staying curled up, but that realization had her head shooting upwards. "No! I haven't even found that moss ball yet!" It wasn't even hers, so she had to find it and return it before she died. Slowly, she she noticed that she was now staring at Magnoliakit's face, which was definitely a lot closer than it should have been. Her heart dropped, looking into those eyes. There was no way she could escape this, was there?

"Forget the mossball," Magnoliakit growled, tiny sharp claws dug into the floor of the den as she peered at her sister, "small Peachkit, couldn't even save yourself." She raised her paw as though to strike but Lovekit pushed her way into the den and went to her nest. Magnoliakit dropped her paw and growled in frustration. It was so hard to have any privacy around here. But instead of backing off, Magnoliakit decided they'd simply go somewhere else, "Okay, Peachkit, let's go for a walk." She circled her sister threateningly.
No. She definitely did not want to go for a walk with Magnoliakit. Peachkit opened her mouth to say so, but found that no words would come out in her frightened state. If she could only scream, then perhaps Lovekit would notice that something was wrong. But all the small she-kit could do was tremble in her nest. Making herself smaller wasn't helping, but it was the only thing that her mind told her to do. If she could just vanish, everything would be okay. With her eyes still locked onto her sister, the creeping realization that she wouldn't be able to stop whatever it was that Magnoliakit planned grew closer. She would do whatever her sister said, because she was too afraid not to. The mossball didn't even matter anymore, not when all she could picture was her own death.

Magnoliakit knew small, weak Peachkit would come with her. Because she frightened her sister. Good. This was good practice for when she was bigger, better able to use her claws and teeth. She would one day be absolutely terrifying. Magnoliakit would strike fear into the heart of better cats than Peachkit. "We'll go for a walk, somewhere quiet. Just to play, Peachkit." Her voice was sugary-sweet, but her eyes were chips of ice. "Now get up, let's go. Every second here makes me so angry!" The she-cat tore at the moss of Peachkit's nest to illustrate her frustration.
Peachkit couldn't help but flinch at her sister's tone, her small body trembling with the thought of making Magnoliakit even angrier. It wouldn't end good for her. Her sister would get her way one way or another, and delaying it would just make it worse for poor little Peachkit. Gathering what little courage she had, she pulled herself up onto weak legs, letting out a small whimper. Whatever was about to happen, she knew it wasn't going to be good. This was definitely not just a walk. She was going to die, in some secluded place. No one will ever find her body, and they'll just forget all about the small, timid kit.
