Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Eternalstar hummed a jaunty tune as she moved towards the designated meeting place, where she had early told Lemonburst to meet her. It was late, the sun would be setting soon, but not quite night yet. The brown and white tabby not having wanted to set off any internal alarm bells Lemonburst might have. It would be best if this went as smoothly as possible, but she wasn't truly worried. The only cat that had given her trouble thus far being Softpelt, but she had taken care of that issue tidily enough.
Lemonburst hadn't exactly been surprised when his brother had stepped down from leader. The poor dude had been having a rough couple of moons, what with the cult taking up residence in his Clan, and then Lemonburst taking up residence in his Clan, and then SunClan being...well, SunClan. Still, perhaps there had been a small bit of him that hadn't expected his brother to bail so early. Oh well, at least Lemonburst would be sticking around for a little while longer. I can't believe that only a few moons after I arrive, he packs up and leaves...How typical of him.
He spotted the new SpringClan leader a short way off in the distance; she seemed...happy about something. He shrugged it off - Lemonburst would probably be pretty happy too, if he'd just suddenly been appointed as leader. "Good evening, Eternalstar," he said, greeting the she-cat with a polite (if not slightly gruff) dip of the head.
[ can I just say I have Eternal straight up setting up to ruin not only her clanmates life's but other clans as well. I've had to make a google doc to keep track of everyone she's preparing to screw over. I love it. ]
"Good evening Lemonburst." She hummed softly, tilting her head as she considered him. While not a bad specimen she still didn't trust him, was wary of him being with Springclan. Worried he might carry word back to Peachblush. While she could probably circumvent the problem of the old leader coming back and speaking against her she would rather avoid the possibility all together. She was already battle with Fawnheart and would rather not have another cat that could potentially make Cardinalheart realize how deeply she was manipulating him to compete with. "Sorry to ask you to meet with me so late. I just wanted to ask what your plans are? Will you be following your brother away from Springclan?
Lemonburst frowned at the new leader's words. Did Eternalstar think he was going to leave SpringClan just because his brother had deserted them? "...Did you expect me to?" the pale tom asked, eyes hardening somewhat. "Because despite what you may think of me, leaving SpringClan is the furthest thing from my mind right now. I...I just got settled here," he muttered, choosing to avert his eyes to the side rather than make full eye contact with her.
"I wouldn't say I expected you to no. But it was a worry I had." She confided, dipping her head in an unspoken apology. "After all family is often very dear to us. When I took a sabbatical from Springclan myself back in my youth both my siblings followed me. But perhaps we have a closer bond than I had assumed that might be a little more rare among littermates than I believed." She glanced over at Lemonburst and gave a soft smile, trying to ease ruffled feathers; preparing for a different approach.
"Peachstar has not been family to me since he up and left with his little boy toy," Lemonburst growled, but for some reason, the words didn't feel right coming out of him. He couldn't bring himself to drop the -star suffix from his brother's name either, he realised - okay, so maybe Eternalstar's suspicion wasn't entirely unjustified, but still. Lemonburst had manners, sometimes.
"I'm prepared to put in double the work, just to prove myself to you," he offered, trying to placate the she-cat, "if that;s what you want me to do."
( poor lemonburst xD sorry i haven't replied in a while, i've been caught up in trying to code lmao )
( that's fine I admire that dedication. hopefully it doesn't drive you to drink like it does me. also yes poor Lemonburst. Are you deleting him or moving him? I have another plot idea but it could be used for any springclan cat Eternal kicked out. / was thinking Cicero hunts down one of the ones she banished to interrogate them about his daughter. )
Eternalstar said nothing for a long moment, letting the weight of it settle across them, letting it sink into the others mind and drive any possible doubts to the forefront. When she did speak it was slow, drawn out, intentions behind the words left to fester in ones mind. "I don't require that, as frankly I worry there isn't much you could do to prove yourself. Not when your very words just now, and your actions in the past speak towards a loyalty towards him you won't ever reach with me. Despite your perceived dislike of his actions."
