Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
on this patrol, they accidentally stumble across the communal nesting ground of a flock of birds in a tree and get a little bit too close. cue "the birds" music. furious at the patrol for daring to look at their chicks, they chase the cats through the wildflower meadow - where, surprise, there isn't any cover! they better find some quick, though, unless they want their eyes pecked out and fed to squealing baby birds (which, no judgement if that's their thing).
good luck ♥
Doestar, still acting without a deputy because he was a mess of a cat and the choice was a little too permanent and important for his liking (and, thus, his coping method was to just ignore it until the problem eventually went away), had been forced to organise the patrols. He thought he'd done a pretty brilliant job of it, if he did say so himself - he'd snagged two apprentices, which meant there were two fewer warriors, which meant the judgement of his inevitable failure was going to be that much less scathing! It was a win-win: they got to explore more of the territory, and he got to hide from the warriors that kinda freaked him out! He wasn't a coward; he was just intelligent.
"Alright, you lollygagging, lovely layabouts - we're goin' on patrol!" With that, he stomped confidently out of the camp and, once out of sight, immediately slumped back against a nearby birch tree with a panicked exhalation, hiding his eyes behind his paw to try and stop himself having a terrified meltdown. "I'm okay, it's okay, it's fine," he breathed to himself, fanning his face with his good paw. When the first cat followed him out, he shot up and grinned like nothing was wrong. "I just love patrols so much," he choked out, then let out a quick, nervous giggle.
"Sure looks like it," Restlessbird agreed, her voice chipper. This was the first time that she had been out of camp since she had gotten her tail handed to her by the rogues. She was a little bit embarrassed that she had been called to do a patrol with the very tom who had come to her rescue, but that was a problem that she'd have to learn to deal with. She had a feeling that Lemonspeckle was probably not going to go away any time soon, which meant that she'd just have to get used to it, right?
She smiled slightly to herself, before giving herself a good shake. Her very presence on this patrol was probably bad luck- she attracted trouble like a magnet- but hey, the other's probably didn't know that, nor did they need to.
Doestar let out of a nervous half-laugh, running a paw over the top of his head to smooth his fur. “Sure do, lucy-loo,” he agreed weakly, and immediately internally cringed at his lame attempt at humour. Where we off to, boss? He let out another flustered giggle at the word boss and waved a paw at her as if to say she didn’t have to call him that. “Uh, well, good question! East,” he blurted out unthinkingly, and took a second to mouth the directions to himself and work out which way that was. “We’ll go East. To the Eastern border. Catch a few rogues, turn ‘em into pie, y’know, the usual.”
He blew a raspberry and peered over the warrior’s shoulder at the camp entrance, skin crawling with the growing fear that the others weren’t going to come after all. Ah, well. He supposed there were worse cats to be stuck with than Restlessbird. He smiled at her, hoping she couldn’t see the thoughts on his face, and let out a weak hum of laughter that sounded more like a high, muffled scream.
“Oh me too! Y’know, the dawn patrol really wakes me up. I feel like I may be the only one to actually like it.” Beetuft purred, making her way up to Doestar and Restlessbird. The large she-cat skipped her way beside Doestar, dancing on her toes a bit. She was excited to be on patrol with the leader—she was quite fond of him. “Well then, those rogues better watch out!” She chuckled, swishing her tail cheerfully.

"Wait up! I'm coming, I'm coming!" Birchpaw tumbled after the warriors, dragging a few bits and pieces of tendrils and feathers with him. The apprentice was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, as per usual. His eagerness bubbled out in a serious of embarrassed giggles as he looked back at the mess in his coat. "I might have gotten caught in the entrance to camp." He explained sheepishly. Of course he hadn't been paying attention to where he was placing his paws. The world was just too exciting and wild to notice such things. He glanced up at Doestar then dipped his head. "Sorry, Doestar. I'll try and be more careful from now on."
