Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The sun was so bright she could barely see. Her eyes squinted for several seconds, and finally her eyes managed to adjust. Before her was a leafy green tree, and she found herself a bit confused. It was leafbare, but why was it so warm? A breeze drifted across the land, fluffing her furs. In the side of her vision she spotted something swaying in the breeze. She turned to get a better look, and it was a hazel nut. As far as she knew, WaterClan didn’t even have a tree like this in their territory... It was then that it fell, and she watched as it did. It landed in a puddle, ripples spreading through the water as it bobbed for a moment and began to float.
Violetstar opened her eyes, brows furrowed. It took a moment, but she knew what it meant. She pushed herself from her nest and out of her den.
___
This would be her first time doing this. It was a little nerve wracking. Her heart pounding, but she knew she would eventually grow used to these things. Violetstar stood atop the highest spot in the cavern. The camp was placed behind a waterfall, dim sunlight seemed to peek from the water and spill into the area. The sound of the water crashing was not as loud as one would think, and had become rather comforting to the cats of WaterClan.
Her purple eyes surveyed the cats below her. She took in a deep breath, and meowed loud enough for her voice to echo the cave.
“All cats old enough to catch their own fish, please gather below for a clan meeting.”
Violetstar had a few things that needed to be done.
An announcement? Chim glanced sideways up at her, curious, as he rose to his paws and sulked closer. He stayed at the fringe of the crowd with a disinterested expression, though his ears pointed her way, and he was listening to what she had to say.
Hazelstorm cocked her head. This was the first major meeting since she'd join the cats, and excitement thrummed through her forepaws. The hazel she-cat bounded over to join the group, sitting near the center of the gathering crowd and turning her eyes up to the leader. What would it be about?

Eclipseknight sat to the side, watching Violetstar without a word. The daughter of the late Musicalstar was glad, truly, that WaterClan had survived in the end, though she had, admittedly, left them for a while. That would likely take a while for those who stayed to get over, but in her defense, she was leading young cats, her own family, to safety, and no one could fault her care for them. Not too much, anyway.

Goldrush poked his head out of the Medicine Cat's den. His golden gaze looking up to Violetstar. They hadn't had an official clan meeting before. Not since being recognized as a clan with borders in the territory. He stepped fully form the den and sat outside its entrance.

Rainpaw’s bright blues were full of apprehension as he awaited his new mentor. Bearheart had been one of the warriors that died due to the sickness, leaving the apprentice mentorless. He gazed around the tattered clan, a pang of grief rippling in his heart. His brothers should be among them...
Her gaze swept across as the cats gathered. Pride swelled inside her. The cats before her had been through so much, and done everything that they could for the clan. “Umbrapaw, Rainpaw, and Skylerpaw please step forward.”

His heart felt empty for a minute as he imaged Aspenpaw and Breezepaw's names being called, but he shook the feeling. He would continue to work hard in their place. Rainpaw stepped forward confidently, although he could feel his legs beginning to shake under the eyes of his clan. He hoped to make them proud...
Skylerpaw let out a slow breath, his thoughts running along similar lines as Rainpaw. His littermates should have been here, alongside him. It shouldn't have been just.. himself. All the same, he stepped forward.
Once the three had stepped forward she began once more. “All three of you have stuck by your clan when we needed you most. It’s time we returned to you the favor and finished your training so that you three can receive your warrior names. Umbrapaw, your mentor will be Chimerahunt. He is a noble warrior, despite his attitude. He can teach you what you need to know.” She paused once more.
“Skylerpaw, your mentor will be Ottermystique. She is a swift warrior, and will show you the right path.” One last pause.
“Rainpaw, you hve endured much through this, your dedication to your clan has not been unnoticed. I will be your mentor and finish your training.” Violetstar mewed. It was not often leaders took on apprentices, but she had decided she wanted to be the one to mold Rainpaw into a warrior of WaterClan.
Him, a mentor? Chim's muzzle wrinkled in distaste.
Wyverndelirium looked at his brother in surprise, then back at the leader. As much as he loved his littermate, there was a reason Chim had not been given an apprentice before, and he doubted anything had changed. Still, he raised his muzzle to join in calling out the names.
Despite all the cats that would question her choice, she trusted Chimerahunt. Violetstar saw him as a noble warrior. He had a heart, despite wishing that others did not know of it. Her eyes shifted across the tom’s features, a small smile pulling at her lips.

Shock ran through his body like lightning, but it was the kind of feeling that made your muscles shake with excitement. Violetstar was going to be his mentor? Apprehension settled into his stomach as he questioned his skills. He surely hoped he would never disappoint her. Even still, he strode forward to touch noses with the she-cat, honored that she had chosen him to be her apprentice. In that moment, he felt more glad than he had been the past several moons.
Violetstar had turned her attention from the others to her new apprentice, a soft smile touching her lips. She bent slightly and touched her nose to the young cat’s, her eyes briefly closing. “Don’t worry, I’ll go easy on yah.” She mewed teasingly, showing she wasn’t all business all the time.
