Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"I have a talent for getting stung, that's all!" Greycloud responded jokingly. "Eventually I will become one with the bee's and they'll accept me as one of their own!" she said with a laugh.
"One day it will happen, you'll see!" Greycloud responded with a fake proud voice. "Anyways. I was going to visit the meadow. The flowers are pretty this time of year and there's rabbits!" Greycloud said excitedly. "Care to join me? You must get bored being stuck in camp all the time." she offered, she figured the medicine cat was enjoying his peace and quiet time out of camp and honestly who didn't like a stroll through the meadow?
He smiled. "Thanks. Most cats don't want to hang out with a cat that smells of sour herbs." He purred, twitching his whiskers in amusement as he walked beside her, his tail raised.
"Your den smells of sour herbs but that's about it!" Greycloud responded with amusement. "Or maybe I just don't notice it anymore, given the fact that I spend half my time in your den anyway with one injury or another!"
"Now that life is back to normal you need to get out more often. It's not good to be stuck in camp or your den all day! I mean how long has it been since you've chased a rabbit?" Greycloud asked, the meadow coming into her view. It was filled with flowers of many different colors and the grass was getting tall, it would be full of rabbits soon, if it wasn't already.
"Exactly. Rabbit hunting is good for the soul!" Greycloud chirped. Almost immediately after stepping into the meadow the scent of rabbit caught her attention. She couldn't see it yet, but she knew they were there. "By the smell of it, the meadow is full of them this year!"
"Hey, look more bee's!" Greycloud said with amusement, glancing at the flowers that already towered above her head, bee's buzzed lazily from flower to flower, paying no mind to the cats below. "There!" Greycloud said, freezing mid step. A large brown rabbit was munching away on some grass a few feet ahead of them, completely unaware of their presence.
He opened his mouth to made a joke about the bee when she stopped and pointed at a rabbit. He perked his ears when he saw it nibbling at some grass. He crouched down and beckoned for her to join him. "How do you want to do this?" He whispered.
"I'll sneak around and drive it towards you?" she suggested. Hunting rabbits in pairs was always the best option. It was doable alone, but you had to be fast and quiet, it was a skill mainly cats who lived in the open fields mastered but it was a skill Greycloud had dedicated herself to mastering as well.
Greycloud nodded in response and slunk around through the tall grass, carefully placing her feet so she didn't disturb the ground and startle the rabbit. When she was within a safe distance she broke into a run, quickly and easily covering the ground. The rabbit froze mid chew, took one look at Greycloud and bolted, straight in Smokecloud's direction.
Smokecloud almost hesitated for too long but managed to grab the rabbit just as it was about to swerve in another direction. The rabbit kicked and squealed in his grasp before he bit down and killed it. "We make a great team!" Smokecloud purred, rising to his paws.
"That was a great catch!" Greycloud panted, skidding to a halt a foot in front of Smokecloud. "And yeah we do! I mean tell me you miss hunting and patrolling? It can't be fun to always be stuck in camp or collecting herbs?" She teased playfully.
He nodded, "I do miss being a regular warrior...hunting rabbits with clanmates, going on patrol, protecting the clan. Being medicine cat isn't all that bad, though. I didn't plan on being permanent medicine cat. I was only doing it until Fawnheart returned but it doesn't look like she is going to..." He watched as a butterfly floated by and landed on a flower beside him. "I've been considering stepping down and becoming a regular warrior again...but the clan needs a medicine cat. Now that Whitepaw decided he didn't want to be medicine cat apprentice anymore, I no longer have an apprentice to hand the position over to..."
