Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Cardinalstar padded up to his son, Cardinalpaw. He looked down at the young tom, who looked so much like himself. He'd decided to take him on as an apprentice because he was looking forward to developing a better relationship with all of his kits and partly because he felt that as a leader he didn't get out of camp as much as he used to and quite frankly he missed patrolling and hunting and training apprentices. "Ready to begin your training?" he asked cheerfully.
Cardinalpaw felt... a little awkward. He'd been the quieter one of the litter, letting Dovepaw and Shiningpaw do more of the running about and exploring. And interacting with their father. He'd personally been uncomfortable around his parents feeling the tension between them.
Personally he wasn't thrilled his father chose to mentor him, he could already imagine his clanmates muttering over the favoritism his father was giving him. He felt a little queasy at the thought.
He tried not to show it though as he nodded slowly. "Yeah, I'm ready."
"Great! I figured we'd start with some hunting in the meadow. How does that sound?" he asked, heading for the camp entrance and signaling for Cardinalpaw to follow him with a wave of his tail. He was interested to see if his son shared his talent of catching rabbits and birds, something that came easily to Cardinalstar thanks to his long and leggy frame, plus hunting rabbits was always easier in pairs.
