Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Berryfrost has been looking forward to this night all week. She had no idea what they were going to be doing but she didn’t care. They had all night to themselves. No kits, no apprentices. Just them. It was nice, even before it truly had begun. At the moment she waited for her mate to join her. She wasn’t sure if he was out on a patrol or hunting but it was nearly time and he should be back soon. So she waited by the entrance to the warriors den for her love.

Stongfang was thrilled at the prospect of spending sometime with his mate. It had been a very long time since they were able to just kick back and relax with each other. It seemed like forever for the small border patrol he was on to finally make it back to the camp. He didn't want to be late for this special time. As he walked through the entrance, he spotted her waiting for him. His heart gave a little leap when he saw her. She makes me feel like a young apprentice again, he thought as he approached her. "Hi," he said in greeting. "Let me sit beside you for a few minutes before we head out. Were you waiting long?"
(We can finish this thread and during the date, she can tell him about the kits we were talking about. Any ideas for names? Then we can fast forward at another time closer to them being born or something if we wanted too just to keep role playing, maybe have them discussing names?)
"No, not long." She snuggled against him, content with whatever they chose to do. Berryfrost wasn't picky, only that they spent this time together, kit-free and alone. Berry fur had been smooth flat only moments before his arrival, now fluffed up as she pushed close to him and began purring. "How was your patrol? Not to tasking right?" They hadn't talked of plans for their night, more likely to go with the flow than anything dependent on how tired they were. She was a mentor now, and he had a patrol today, she expected them to both be a little tired.

(Sounds good to me. I'll think about some names and let you know. How many kits do you want?)
Stonefang enjoyed the physical closeness they were sharing at the moment. Just to feel Berryfrost up against his side and to smell her lovely scent seemed to relax away the day's activities. "Oh, you know, the same ol' same ol'," he replied. "No evidence of anything out of place - which is a good thing," he quickly added. He didn't want to sound like he wanted problems. But sometimes a strange smelling paw print or an odd scent near a border could bring a sense of excitement or intrigue to an otherwise boring patrol. "So how's training been going with your apprentice?" He liked to hear about the details of her life.
(Three? Four? Five? I'm not picky. Basically, I decide the size of the litter by how many names I can come up with that relate in some way. But however you wanna do it I'm fine with)
"No signs of our daughter I hope?" The child had been known to find trouble, her mentor had expressed the issue to Berryfrost only a few days ago. Deerpaw was a handful for everyone and she sought adventure where ever she went, not caring how it was found. Once already she'd been caught sneaking across the border. Luckily, she hadn't gotten far. "It's been fine, challenging on the both of us." It had taken Berryfrost some time to get back in shape, but it had worked out well too. Both of them had been able to work out together and to learn steps side by side. Time in the nursery had dulled her skills some but she wouldn't have changed that for anything.

(Okay! Still thinking. Um Leokit, Raphkit, Mikey... oh uh I guess not )
"She's not missing again?" Stonefang asked, his eyes darting around the camp. He had hoped she'd settle down once she started her training but it seemed she'd gotten only worse. "Mentoring is a challenge but one that's very worthwhile. I'm glad it's going okay for you." He looked back on the time he mentored awhile ago. It would be nice to mentor again someday.
(Wait you mean we can't do TMNT names? Darn. Lol what if they all look like him with one that looks like Berryfrost? The others mostly look like her except for Deerpaw. So maybe names like Sandberries [father's pelt, mother's eyes], Desertrose [has some reddish undertones but pelt and eyes like Stonefang's], ummmmmm? ?? those are the only two I can think of, maybe an orange one or a black one? Those would go with Berryfrost's coloring. Toadpaw is already a tortishell like her so were good there)
"Possibly, you know her. She'll be back at dusk to tell of her latest adventure." Just the other night it been about a meeting a patrol from another clan near the borders and quizzing them about their lives. They hadn't been happy that she was even asking but still. Berryfrost just smiled, their daughter had a good heart, sadly it longed for adventures that were sure to find her trouble. "Maybe you should talk to Solsticestar about becoming a mentor again? Our daughter might need a new one, I'm afraid she might run off the one she has." One thing was sure, Heatstroke had never been in better shape. Deerpaw was surely running him ragged with her stamina.

(Good idea! I like those names. Going on your suggestion - How about a black one with a dusting of gray on the back and called Nightfrost or Frostshadow and an orange tabby with a dusting of reddish fur around the face called Sunrise or Poppyblush.)
"I'd like to mentor again but very seldom a parent and a kit are paired up together as mentor and apprentice. Besides I feel if put in that situation I'd be too hard on her," Stonefang replied. "And that wouldn't help her at all." He thought about Deerpaw as a tiny little kit just after she was born and it brought a smile to his face. "Why can't kits stay small and innocent?" he asked wistfully. He stood and stretched his muscles. "Care to go for a walk?"
(Oh I like Poppyblush, Sandberries, and Desertrose. Those all have something to do with flower or berries. Maybe a fourth named Frostedblackberries instead of Nightfrost?)
Berryfrost grinnned, "well no, I don't think they allow parents to mentor their kits. It'd be to easy for the parent considering they raised them." She could just see Stonefang being the one chasing after Deerpaw off on her adventures. Oh, what a site that would be. "If it matters I don't think you'd be too hard on her." She was his little girl, wrapped around his paw. All she'd need to do was bat her lashes and he'd do anything. "If only my love, if only. But alas they must grow old, just as we shall. But not any time soon! Come show me the territory like we're apprentices again." She nudged against him as she headed towards the entrance, a spark in her steps as she went and her tail high.

