Soft tail curled around dainty paws, big blue eyes searching out among the moving stream of cats that passed him by. A picture painted under a soft sky with pastels and light strokes. Desperately trying to hide the monster that gnawed that weak bars that caged it. The ever weakening resolve to whittle sharp teeth and sheath wicked claws. Taking after the great-uncle Alexei he never knew, a tsar of long past.

How easy it would be to rip into soft fur, to bite undefended throats, to laugh as he bathed within the blood of those who dismissed him, walked by without any notice of him. Slowly blue eyes blinked and Changeling cocked his head, dumping such thoughts out to roll away across the soft dirt, tail twitching as if to brush unseen distasteful things away. He needed to be calm, needed to remind himself he was no longer a free cat. No longer able to simply go on a day trip, state his bloodlust and then return.

But being within the Monarchy, being within the cradle of an old mother he never knew, it was enough of an incentive to leave such a thing behind.
