EARTHCLAN The newly appointed Sestar lead the mass of cats she was bringing with her to the gathering. For some, it would be their first gathering as a warrior, others their first-ever. Amberpaw and his siblings were some of those newly appointed apprentices. The rest were old-timers at this, they knew the drill and what to expect from those around them. Hopefully, EarthClan would seem strong in the face of the other two clans. If not, she had no idea what would happen. Nerves had encased her the moment they'd left camp, and it was evident to all who knew her. Most, as well as herself, were hoping that others would think they were due to being new to the leadership position. If only they knew it was that and so much more.
Amberpaw stuck as close to Seastar as he could, practically walking on her paws. She'd insisted that the newly appointed apprentices all come, that it was an experience they'd never forget; their first gathering. He didn't want to be here. If it wasn't for the fact that when he'd told his older sister that and she'd nearly burst into tears, the tom would have stayed home.
Chimerstar had always hated gatherings, and now he had to lead one. For the rest of his life he'd be stuck here everyone moon, surrounded by cats glaring up at him and muttering and protesting, and he hadn't even started and he was already tired of it all. The ginger tom took a deep breath, then led his clan down into the gathering. His sharp half-gaze raked the Earthclan cats that had arrived just before them, and he drew himself up a little taller, then stalked to the side to allow his clan to disperse. At least there was one thing to console him: he wasn't the only new leader here. None of them had been leaders at a gathering before.
EARTHCLAN
Crownglass trotted back from Seastar, letting her family and more important clan members keep close, but his gaze was all for her. His old clan wasn't here, so he didn't really know anybody, but that was okay.
Celestialglow followed her clan to the gathering. She wasn't particularly fond of gatherings but she supposed she would go this moon. She watched the Waterclan cats as they piled into the clearing, smelling up the gathering place with their smelly fish scent. She nearly gagged as the strong stench hit her nose.
Toadstream, on the other paw, strode in confidently, his light green eyes scanning the Waterclan cats. He noticed that Chimerstar was leader now. However, the Waterclan leader didn't look very pleased to be here.
Brackenhawk walked alongside Toadstream. He had always saw Stonefang's kits as his nieces and nephews even though they weren't related by blood. He looked out for them and protected them since him and their father were close friends.
Waterclan
Silvermist practically skipped into the clearing as if this were her first time at a gathering. She was always a bit odd and cheery. The silver tabby she-cat's blue eyes landed on Amberpaw and she noticed how nervous the Earthclan apprentice seemed to be. She wondered if there was anything she could do to make him feel more comfortable. She bounded over to him, her tail raised in the air. She slipped in beside him, "Greetings!" Her voice was friendly and sweet and her eyes sparkled with excitement. "Is this your first gathering?" She assumed it was by how nervous he looked but she figured she would ask just to be sure.

EarthClan
Cedarberry followed his leader into the gathering and settled down nearby beside Celestialglow, "I worry, if you make it clear you are disgusted by their scent you may offend someone," he muttered quietly to her, noticing her reaction as WaterClan cats began to settle nearby.
WaterClan Nightwing smiled as a group of young apprentices came to greet him. Even outside the clan, his kindness towards the young never stopped with just his own Clanmates. He was always happy to talk to young cats about their problems, and rumor started early on when he became a warrior that he would even guide the apprentices of other clans without fear of him sharing their problems with others. "Now now relax, the gathering should start soon. We can talk after alright?" he spoke kindly to them.
Celestialglow huffed, "It's not my fault they stink up the whole place." The golden tabby responded to Cedarberry, her tail flicking in annoyance. This was why she didn't go to gatherings. Too many cats, too many weird smells for her liking. It was out of her comfort zone. She would much rather be in her own territory right now, devouring a juicy mouse with her clanmates. Instead, she had chosen to go with her clan tonight since she hadn't gone for the past couple of moons.

EARTHCLAN
Mistywaters felt his nose twitch as the strong scent of WaterClan hit his face. It was proving to be tough not to show his displeasure. Now with the smell disrupting his direction, he had to do his best to follow the blurry objects of his clanmates in order not to stray from the group. The tom found a spot further back, just behind his denmates.

EarthClan
Cedarberry sighed, shaking his head before batting at Celestialglow's head with a sheathed paw, "Come on, stop being such a downer. You rarely get picked to go to a gathering anyway so why are you so upset about it? It will be over before you know it. Then you can go back to hunting or protecting the border to your hearts content."

She gave Cedarberry a sideways grin and slightly chuckled. He was right. She was rarely picked, probably because of her bad attitude toward other clans. She hoped it would be over soon. The longer she stayed here, the more frustrated and overwhelmed she got. She was grateful for Cedarberry being there, keeping her occupied. "I suppose your right. I just hope the leaders start soon so that I can get back to camp."
WaterClan Undertow settled into a seated position with a clear view of everyone there. He was curious to see what kind of show this would be, his tail flicking out behind him.
Marinaheart stalked around eyeing the different clan cats here. She frowned at them all, even though she'd been told Gatherings were a time for peace her wariness was strong.

