Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. A few late season snowflakes drifted down from the cloudy sky, landing on the toms pale grey tabby pelt. Pale amber eyes looked up at the heavens with a sneer; it was supposed to be new-leaf soon, why in the name of the stars was it snowing? Wolfriot shook his head and padded on. The large tom slunk through the undergrowth, his head and tail low with jaws parted. The nutty scent of a squirrel flooded over him, causing his mouth to water.
Pinpointing the creature, Wolfriot began his hunt. Keeping low, he spotting the fluffy tailed creature sitting on the roots of an old oak, a nut held in its paws. Creeping forward, Wolfriot could only imagine the hot taste of blood in his mouth. But while daydreaming, he didn't pay attention to where he was putting his paws. Crack! Letting out a startled yowl, Wolfriot jumped back only to look up and see his prey starting to scoot up the tree. "Oh no you don't!" he snarled. Giving a gigantic leap, he sunk his claws into the squirrels tail and pulled the rodent down and into his jaws where he made the kill.
Where the other was a wolf he was a coyote, lean and willowy, made for outmaneuvering pursers and taunting adversaries. The black hand members eyes turned bright when he spotted Wolfriot, having always gotten a kick out of their differing names. Where the wolf was a symbol of perseverance and strength, the coyote was a symbol for trickery and deceit. What came to mind when one might think of a coyote often applied easily to Coyoteway himself. He wondered if it was the same for Wolfriot. "Nice catch." He purred as he pushed forward into view, done with his rather invasive watching.
Flashing the tom a grin, Wolfriot replied with a, "Thanks. Squirrels always give a fun chase." He didn't really know his Clanmate all the well, except for that he was part of the Blank Hand. Wolfriot had always admired those warriors, striving to become one himself one day. But there was always something else to be focusing on that he could put his talents to use more. "You out here hunting, or do you just wander around and spy on warriors all day long?"
"Depends how lazy I'm feeling." He joked, flashing a sharp grin. "If I'm feeling lazy I spend all day spying yes. It's much less taxing than hunting." While not true it was an amusing thought, but Coyoteway would never be bothered enough to spend a whole day dedicated to watching another cat. "Right now before I ran into you I was just out on a couple.. errands. But after seeing your impressive hunting skills I thought it'd be almost rude to not say anything."
