Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. It was a weird sense of vertigo that played a torturous game with his mind. He couldn't sleep at all that night.
The last few days he had been numb with a sort of dreary exhaustion which had consumed the core of his mind in a foggy blur. Despite the ill disjointed feelings that followed his waking hours, it had managed to make sleep easy. His brain hadn't been able process the swiftly changing tides of his life, and it had left him in a state of drowsy detachment that had made finally falling into sleep some sort of safe-haven. Of course, however, such a bliss couldn't have lasted long.
All his troubles had chased after his mind, nipping at his heels, and finally in the dark of night they had caught up with him. Questions cut into him like knifes, "What? How? Why" were the question that sliced him, draining out into bleeding nonsense that just seemed to provoke a further frenzy of painful curiosity. By morning light he was exhausted, and no closer to any answers. The only closure seemed to be the start of the new day, but promised no comfort, merely the truth: Regardless of him, the world would continue. It less offered him the choice and more threatened him to either keep up or be left in the shadows. To Mindlesspaw, the latter was an unbearable thought, and so like clockwork he pulled himself out of his nest and started his day, as if the troubles of the night had not existed at all.
With a mechanical repetitiveness the new apprentice took to memorizing herbs, a realm of knowledge that felt incomprehensible to him when put in contrast to his familiarity with the battle moves and hunting techniques he had spent his kit-hood practicing. Still, he took to trying to make some pitiful connections in his brain between herb, appearance, and property, because his only other choice was to not do so, and because not doing so wasn't really a choice he could make.
(Apologizing now, my replies might suck this week. Football started up and I've gotta work it and do homework and workout and do clinicials. BUT I'm trying to do at least an hour each night on Classic so bare with me.)
Seablossom has stressed to the point she wasn't sleeping. Between kits, deputy duties, Ivorycrown, Applecrisp, and Crownglass, she was pulled thin. Her siblings were one thing, but it seemed like neither of them were on talking terms with each other and Ivorycrown was not with her. The kits were just that kits, and they couldn't do much but need her attention. Then there was Crownglass. The tom had moved to EarthClan just to be with her and yet, she was either stuck to his side in tears or to busy to even see him for a few days.
The poor cat didn't even know what to do! She was run so ragged that she'd nearly collapsed before the kits. The little ones had been scared enough that Amberkit had started crying for StarClan's sake! So, she'd finally made the treck to the medicine cat den. Maybe they could give her something to force her to sleep. Or at least some peace for a few hours so she could do just that.
