Her brown eyes shifted around the camp in boredom. What did the others do all day? Every time she opened her jaws to call someone over, they would leave the camp to go on some patrol. Hmph. Tatri plopped her rump on the ground in exasperation. She had been on the dawn patrol so now there was nothing to do for the rest of the day. Unfortunately, it seemed like everyone else had been assigned some sort of patrol. Go figure. Being a damy, she basically had to beg to be put on a patrol while the others got to go out and adventure. Her eyes flickered over to the nursery and a small feeling of guilt passed over her. Her kits had not complained about her absence yet, so surely they would be fine with her going on an adventure? Yes, that is what she would do. Today was the day she would venture out into the unknown. Now, who should she bring? Oh wait, there was no one around...
Ashley was used to living a life of mayhem. He enjoyed the violence, the chaos, the spontaneity. He was away from camp so much he was often looked upon as a stranger when he returned. He enjoyed a life of travel and would have it no other way. But when the tsar appointed him the officiating mentor of a kadet, his journeys ended. He couldn’t be gone for moons on end. He had to report back, had to be a responsible role model. It was driving him insane.
So there he was, sitting with itching feet beside a towering willow, enjoying the rough feel of the bark against his back. His adventures were inside his head now but they weren’t the same. He couldn’t feel the wind, the grasses, the water. He missed battle.

Ah, there was one cat who had somehow flown under her gaze. Tatri's odd eyes met the form of Ashley with excitement. She had heard some rumors about him and his tendency to fall into trouble's paws. Those rumors just reassured her that this next adventure was going to be interesting. Surely he would be up to going? With a little skip in her step, Tatri made her way to the tom. Her face was friendly as she approached and there was a gleam in her eyes. "Hello there. Ashley, right? I'm Tatri. You up for an adventure?" She meowed, straight-to-the-point and a little over-excitedly.
When he'd caught her eye and had watched her approach, there was a sense of dread that caused his heart to drop into his stomach. Not another flirtatious gal that would try – and fail – to gain his favor. Judging by the gleam in her eye, she had something up her sleeve and he wasn't interested in finding out what it was. He'd made it to his paws and was prepared to turn around and walk away if she had even a remote flirtatious lilt to her voice but her next words caught him off guard. Adventure? His eyes narrowed even as his heart skipped a beat. How he longed to feel the grass under his paws, the thrill rushing through his veins... "What's the catch?"

Tatri let a smirk slip to her muzzle and she flicked her tail under his chin. "Just that you come with me." She purred in response then laughed. "Really, no one wants to live a little around here. It would be nice to have some company for once."
Giving her tail a much deserved scowl at her brazen behavior, he inhaled a deep breath, willing the gods to give him what strength he needed. "Alright." A lazy smirk crossed his face. "But you invited me on this expedition," he raised his tail to point it accusingly at the she-cat, "so you lead the way."

Tatri gave him a little wink. "You act like leading the way is a burden." She giggled before bounding towards the camp exit. Truthfully, she had no idea where they were going but she knew it would be an adventure either way. His snarky attitude didn't phase her a bit. In fact, it actually fueled her energy. "So your name is Ashley. What else should I know about you? I don't want to go this whole journey not knowing the cat I'm traveling with."
If only she knew what could happen to the ring leader, he thought to himself with a groan. He loved risk, adrenaline, running from the next monster at his heels. But that was when he was on his own. When he was with others... they wound up a liability. A dependent. Just another thing to get in the way. He couldn’t secure their safety; most days he could barely secure his own. He needed to know she could handle things.
“Yeah, ha.” He grew silent, staring ahead at the path until she spoke again. “Is there anything you need to know about me other than my name? I’m a BrookClan member. Obviously I’m trustworthy. That’s all you need to know.”

"But ARE you trustworthy?" She questioned with a cocked brow and playful grin. "I mean, you could be following me just to murder me out on some random path." Her words continued in a sing-song manner, but there was some truth in them. It was hard to tell nowadays if Brookclan was really a group of cats you could trust, especially with the arena games being planned. She fought the shudder that threatened to run down her back.
He chuckled. "If I wanted you dead, we wouldn't be having this conversation." He continued walking, keeping his gaze focused ahead. "Drop your worries; they're annoying. This is an adventure, aren't you supposed to be more free-wheeling and carefree? This was your idea."
