Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Beedust did not want to be quarantined in the nursery, and she had resisted the first time Fawnheart and Thistlestar had suggested it. That had earned her another week of freedom to go on her hunting patrols, but when her stomach finally got so big that she started waddling, the two had put their paws down. Beedust was a small she-cat, and Fawnheart estimated that she could expect a medium to large litter with size of her belly.
So, reluctantly, the ginger warrior took the title 'Queen', moving from Thistlestar's nice, private den to the comfortable but shared nursery. Admittedly the soon-to-be mother had little experience with kits, and sharing a sleeping space with a bunch of them that she didn't know made her anxious. She had finished setting up her moss bed in her new spot, when Thistlestar- who had been helping her- had to run to fulfill another leaderly duty. It was then, alone in the nursery, that she realized she had never befriended any of the queens, and that these cats were all strangers.
Mossbreeze waddled slowly into the nursery, her pale green eyes revealing her tired status. The queen was quite large and rather close to giving birth and everything in her was ready. Sleep and comfort were beginning to become a rare commodity for the young queen. Even with the aid of the medicine cats and their herbs, Mossbreeze still found it difficult to truly get a good and comfortable night's sleep. Having come back to from medicine cat den from yet another check in, Mossbreeze could feel the pyhsical exhaustion kick in. She was ready to lay down and relax. Luckily, with the help of the other queens like Crimsoncrown, she could find the time away from the other kits to rest by herself.
Upon entered the Nursery, Mossbreeze spotted the sight of a ginger she-cat. "Beedust." Mossbreeze spoke up gently, a warm smile bracing her tired expression. It came as a shock to the clan when Thistlestar and Beedust announced their relationship and their impending family, especially to Mossbreeze's whose attention was taken by current kits in the nursery, so much so she had missed any whispers or gossip that could have been floating around on the camp. The queen anticipated to see Beedust in the nursery, but not as soon as today. "Welcome to the nursery!" She meowed cheerfully, her pale green eyes bright and warm.
Beedust turned to see the newcomer, Mossbreeze, whom she knew by name but not personally. A small smile spread over her features, and she girded herself for an honest effort at making 'mom friends'. "Hi, Mossbreeze. Thanks- I'm all settled. Do you have any suggestions for entertainment?" Her usual activities of bird hunting and racing were out of the question, since she didn't want to put herself or her kits in harms way.
Absently, she poked the moss of her nest into a deeper shape, hoping she would quickly adjust to sleeping alone again- at least until the babies came.
The queen couldn't help but laugh at Beedust's question, though it was all in good fun, devoid of any ill-will. "These bunch of kits will keep you plenty busy for you to be in want of entertainment." She admitted lovingly, glancing out the den as a playful screech coincidentally interrupted the queens' conversation. "Most of the kits are at the age where their energy has no bounds." Mossbreeze waddled slowly to her moss bed, sighing with deep relief as she melted into the comfortable bed "And in the times you aren't 'entertained' by the kits, you take the oppertunity and nap." She suggested firmly "Starclan knows you are going to need every minute of sleep when you live with a bunch of kits."
