Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Objective : Whitepaw makes a friend either with a StarClan cat or dark Forest cat.
Whitepaw sat in the darkness, the sun had just gone down and most of his clan-mates where in their nests. The black tom melted into the darkness save for his white paws. He let out a sigh, and wondered what his life would be like. Being both blind and deaf, even though his blindness was only partial, made his future unknowable. He didn’t have any friends, save for the darkness and stars at night. He sent out a prayer to who ever was listening to him. Begging them for a friend, or at least someone to talk with that wouldn’t judge him. After he said his prayer he went and looked at the Queens and their kits in the nursery , hoping that someday someone will love him and make him feel loved. Sure he traveled to the Dark Forest and the stars of StarClan surrounded him in his dreams, each fighting for his soul and heart.
A lean dark brown tom with a white splash on his chest and white underbelly appeared beside Whitepaw. Flashfire had heard Whitepaw speaking and had decided to pay the young cat a visit. He smelled distinctly of StarClan now, there was no trace of which Clan the tom had once been a part of. "Hello, Whitepaw." Flashfire spoke quietly, his pale green gaze studying the black tom.
Flashfire offered a friendly smiled and nodded his head. "Indeed I am." he answered. "You seemed like you could use a friend, so what seems to be going on, Whitepaw?" Flashfire asked, sitting down and curling his tail over his paws.
Whitepaw shuffled his paws quietly. "Well, I don't have any friends. I guess most think I'm useless since I am partially blind and deaf." He replied looking up at the Flashfire.
"Well do you think you're useless?" Flashfire asked the young tom gently. He paused for a few moments before continuing. "It doesn't matter what they think, it matters what you think of yourself. Prove them wrong." he said gently, offering a friendly smile.
"Come with me." Flashfire said, rising to his paws and padding out of the NightClan camp. "Have you begun to practice hunting?" he asked, glancing back at Whitepaw. "You will have to rely heavily on your sense of smell and mentally map the territory in your mind. Your path will be difficult but I will help you. If you'd like." Flashfire said.
Flashfire nodded in response, the StarClan tom thought it quite odd that an apprentice didn't have a mentor, back in his day even if an apprentice's mentor died they were assigned a new one very quickly, but then again he lived a long time ago. "Then let's explore the forest first, you'll need to familiarize yourself with every branch, bush, and rock before you can begin to hunt." Flashfire said with an encouraging tone.
Flashfire stopped a few feet from outside the camp entrance, he could tell that a patrol passed not long ago but he wasn't entirely worried, at this moment only Whitepaw could see him in the physical world. He could also tell that there was a squirrel in the trees above them, slowly moving around near its den. "Use your sense of smell, what do you smell? Can you feel what's around you?" he asked, his pale gaze resting calmly on Whitepaw.
Whitepaw stopped beside the StarClan warrior and lifted his nose into the air, closing his eyes he took a deep breath. " I smell... A squirrel above us." He whispered to Flashfire.
"Good, now what about any of your Classmates?" he prompted the young tom. "Can you tell when the last patrol set out? Over there is a larger rock, can you sort of see the shape of it?" Flashfire asked, motioning off to the right with his tail.
"Good!" Flashfire responded. "Let's head deeper into the forest and see what we can find for prey out there." he said, heading deeper into NightClan's territory.
