Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Skykit no!" Soaringbird cried fearfully darting over to the little gray tabby, immediately snatching up the blind kitten and pulling her away from the sticker bush she'd been half a tail length from going into.
Skykit huffed scrunching her nose up as her mother set her down further away from the weird smelling plant thing. How was she supposed to figure anything out in the world she could only perceive through scent, taste, touch, and sound if her mother kept snatching her up when she looked to be on the verge of tripping over something? Sure she was clumsy and bumped into things and cats on occasion but her mother's constant need to scoop her up and lick her felt... smothering. Skykit wanted to learn more about the world around her! Heck her aunt, Burningstar told her stories about the places she'd seen. Her mother recounting what her old home in BrookClan had been like and what the forests of NightClan were like.
Skykit wanted to explore too! She huffed as Soaringbird finished grooming her, the older she cat moving to focus on one of her siblings. Skykit's little ears flattened and she lowered her head sighing.
Fawnkit watched the interaction from a short distance away, curiosity evident in her eyes; she wasn't close with a lot of the other kits in the nursery and Skykit was no exception, but she hated to see Skykit's own curiosity get shut down by her own mother. Fawnkit was sure that her own mother would let her explore around as much as she wanted to.
"Skykit! Wanna play a game?" she called out, padding up a little closer to her and glancing cautiously at Soaringbird. "I'm on your left," she added quickly; she had no idea how skilled the kit was at
( ninja edit: i said fawnkit doesn't have a mother except oops she does lmao )
Skykit's head had immediately turned towards Fawnkit at the sound of her voice and pawsteps drawing near her. Her ears pricked and her expression brightened. She turned to Soaringbird, orienting on her mother by the presence of the she cat's tail on her back. "Can I mother?" She pleaded.
Soaringbird let out a heavy sigh, looking reluctant and concerned but she nodded. "All right, but you too be careful and don't go too far, Skykit's a lot smaller than you Fawnkit, you could hurt her if you get too rough." The silver and gray tabby gently tapped her daughter once before she shifted back to sit near the nursery curling her tail around her other napping kits.
Skykit had to sniff the air to reorient on Fawnkit, "So! What did you want to play?" She asked excitedly tail waving
"Don't worry, she's in safe paws!" Fawnkit called out to Soaringbird, before turning back to Snowkit. "...You know, I hadn't thought about that. I didn't think we'd get this far, you know?" She sighed, glancing around the camp uncertainly. "Well, how much do you get outside the nursery? You seemed kinda curious about the bush earlier..."
"Oh yes! I though I heard something scuttling in there, it didn't sound like the ant that my brother Infernalkit stuck in our nest to scare mother the other day. So I wanted to try and figure out what it was..." Her head was angled towards the bush but she let out a sigh. "But I doubt it's still there. But is there anything you want to go look at?" Skykit asked turning back to Fawnkit. "I would love to tag along, most of my siblings are napping right now." She muttered sticking out her tongue annoyed with them
