Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The moon was already high in the sky by the time that Maplepaw had emerged from her nest in the students den. Her golden eyes scanned the camp as she debated what to do. What did students normally do? wait for their mentor to take them out training, but what was she meant to do? She didn't have the answer. She shrugged to herself and made her way over to the fresh-kill pile. She halfheartedly searched through the pile, deciding that she wasn't hungry after all when nothing looked good enough to eat.
She cast her gaze upward towards the entrance, sure it was cold tonight but.. if Nightstar didn't have anything for her to do.. what was stopping her from going out on her own?
"You look like you're planning something, Maplepaw." The voice came from behind the she-cat, kind enough but blunt all the same. "So what is it?" The owner stepped up beside her revealing the dark curly cream pelt and muddy grey eyes that belonged to the medicine cat apprentice, Lambpaw.
The golden she-cat jumped. Nearly startled out of her own fur by the sudden sound of Lambpaw's voice. She hadn't expected anyone to be watching her. Though she supposed that if anyone was it would be him. Sure she was use to Tealeaves watching her so if he wasn't then it made sense that his apprentice would be.
"Plotting? Me? Wouldn't dream of it Lambpaw, you must be mistaken. I was just thinking about taking it upon myself to go out and hunt for something better than this cold pile of prey."
Lambpaw stood looking at the freshkill pile, nodding slowly before he spoke again. "That's nice of you to leave the old, cold food for the kits and elder while you eat fresh warm prey, i'm sure they will be thankful." He smiled and looked at the she-cat, his words had been bluntly honest and he figured she knew it. "Well if you're going to hunt I'll come so we can carry some back." The tom knew that hadn't been her plan, but he had already decided what he was going to do.
"That's not what I meant!" She hissed, her pelt hot with embarrassment, her fur began to stand on end, but she forced it to lay flat. "Do you even know how to hunt? Collecting herbs doesn't count you know." She was careful to keep her tone playful.
Lambpaw chuckled at her reaction and tilted his head slightly at her question. "Oh no, I never said I was going to hunt, you can do that and I'll help carry, it's called teamwork." There was a purr rumbling in his chest, and his eyes danced with laughter. He couldn't help her hunt, he knew the basics but not enough to be helpful, he was okay with that though.
She narrowed her eyes at him for a moment before, sighing and shaking her head in an attempt to get ahold of herself. "Alright you can come along but, you have to keep up, and don't scare off all the prey!" She bounded ahead of him towards the exit. Only stopping to glance back at him over her shoulder, excitement and mischief shining in her eyes.
Lambpaw smiled and pushed himself forward after the she-cat, his legs were shorter than the others his age so it took him more effort to keep up. "As loud as you're being, i'm not gonna be the one to scare anything." He purred as he reached her side.
"I'm not being loud" she insisted, lowering her tone to a more reasonable volume. illusionists, always thinking they know everything she huffed at the thought but, settled down, somewhat as they made their way into the forest. The night was cold and dark, two cats their size would need to be careful unless they wanted to be snatched up by an owl.
"Has Tealeaves taught you to watch out for owls yet?"
