Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Okay so! I would love to do a PMV (Picture Music Video) to help advertise Classic and as a fun team project for anyone who would like to get involved. This means that the video will not be animated and instead show things off in a comic story telling format. Where each scene shows a next part of a story.

What do you think of the idea?
If you like the idea, should the PMV be snippets of rps we’ve had on Classic or should it be a singular plot that happened on Classic and we can vote what that plot is?
I love the idea, a pmv would be a great way to help advertise the site.
As for what should be in the pmv, well a few ideas come to mind while certainly having a singular plot would be good. The idea for an advertisement that pops into my head is almost like how a rpg game trailer hints at the player character moving about. We get a cool song in the background and maybe follow some cats through each of the various groups. As potential newcomers could join the various groups and thus seeing a represenative of themselves going through (kind of similar to the clan guide books where the reader met with various clan cats who toured you through the territory and taught you a bit about clans as you were 'curious strangers' )
Like for instance an opening shot could be of a cat stepping up to a mountain top (it could be a character or just a silhouette) and they survey the land where all the territories are. Then they visit the various clans. Allowing for shots of different territories and different cats. There can be epic scenes show cased during each clans alloted time, allowing not just current cats to appear but memorable past ones to appear in maybe flashback scenes that can be hinted at by other cats telling stories. Or even appearing at the end if we'd rather focus on more brief introductions to each clan. Though admittedly that would be a hefty project and require a great deal of background work probably or at least require at the minimum 14 different background set pieces for each clan. Though if we weren't able to pull that off some could be reused/altered with a little work. I dunno not an artist XP. But if we were able to have the artist power and desire (or we commissioned it if we really wanted to XD) we could certainly make it.
Would we be planning for it to be a multiple animator like project or just one team putting it together for a finished cohesive project?
We could also do if we'd rather keep the PMV more on epic scenes which is also exciting I believe racer had an idea about videos introducing the various territories/clans. Like the books did it with narration done by one of the characters in that clan. If we'd rather keep the PMV more epic, an introductory video treated like 'so and so speaks' form the book, but in the video where they use pictures and maybe the image of the narrating cat to give potential newcomers a better overview of the groups.
this sounds amazing!! i think it could be cool to do snippets of rps — romance, battle, apprentices having their ceremonies and then training with their mentors, a villain looking out over their territory (maybe the city) with a smile, some cats exploring a haunted crypt, a cat finding a bloody corpse at the border, kits playing, a gathering, a patrol, sharing tongues, going on a quest through a blizzard, just having fun, stuff like that! i think that would be better than trying to explain a plot that would mean nothing to people unfamiliar with the site — it would be difficult to keep up with who’s who and what’s happening to characters they don’t know, whereas a more generalised thing would appeal to anyone who has a basic understanding of warriors!
people could also volunteer to have their characters featured in it, or we could just use cats specifically made for the pmv.
i’ve written some scripts for PMVs and MAPs that i hope to do someday, so i’d be more than happy to help with that if you need! c: but this sounds so exciting!! (ALSO THAT TALLSTAR/JAKE PMV IS MY FAVOURITE AND I CRY) <33
I love this idea! I agree it should be like a compilation of RP snippets to show how diverse the site is. because, It's not just clans and LKR. So it might help to show how each clan/ group is different from each other.

I agree it should either be snippets of rp, or from the perspective of one cat visiting all the clans. I don't really have a preference from one or the other, but like Cleaver said, it sort of depends on the song we get. Either way, I'd love to have each group mentioned in the PMV if possible. Maybe as a frame with the clan's name, a background symbol, and a cat (or cats) that symbolizes the clan. (Could be a current/past leader, or someone else important to the clan. For example, SunClan could have Foxstar & Littlebird/Dragonswrath, or the Sun God. Something like that, at least.) Either at the beginning or end, so that everyone knows what clans/groups there are to join. It'd also be a great way to just give a moment's highlight to the sort of place it is. Of course, that might be awkward to include with everything else, so we could just do a general overview with the rps, and if it turns out good, consider whether or not we want to do ones more for individual clans, or a second one specifically focusing on each clan/group for a few seconds. But that's more of a future thing to consider once this PMV is done.
As someone who's made a few PMVs, I think its either to either do little snippets from a perspective to give a feel to what the Clans are about and what they are like. Choosing to do a wide variety & cast of characters would be pretty hard, verses doing a few shots of Clans like MoonClan, BrookClan, etc. That way you could present the personality and such. The only problem with it possibly being a MAP is that its hard to find people who want to be apart of a MAP that doesn't showcase the canon characters. And you have to keep in mind that we have 11 Clans and 3 Groups, that's a lot of Clans, cats, and such to draw. It takes a lot of time and effort.

I'm a little under the weather so I don't want to offer my opinion just yet while I'm feeling off, but I am actively watching this so if anyone wants to comment more on the matter I'm happy to read it!
My idea was a little video series. I was going to do one video that was an introduction to the site in general. It was going to be like a hype video using the motto born as a kit, grow into an apprentice, and transform into a warrior. Something quick and catchy to get the attention of people when we are advertising. Then a quick video that would be a quick overview of the clans that would give a quick snippet of each clan to help give new users an idea about the diversity on the site. I thought it would be neat if it was a group of starclan cats trying to guide a loner about which clan might be a good fit for them, each trying to convince the cat that their clan/group was the best.
Then each clan could get their own little mini playlist that each clan leader could help you create. Each clan/group could have a guide to their territory, explanation of rank, religion, ceremonies/traditions, ext. It would give more details about each clan, and be completed by the view point of an important character in that clan.
Hey I know we've got some new members now so I thought I'd bump this up again! This'd be a really fun project to see happen and I'd like to see what some of our newer members think!
