Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"Wow! the world is so much bigger outside of the camp!" Shiningkit breathed out in a whisper. Even though she darted out ahead she didn't get a good look at her surroundings before darting back into camp. The sunlight dappled the ground through the trees. And the tree's, they were so tall, much taller than they looked from inside the camp.
___
Cardinalstar glanced down at Shiningkit with amusement in his eyes. But at the same time was thrilled that he got to witness their first reactions outside of camp. The first time out was always overwhelming but the scenery never got old.
"Once you're bigger it won't seem so big. I know that's hard to understand now but one day you'll see." Cardinalstar purred in response. "Wait until you see how beautiful the garden is!" He added, walking in the direction of the garden.
"Don't we communicate with StarClan in the Garden?" Shiningkit asked with curious excitement, bouncing alongside Dovekit. ____
"Yes we do! The Garden is a very sacred place, no other Clan has this kind of connection to StarClan. They watch over us very closely!" Cardinalstar purred in response.
"That depends. Sometimes they make themselves visible to us if they have something to say but it doesn't happen often unless we're having our gathering with them. We have a gathering with StarClan every moon." Cardinalstar explained. "But don't worry, if you do see a StarClan warrior they're friendly and only here to offer advice."
_____
"I kinda hope we meet a StarClan warrior!" Shiningkit said excitedly, climbing over a medium sized rock in her path. She was thoroughly enjoying the change of scenery and sights and smells.
"One day we will be Starclan warriors..." Dovekit mewed, just barely loud enough for both of them to hear. It was more directed towards herself but aloud. She didn't want to be a Starclan warrior. She didn't want to die. At least, not any time soon.
Shiningkit glanced at Dovekit, slightly surprised to hear Dovekit whisper such a thing. "Well of course we will! But so won't mother and father and every one of our Clanmates!" She chirped, unfazed by the thought. "But that won't happen for a long, long time!"
"It could happen today if we are unlucky..."Dovekit mewed, her voice a little shaky. She was almost too freaked out to even go into the Japanese garden. She didn't want to see a Starclan warrior.
Shiningkit sighed and nudged Dovekit playfully. "I'm sure it won't! StarClan will protect us! It's sacred ground after all, right?" She said, looking up at their father.
____
Cardinalstar glanced down at the kits and gave an encouraging smile. "StarClan will protect you in the Garden, yes and the StarClan warriors are all friendly, they mean no harm."
Dovekit gulped nervously but followed her father and sister into the garden. "They still are creepy" she mumbled under her breath. Though when she stepped foot in the garden, the scenery was breath taking. "Wow...Its beautiful in here!"
Cardinalstar glanced around the Garden, it was full of wildlife and he had to suppress the urge to start hunting as it was strictly forbidden in the Garden. "Yes, it is. Very peaceful too." he responded.
____
"Wow!" Shiningkit breathed. "This is so cool!" She whispered excitedly nudging Dovekit's shoulder.
"But unfortunately we are not allowed to hunt here." Cardinalstar responded to Dovekit.
______
"Look at that butterfly!" Shiningkit squeaked excitedly bouncing over to a bright blue butterfly, who was peacefully perched on a leaf. She reached out her paw and poked it.
"Why? With all of this prey, we could be fed throughout leaf-bare!" She countered. She didnt quite understand that the prey couldnt be touched on sacred ground.
"Don't kill the butterfly!" Cardinalstar said sternly to Shiningkit before glancing back down at Dovekit. "We can't hunt here because this is sacred ground. StarClan visits here and the garden represents life and our connection to our ancestors and the world around us." he explained.
She still didnt quite understand why they would pass up something as precious as prey because Starclan said so but she eventually pushed it away. Cardinalstar was right about most things. If her father said not to hunt here, she will respect his demands. She saw the butterfly Shiningkit was playing with and bounded over to her, her gray tail high. "Don't hurt it!" Dovekit warned her sister, placing her paw next to the butterfly so that it crawled onto her paw.
"I won't! It's so pretty!" Shiningkit said quietly, watching in awe as the butterfly crawled onto Dovekit's paw. She watched the butterfly for a few more moments before curiously wandering over to the edge of the water. "Are there any fish?" She asked curiously.
____
Cardinalstar moved closer to the water, in case Shiningkit fell in. "No, there are no fish. This pond was made by humans a long time ago and then abandoned." he responded.
