His compliment warmed her, making her purr and lightened her mood a bit. "I'm glad your my mate too" she yelled over the driving rain. When they reached the thicket she touched her nose to his before slipping into it. The thicket was mostly dry, except for a few stray drops but at least they were out of the pouring rain. She settled down and began licking her fur dry.

Cutthroat followed closely behind her. He let the small branches comb out some of the rain water from his fur as he crawled in next to Celestialglow. "Well, this seems like a dry enough place." A crack of thunder boomed overhead and the rain poured harder. A chill ran through him but it was more from a foreboding feeling he had rather than the coolness of the rain. "I don't like this," he said as more thunder rumbled. "I've got a bad feeling about all of this. I don't remember it ever raining this hard before."
Celestialglow frowned, "that's true. This is unusual. You dont suppose Starclan is angry with Earthclan, do you?" She flattened her ears and for the first time, she actually looked frightened.

An involuntary shutter ran down Cutthroat's spine. That thought had never occurred to him before. Was StarClan angry with them? "I ... don't know," he meowed, unable to conceal the note of concern in his voice. "Our leader just brought our clan back to StarClan so I wouldn't think they'd be angry, right?" Another boom sounded overhead as the rain continued to pour down.
She gulped, "I dont see why they would be but it's possible, right?" She looked at her mate nervously and jumped as another loud boom rumbled the earth.

"Anything's possible, I suppose," Cutthroat meowed through the thunder which seemed continuous now. He moved closer to Celestialglow out of the need for both warmth and mental comfort. Pressing his side against hers, he continued, "We might be here for awhile by the sound of things so we might as well get some rest. I bet when this storm goes away and the sun comes out again, things will look much better." He turned his head to wash behind her ears.
She nodded and relaxed, "your right." She pressed against him, grateful for his warmth and company. She wrapped her tail around his and soon her breath slowed, indicating that she was asleep. All of this had made her very exhausted.

It wasn't long before Cutthroat feel asleep too. He figured enough time had past since his head injury that it was safe for him to get some rest. Besides that's all he wanted to do. Perhaps sleeping would ease the pain in his head. Tomorrow after they get back to camp, he'd visit their medicine cat and get some herbs.
As the two cats slept in their temporary haven, the rain continued to pour down without showing any signs that it would be stopping anytime soon.

(Okay ^^)
It was a day and a half before it had stopped raining hard. The bushes they had sheltered in had kept the cats somewhat dry, at least Cutthroat's fur wasn't plastered to his body anymore and his head was feeling better. But his belly was telling him it wasn't too pleased from the loud growls coming from it. One thing for certain - they didn't go thirsty! "It's let up," he meowed. "I'm going to go take a look around, maybe find something to eat." He knew the chances of finding food was nil but hunger is a big motivator.
He pushed his way out of the sheltering bushes and was staggered at what met his eyes. "No......no......no.......no!" The stream that flowed near the camp was now halfway up the mountain. It was a muddy mess with uprooted trees and other debris floating around in it. Where the camp should have been was nothing but water.
Celestialglow followed him out when she heard him so upset. She crawled out next to him and laid her green eyes on what he was seeing. Her heart lurched and a lump formed in her throat. The whole forest was destroyed. Their home was gone. She scanned their surroundings and soon, her gaze rested on a lump of fur laying at the water's edge. She rushed over, limping at her sore shoulder. When she got closer, she realized it was a kitten. However, when she was beside it, she realized it was dead. "Tigerkit..." she whispered, her heart aching. A tear rolled down her cheek as she pressed her muzzle to the stiff kit. After a moment, she lifted her head and scanned the forest again, taking in all the destruction. "There has to be survivors..." she mewed, half to herself and half to Cutthroat, her voice shaky with grief. She was worried that there wouldnt be survivors. What if their whole clan was wiped out?

