Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
(I would love for them to be something of star crossed lovers, where Mongrel slowly softens for her. And tells her and urges her to leave and she leaves but makes him promise to stay in touch. and he does until Eternal is banished from Spring and he flees too since he was like her most trusted and worries about others taking retribution on him. and he disappears from her life and she thinks he abandoned her. Until moons later he turns up in Fallclan and they reconnect.)
"Birds are normally the hardest things to catch..." He stated, a little confused by her answer. "How do you struggle with everything but birds." He repeated obviously still a little baffled. Before shaking his head, "I guess we'll focus on things like mice then, which should be the easiest thing." As if to emphasize his statement he tossed her another sideways look. "What do you normally do to start a hunt?"
"I think it's because I used to catch birds a lot back when I was a kittypet." Softpelt said with a sheepish shrug. "I got really good at catching them, but I'm awful at chasing rabbits, mice always hear me coming, and squirrels are just to quick for me as well," Softpelt muttered. "Plus, I'm good at finding nests and robins are very protective of their nests you know. So you're likely to always find one during newleaf, and there's a place where a bunch of seed winds up and birds like to go there. Along with a spot that has plenty of really soft mud, which is good for worms." Softpelt meowed tail flicking. "I guess I just... know where birds tend to frequent, or where to find them and I just... go for them?" She said shrugging.
"But okay! Mice right, hmm." Softpelt hmmed. "Well, like I said with birds I tend to go to areas I know they like to be, and where they're likely to be a bit distracted... but they don't always go to those places. So... failing that I'd sniff around and see if I find anything."
"Alright. We start small then, since it seems catching birds came with lots of practice. Sadly I'm not sure Eternalstar will give us lots of time to practice for each type of prey." Mongrel huffed, thinking of the leaders stern features and sharp eyes. "But we can practice the fundamentals. So for now just try and scent out anything, and list back to me what you smell, how far you think it is, and in what direction." Starting from the beginning, much like he would with a young cat, seemed a good way to go about this he decided.
