Fallenecho had just returned from camp from her daily duties, a soft sigh sounding from her being. The small feline had blood from both Summerclan and another, though she wasn't sure of where so burrs often caught in her long fur. Not to mention, she shed horribly during Greenleaf. Now that Leaf-fall was making its way to the clans, her fur was starting to grow back thicker.
She didn't have too many friends, though she supposed that was her own fault. She was shy and didn't speak to many others. Settling down in the clearing, she starts the process of picking the gnarly burrs from her fur, putting them in a neat pile to take out and bury later. Fallenecho couldn't help but feel a pang of loneliness, watching the other cats sharing tongues.
ith a loud and resounding THUD, the heavy pigeon hit the dirt floor next to the pile of fresh kill. A pair a sharp and vibrant greenish eyes rolled heavily with annoyance as she-cat immediately licked her chops of the remainder of the pigeon's blood. Hickorysplendor knew in every inch of her body that a trail of blood had run down from her muzzle to her chest, straining her illustrious smoky fur. The perfectionist mind had already began to plan a battle strategy as she made her way through the camp, eyeing a particularly cozy spot in camp. With each step she could feel her insecurity grow. Her fluffy tail was sure to have some twigs stuck in it, not to mention all the dust that accumulated in her fur. How the she-cat despised hunting. Her beautiful pelt always suffered for it, but unfortunately, with Waterclan survivors making their way into Summerclan, more hunting trips were necessary to feed more mouths.
As Hickorysplendor neared her target, she caught sight of the calico with long coat of multiple colors and shades. It would have been an admirable sight had not the harsh contrast of tangled burrs ruin the mosaic art on the she-cat's body.
"What in starclan's name happened to your beautiful coat!?" Hickorysplendor gasped, her words hinged with traces of pain as her vivid green eyes widen in horror taking in the she-cat the closer she got.

The thud startled Fallenecho, catching her off guard as she tugged away at one of the pesky burrs. The sudden startle caused her to pull up a good chunk of fur along with the little seed, so the darned thing was covered with gray fur. Her attention is drawn to the beautiful she-cat who made her way into camp to drop the pigeon, blood from the kill catching Fallen’s eye. The bird would be big enough to share between two apprentices, and would be perfect for a queen with kits. A smile draws across the dilute’s lips with pride. She adored her clan and the way they worked together to keep all happy and healthy.
At the other she-cats shocked voice, Fallen’s fur grows hot in embarrassment. Due to her mixed blood, her thick coat proved to be a nuisance in Summerclan. The garden keeper gives her chest a few quick licks before sighing and opening her mouth to speak. “I was up-keeping some of the herbs near the fields, and the burrs seem to be out of control this season. My fur doesn’t like them much.” Her voice was soft, she rarely spoke unless spoken too. “Not nearly as noble as the blood from your catch. Which is a beautiful catch, by the way. One to definitely be proud of.” She gives a careful smile, paws shuffling a bit nervously.
ickorysplendor scoffed at the insane notion. "Oh yes, I almost forgot, the iron smell and coat of dried blood on the pelt is the new style!" Hickorysplendor pulled back, spitting aside the burr before giving the she-cat a playful wink "That will be a sure thing to get all the toms attracted to me, like a predator to it's prey." The storm colored she-cat began to make her way to another burr, this one a bit more stubborn than the last "Please, it's only courteous to help another she-cat in need. Besides, I think its a true crime to let another cat walk around looking like roadkill and not extend a tongue- no offense." She added swiftly and sweetly before untangling another burr and immediately scouting out the next target. "Oh dear, no tom ever catches my eyes." She stated with smooth confidence " I catch theirs."

Fallenecho had decided against the warrior lifestyle due to her small stature. She was rather weak, though she was quick on her feet. Her hunting game wasn't nearly as strong as even some of the apprentice's in the clan. This fact brought her sorrow at times, but she was thankful to live in a clan that gave her the ability to still serve in a way that didn't require strong hunting or fighting skills. She knew if it came down to it, she would fight with all she had to protect her clan, but she much preferred her role as a garden keeper. "It is a splendid catch. It'll serve a queen well." A smile crosses her lips once again, and Fallenecho's attention is once again brought to the blood stains on Hickorysplendor's chest. "They're not horrible, if anything they'll be admired because it proves that you worked hard to feed the clan."
Fallenecho laughs softly at the she-cat's concern for her appearance. It was true that many toms were out right now. The she-cat didn't particularly care to catch the attention of any-- but the help to groom her unmanageable coat was greatly appreciated. "Thank you for your help." She purrs, tail lazily flicking back and forth in content. "Have any of those handsome toms caught your eye?" Fallenecho asks curiously, trying to strike up a conversation that Hickorysplendor might find interesting.

She scrunches up were nose at the predator/ prey comment, laughing and shaking her head once more. "I don't know if I'd want a tom looking at me like I'm some juicy piece of prey he just can't wait to sink his teeth into-- yuck!" the thought of that has her laughing though, what an interesting way to put that into perspective.
Fallenecho bites her tongue slightly at the tug of the stubborn burr. She knew that this was necessary, if they didn't come out, she'd look like a matted rug in no time. "I'm very glad I won't look like roadkill after this." She smiles, knowing she'd be more than happy to help groom Hickorysplendor in return for what she did to help Fallenecho.
"Oh, there's not even one that you'd like to look at a bit longer than the others?" Fallenecho grins. "Oh, I'm sure of that."
OOC: No worries! Getting used to this site has been a bit rough. Also! I'm so sorry for the delayed response, I've been sick

espite how daunting the task was to remove burrs from long fur, Hickorysplendor found great relief and tranquility in doing so. It was a theraputic task for the she-cat, so much so she found herself so focused on her fellow clanmate's pelt, she had completely disregarded her own stained pelt. The great conversation helped as well.
Hickorysplendor's muffled chuckle vibrated through Fallenecho's pelt. It was a nice change of pace for Hickorysplendor. It had been such a long time since the she-cat had a good, genuine laugh that was not produced with the intent to impress or attract. Though the she-cat was one of the biggest social butterflies in Summerclan. she had little to no friends she could confide in. Oddly enough, with just a simple grow and a playful banter, Hickorysplendor felt immensely at ease around Fallenecho. It was a nice change.
Hickorysplendor paused in her grooming endeavor's thinking hard for a few moments before shaking her head with indifference " I mean there are some fine cats you can definitely enjoy the sight of, but I have high standards. It would take a lot more that well, built tom to take more of my attention." She huffed, focusing harder on the task ahead of as a particular tom cat came to mind, but she couldn't bring herself to speak his name...
"Aaand voila!" Hickorysplendor chimed, her voice sing-song as she pridefully took in her work, her vivid green eyes taking in every inch of the calico before nodding her silent approval of her work.