Cutthroat came over to investigate Tigerkit. He really didn't know the little one but he felt a sharp pang of grief. "So young...." he mewed. A sound rustled through some bushes behind where they stood. He spun around quickly to see a bedraggled Stonefang emerge. He held a look of shock in his eyes but when he saw the pair he brightened. "You made it!" he meowed. "I'm so glad! I didn't know if anyone but myself survived." Like them, he had been out of the camp when disaster had struck. "Have you seen Berryfrost or any of my family?" he asked hopefully. "I've been looking for them ever since the rain stopped."
Celestialglow breathed a sigh of relief seeing Stonefang alive. She shook her head, "we just got here. Tigerkit is the only body we have found so far. Maybe they escaped." She wanted to believe that was true but the odds were against them. The storm hit that night and the flood was sudden. There may be much more like Tigerkit that didnt get out in time.

The hope in Stonefang's eyes died away at the she cat's response. "They've got to be alive," he said with a forceful determination. He had to keep believing they were all alright. "Will you help me look?"
Cutthroat nodded. "Yes, and maybe we'll find others too." The pain in his friend's eyes was so intense. It made him feel almost guilty that he knew his mate was safely with him.
Celestialglow nodded, "of course we will help you look." She wanted to comfort Stonefang by saying that his family was alive and well but she couldnt be that certain and didnt want to give him false hope.

(I was thinking we might do another time jump. Perhaps the first one wasn't big enough. We can't find more cats unless others join our thread. Also I'm concerned we might lose this thread when they delete EarthClan. If you don't like the following post, I can change or delete it. So here goes)
It had been a week since the flood had began. Both Cutthroat and Stonefang were bone weary. The former could imagine his mate felt the same. They had spent their days looking for clanmates and trying to find a way into the camp. They had some luck doing the former but as for finding a way home they kept hitting a wall, a wall of water that is. The camp was still submerged and given up as lost. They had made their way to the broken bridge through soggy fields that once were prey rich but now were devastated. They were all amazed but very pleased to find the bridge was intact. The water in the gorge apparently hadn't risen over it here. After going across, they looked back over to the land they lost.
"I still can't believe we've lost our home," Cutthroat said with a hint of sorrow in his voice.
"I can't believe I lost my ... my ... mate," Stonefang replied with a sob. "And most of my family too." He had been growing more and more sullen as each day had past. How can he go on? Did he really even want to?
(You can mention if they met up with Toadstream or not or even if he's now with them.)

Celestialglow was covered in mud half way up her legs and tired to her bones. She felt bad for Stonefang, possibly losing his family. "Maybe some of them made it out. If the bridge is still in tact, perhaps they got to safety." The golden tabby mewed, hoping she was right.
(Maybe they can run into Toadstream on their way to Summerclan? And Toadstream found Deerflower and her kit Mudkit in Dayclan so Toadstream can tell him that!)

(That would be great! Is Toadstream in DayClan too?)
"Perhaps you're right," Stonefang meowed. He did seem to brighten just a little at the thought.
"I bet there's lots of our clanmates who made it out," Cutthroat said in a more encouraging tone than he truly felt. "So where do we go now?" He looked around as if expecting to see a sign from StarClan like a fallen tree or a flock of flying birds.
"We could head towards the MoonCreek," Stonefang suggested. "Maybe we'll come across some of our clanmates. It is in neutral territory after all."
(No, hes in Fallclan which makes it more sensible that they run into Toadstream )
"That's a good idea" Celestialglow agreed, brightening up. Perhaps some of their clanmates will be there. "It would make sense that they headed toward that. It's a neutral and sacred ground. Surely they would go there for guidance from their ancestors."

Cutthroat nodded his agreement and led the way to the west and south. He had been over to the Moon Creek only twice, once when he was an apprentice and then later in a patrol to drive away rogues from the area.
Foremost in Stonefang's mind was the hope he'd find his family members. Their had only been vague rumors as to what happened to them from the clanmates they did come across, nothing definite.
"My stomach thinks my throat had been clawed out," Cutthroat said to Celestialglow as he walked beside her. "Keep your eyes, nose and ears open for any sign of prey." He knew it was fair game to hunt prey in the unclaimed territories.
