Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Eveningriddle padded along the gorge, glancing down with idle curiosity. She had heard someone had fallen in and died recently. But it could have simply been started by the rumor mill so she wasn't sure how much stock she would put into it. Still it would be a rather horrible way to die. So much time to see yourself falling to your death. She wondered if your heart would simply stop from fright before one even hit the ground. Stepping away from the edge, cautioned by her own dark thoughts she decided to move away and back into the territory. Surely there were better things to do.
Meadowlark strode out of the shadows just as the she-cat pulled away from the edge. "What are you thinking about?" he asked. He had waited for the she-cat to do something farther from the edge to show himself in hopes he wouldn't have scared her and.. he shivered.
Solsticestar stayed silent, having be watching Eveningriddle with cautious curiosity. She opened her mouth, but closed it again to stay silent while Meadowlard spoke.
Celestialglow sat farther away from the edge. She had been watching Eveningriddle, curiously. She wondered what the she-cat was thinking getting so close to the edge like that. Especially with that rumor of a cat who had recently fallen down there was going around. She licked one paw and drew it over her ear. "You are pretty brave getting that close to the edge, aren't you?" She narrowed her green eyes at Eveningriddle, then they darted toward Meadowlark as the tom approached.
Eveningriddle turned, choosing to answer Meadowlark first, "I wasn't thinking of anything in particular. Perhaps how quickly one would die if they fell, nothing but idle curiosity I assure you." She smiled towards the tom and then dipped her head to Celestialglow. "Thank-you, though I'm not sure I'd call myself brave. Perhaps just sure of my footing and balance." Honestly she had never been that concerned about falling, having chosen one of the sturdier edges.
Celestialglow didn't answer, instead she only eyed the cliff with her green eyes. Her clanmate was either brave or mouse-brained. Either way, she would rather keep her mouth shut for once. "Does anyone know who the cat was that fell?" She asked finally after a couple awkward moments.
With narrow eyes, Meadowlark replied. "I would hope not. Any cat who has thoughts like that should always talk to someone." The tom thought for a moment if they should go look.. however, he dismissed the thought quickly, unsure of what they would find.
"I think it might just be a rumor to be honestly. Perhaps started by one of the mentors to keep their apprentices away from the edge." Eveningriddle spoke up, casting a glance over towards the other two. Perhaps a little amused by their conversations direction. "Mothers and mentors, the two suspects most likely to start rumors to keep younger cats from doing something."
Meadowlark stared towards the edge. "Yes, that must be it. Now lets move on from this subject," he said, turning to pad away. "Others will start to think we're WinterClan cats or something."
Celestialglow shuddered as she moved away from their position and as far away from the edge as possible. Eveningriddle was probably right. Mentors or mothers making up rumors to keep the younger cats safe. She would probably do the same thing. She then seemed like she had no point in being there. "Eh, anyway. Why waste my time here anyway? I'll see you around" She mewed to both Eveningriddle and Meadowlark before turning tail and disappearing into the ferns.
"Winterclan is going through some changes I've heard." She spoke up, proving herself something of a gossip. After Celestialglow had bounded from view and left the two of them alone. Perhaps a cat who liked to hear others opinions. The pretty she-cat turning sea-foam colored eyes towards Meadowlark, trying to see if this news came as a surprise to him. She stood and started heading off deeper into the territory.
Meadowlark followed, matching her pace. "Oh really?" he asked. He wasn't one for much gossip, however he very much disliked the way WinterClan ran their group. "I did not know that. That's good though.. I've never heard of a clan sacrificing their own cats." he muttered.
"Doesn't Brookclan do some form of it?" She asked slowly, trying to remember what it was about their neighbor she had heard that reminded her of Winterclan. "Oh! They execute cats, that's it. If they break their silly rules or something. It's odd how they run themselves. It's like we're one of the few clans that remembers our roots.""