WaterClan Splashpaw followed her clan into the large space and her eyes grew round at the vast number of cats before her, she had never been to a gathering before this and her excitement was bubbling fiercely. The different scents of the other clans were strange to her but that didn't stop her from trotting past her brother and into the heap of cats in search of some other apprentices to speak to.
Shallowleap had never been a fan of gathering, he did good to put up with his own clanmates and now he was stuck surrounded by his enemies, cats who he had no trust towards. He tried to stop Splashpaw as she moved past him but in an instant she was swallowed up by the mingling clans, how they could so easily talk to one another was beyond him all he knew was he didn't like it. Moving to the back well away from all the chattering he sat down and waited, ready for this to be over so he could go home.
Coalsplash hopped down into the clearing, following his clan. The fluffy white tom looked around, his frosty blue eyes bright and excited for what was going to unfold tonight. He purred when he saw Mistywaters at the back, and the tom padded over toward his clanmate. "Do you think tonight will go smoothly? I hope the other leaders are welcoming toward Seastar."
Graypaw could hardly contain his excitement. He ran into the gathering, one ear dipped forward, eyes searching for apprentices from the other clans. He saw Splashpaw and he glanced behind him for his brother, "Amberpaw! Come on!" He bound over to Splashpaw, his gray tail waving behind him as he grinned at the she-cat. "Hello," he said, his voice husky, "I'm Graypaw!"

WaterClan
Splashpaw stopped in her search as a young tom appeared in front of her, his scent was of the earth and she smiled as she realized he must have been an EarthClan apprentice. Her eyes lit up and her paws bounced on the ground, she had never met an apprentice from one of the other clans. "Hello Graypaw! I'm Splashpaw!" She looked over the tom and noted that he was bigger than her though he seemed younger, she had been an apprentice for a while now but her small size often confused others of her age.

"Are you from WaterClan?" He asked, catching her scent. He still got the two other clans confused - the water smell on their pelts was hard to distinguish with the others at first. "I'm from EarthClan. This is my first gathering. Have you ever been?" His excitement showed as his words poured out of him. "Some of the warriors have talked about sometimes things can get crazy, like fighting. I kind of hope not, though."

WaterClan
Splashpaw nodded to Graypaw her smile never fading. "Yep, I'm from WaterClan!" She was proud of her birth clan but she remained ever curious of the other two, did they work the same as hers or were they completely different. "This is my first gathering, I got hurt when I was made an apprentice and wasn't able to come. I had to spend a quarter moon stuck in camp!" She felt a shiver run down her spine at the memory of being confined to camp until her leg had healed, she never wanted that to happen again. "I hope it doesn't get crazy either, though I'm sure some cats would love to see someone get worked up." She let her gaze slip through the throng of cats around them and then back to the gray tom.

EARTHCLAN
Mistywaters' tail curled over his paws as his claws dug into dirt. Honestly, he was a little uneasy. He didn't come to gatherings often, and for good reason. He watched as the figure of his clanmate padded up to him. It comforted him slightly to know he would have some familiar company. "I'm sure they will welcome her as a new leader," he assured Coalsplash. "If not, they will have to take it up with StarClan about their decision, won't they?"
Undertow's ear twitched towards Mistywater's and Coalsplash. The strong black tom cocked his head, the ragged scar around his neck more prominent with the shift. "I didn't realize the other clans had a say in the leadership of another." He said. "Has Seastar done something worthy of them being deposed?" He inquired, a seemingly innocent question though his eyes gleamed.
Riverwolf had been deposed with help from a group Undertow now knew was called the Regime, as well as the help from several SummerClan and NightClan cats who were tied by blood. But was it in actuality a common occurence? How peculiar.
As Creekghost followed his clan into the clearing, his emerald gaze swept over the crowd of Waterclan cats, hoping to spot some familiar faces. It came as a brief surprise to see Chimerahunt of all cats leading his former clan now, but after a moment the white tom flashed fond smile up at his old clanmate; it certainly made sense, considering who the leader's parents were. As he took a seat under the clear night sky, he realized just how few of the felines around him he actually recognized. Had it really been so long since he left for his mate Breezestep?
Waterclan
The newly-named Slippaw's eyes were wide as moons when she padded after her friends and family; she had never seen so many cats together in one place before! The fluffy grey apprentice suddenly felt the need to nervously duck behind Yuccablossom or her cousin Oceanscent, who were eagerly padding ahead of her into the gathering. Glancing up at the older cats, she couldn't help but notice how...nonchalant they were being. Was she supposed to just start talking to everyone? She wasn't sure where to start.
Coalsplash nodded in reply to Mistywaters before turning his gaze to the WaterClan warrior as he joined them. He couldn't miss the gleam in Undertow's eyes. "I wasn't saying they had a say," the tip of his feathered tail flicked, "I just hope they are welcoming. It's not every day that a leader up and goes missing. That seems enough to make cats on edge."
Graypaw's tail flicked behind him excitedly, "I'm glad you're here now, anyway," he said to Splashpaw. "I'm sure spending all that time in the medicine cat den was rather boring. My brother Amberpaw would probably love it. Can you believe he didn't want to become an apprentice?" Graypaw was still aghast at his brother's revelation.

"He didn't want to be an apprentice? Why not?" She looked at Graypaw with wide eyes, most kits couldn't wait for the day they were given a mentor it meant they were one step closer to being warriors. She didn't understand why any cat would want to stay a kit forever, never being allowed to do anything fun and having to stay in camp all day and night.

EARTHCLAN
"That's right," he agreed and nodded to the two. "Even considering the circumstances…" he peered towards where he knew his leader would be, even though he had no luck in seeing more than colors shuffling ahead of him. He wondered if the other clans would be hostile or friendly to her directly. They just had to wait and see.
