Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Slowly, she tilted her head back, fascinated by the drooping willows overhead and the soft drone of birds and bugs in the air. The river called her close and she perched on the edge, looking over the frothing waters and letting it run through her mind. It was the first time the kittypet had ever seen so much moving water at once, and it was almost overwhelming, how much larger the river was than the little streams she had seen running through the streets.
The honey-and-cream she-cat settled down on the ground and curled her tail around her paws, sitting by the edge of the water in peace. The faint sun breaking through above illuminated her coat and she fluffed out her fur, purring slightly as it warmed her.
The scent had drawn her to the area. An intruder, but the scent was different. Not like another clans or the normal earthy smell of loners. Yet, definitely a cat. Her nose wrinkled slightly as she crept forward. Her eyes narrowed to slits as she gave a small growl. Surely this cat must have not known any better, crossing onto a clan’s territory without a second thought. “Are you aware that you are trespassing on my clan’s territory?”
She turned her head at another cat's voice, pleasantly surprised to find someone else wild in the forest. "Oh, I'm sorry," she apologized with a purr. "I hadn't realized this was your corner. I'm new around here, and I didn't see a fence." She rose to her paws and stretched. She had run into grouchy kittypets from time to time that hadn't liked others within their fences, and assumed that this other cat must be the same.
“Fence?” What on earth was that? The She-cat crinkled her nose. The scent the cat was giving off was rather... sweet, yet stale. Now it made sense. “You’re one of those kitty pets, aren’t you?” This would be the first time she had ever met one, but she had heard they were all skittish and prone to run at fight sight of another cat. So why was she not running now? Her ears twitched, curiously. Who was this cat?
Well, maybe that was why she didn't have a fence: she didn't know what they were! Amusement crossed her pale leafy gaze. "I'm not a kittypet... I don't think. I'm not sure what that is. I'm a house cat," she offered helpfully. The way she spoke made it sound like kittypet was a bad thing, so she was pretty sure she wasn't one of those.
Okay, definitely a kitty pet. Her nose crinkled as she stood and walked closer, sniffing her furs. “Definitely a kitty pet...” her words were a mumble before she took a step back. “Most if you are afraid of forest cats like me. How come you aren’t?” It was a simple question to be asked, but it might seem as if it were an odd one to the cat before her.
Hazelstorm eyed her suspiciously. "Should I be scared of you? You don't seem very threatening. Just curious." Not happy either, but that was understandable; she was on this cat's yard, apparently. "Most of my friends are just scared of every cat they've never before. But I know most new cats are pretty friendly once you get to know them."
She couldn’t help but somewhat ignore the cat’s ramblings. “What are you doing out here in the woods? Isn’t this a little far from your home?” Questions questions. She couldn’t help it, she had never met a cat whom likes to live with those terrible twolegs. After all, it was against the warrior code.
Hazelstorm didn't answer that. The kittypet was a bit naive, but she wasn't stupid, and she wasn't going to tell a stranger where she lived. "I didn't come here just to trespass on your yard, if that's what you meant. I had no idea you claimed this place. I didn't know strays even got their own yards, most I've met just roam around the houses in search of scraps and lazy prey."
“Stray?” She mewed, Bose wrinkling. Whatever that meant, she was not that. “I’m not a stray. I’m a warrior.” She was still considered such, if she were a leader, right? Of course she was. She held true to her warrior and clan roots. Despite her frame, which was rather small, but recovering.
Hazelstorm smiled. "If you're a warrior, then I'm a housecat," she replied with a twitch of her ears. "Not a kittypet." See? They could both play the name game. She was proud of figuring that one out.
Well, she had to say. This kittypet was a bit clever. Her nose wrinkled for a second before she shrugged then. “Is there something you wanted?” Why was she being so nice?
Violetstar began to look this cat over. Pure curiosity. If this cat made it this far, was she suited for clan life? Her paws looked clean, well, so did all of her. She narrowed her eyes. “Can you hunt?”
"I've caught a few fish." She blinked at her, owlish eyes wide with innocent confusion at the question. The fish she'd caught had been captive in a tank, but she didn't think it was wise to mention that.