(Sounds good to me!)
Her touch sent tingles through his fur and made him feel like an apprentice again. "What a wonderful idea! Remember the time we went up to Lookout Rock together?" That was a special memory to Stonefang. It was there he realized for the first time his true feelings for Berryfrost. "The moon was almost full ... in fact, I think the next night was the first time we went to a gathering. I loved how the moonlight danced through your lovely fur." He was speaking in a soft, wistful voice, cherishing this special memory.
"Really? I've always adored the starlight in your eyes, my love." Her own eyes softened at the memory of so long ago. Yes, they were getting older, but they were elders yet. Though, she hoped they had enough energy left in them for this surprise she has for him at the end of the night. Berryfrost could just imagine his flabbergasted look now. "Why don't we visit some of the places we've been on previous dates. Reminisce a little?"
Post by Whitemuzzle on Jun 5, 2019 18:45:42 GMT -5
"I'd love that," Stonefang purred. "You lead the way. But be sure to pick a place where we can see a lot of stars." He widened his eyes and smiled really big thinking about what she had just said. Finally a night to themselves. Not aware of any surprises she might have, he was just looking forward to spending some time with the love of his life, Berryfrost.
"My love, why would I need to do that when you've all the stars in your eyes?" It was cheesy she knew, but it was them and how they felt for one another. That the stars were literally in front of them, all they need do was look to the other's eyes. At least, that's how Berryfrost saw it. As far back as she could remember, she'd admired the night sky for up there were the cats of old, hidden as stars in order to watch of them. Her firm belief in StarClan had always strengthened that ideal. Then she'd met him. While she still firmly believed in StarClan, her stars were now before her.
Nonetheless, she took him towards the largest rock in the territory. It was the best place for star watching with its open clearing and high position. A meadow swallowed the rock unless you knew where to look, and the trees seemed to open up in just the perfect circle to show off the sky. Berryfrost had always believed it a blessing from StarClan that such a place existed within their territory.

Stonefang smiled even bigger at Berryfrost's comment. His heart swelled within his chest so much so that he could feel each heartbeat. "Thank you, my love," he breathed softly into her ear. "You're the sun and moon to me." He was content to follow where ever she was leading. As he walked, he barely even felt the ground on his foot pads. It was as if he was gliding over top the earthen pathway. When he realized her destination, he was very pleased and told her so. "Excellent choice! I can't think of a better place than this on such a lovely night as this."
His words had left her a blushing mess. Even after all this time she couldn’t believe his devotion to a simple she-cat like her. “Mmm, I hoped you’d like it.” It was secluded, and yet open. Welcoming and yet closed off. A perfect place for alone time. Berryfrost early hopped up on to the hidden rock, “will you be joining me tonight?” She said it with a grin that spoke of a testing tone, one that hinted that she already knew his answer.

"A whole sett of badgers couldn't keep me away from you," he purred softly. In one swift and graceful bound, he landed neatly next to Berryfrost. A cloud drifted past allowing the moon's light to illuminate the area. A few stars could be seen as well. "Ah, that's so nice," he said giving her ear a quick lick. "Did I tell you how beautiful you are?"
“Only a million times yet, my love.” A smile, a giggle, it was all it took to help turn her into mush. Her lover just knew her far to well. Berryfrost leaned into his side, body relaxing in what felt like the first time in days. “But I’d always like to hear it a million times more if you’d indulge me.”

"It would be my pleasure, my beautiful one," he purred. He liked the feeling of her weight against his side, the smell of the fresh, night air, and the way the moonlight accentuated her gorgeous coat. Stonefang's tail caressed Berryfrost's back in smooth, even strokes. "I wish we could stay like this forever."
"As do I. But we both have responsibilities and kits that need parenting." Speaking of kits. Berryfrost's grin only grew. Oh, how she just wanted to blurt out the news she'd learned only earlier today. The joy she could just see on his face at such news. The same look he'd given her the first time they been expecting kits.

"Our kits aren't 'kits' anymore," he replied as he nuzzled his nose in her neck fur. "They're nearly grown now." As he pondered what she had said, he sensed that Berryfrost wasn't telling him something - something important maybe. "Nothing's wrong with them, is there? It's not Deerpaw is it?" He feared that she had gotten herself into some kind of trouble once again.
