Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Though he'd been a (mildly) proud member of BrookClan for almost a moon now, it still didn't feel like much of a home to Haru. That seemed to be a reoccuring problem with him, he thought to himself; his previous place of residence had felt nothing much like a home either, and the presence of cats who were for sure his blood relatives was the only thing keeping the young tom from suspecting his entire stay there had been nothing more than a mistake. He shook his head and padded deeper into the undergrowth of BrookClan's territory, keeping half an eye out for any territory that belonged solely to the royals - he disagreed with the concept that some cats were worth more than others simply because of their circumstances of birth, but he was willing to play by the Clan's rules for at least a little while longer, since apparently they didn't mind executing a cat or two sometimes. Then again, perhaps the sweet release of death would be a comfort, at this point.
Haru kept padding onwards, not particularly sure of where he was going. He wondered if a voiny would come and stop him, given that he was only a kadet and appeared to be wandering completely out of the territory. What would he do, in the case that someone did try and stop him from leaving? Probably just widen his eyes a little bit and spin some tall tale about childhood trauma, or something. It had worked previously, somewhat - he'd been on the receiving end of a few sympathetic stares from some of his new Clanmates, but he didn't quite understand why. Some overzealous kadet or worrisome damy was spreading lies about him, probably. He'd gotten the sense that his appearance in the Clan had felt quite mysterious to some of BrookClan - again, not something he could really understand, but if they wanted to try peel off a mask with nothing underneath, that was their problem. He frowned as he heard what sounded like another cat neaby, the sound of rustling leaves hanging heavily in the otherwis quiet forest. "Hello?" he called out, tone bland. "I'm not a trespasser, if that's what you're worried about. I've been here, like, a month now..."
The sound of bell laughter could be heard as the she-cat pushed through the leaveseven though its damn ass winter why are there leaves. It wasn't uncommon for her to be louder than she had expected. She hadn't quite learned how to control herself, at least not to the standard of a stealthy cat. Perhaps she never would. She wasn't sure she was against that, against the idea that she would forever live in the wonderland in which she currently resided. It was a good place. And, for the most part, it wasn't a fantasy land. It just came with the cards she had been given. Sure, there was some residual pain from immediate abandonment, and from the death of two of her siblings. But, other than that, she lived a good life. She was the adopted daughter of the most powerful cat in the forest (at least that's how she considered her ma), she had the best mentor in the world; there was nothing that Lua could be unhappy about. She was idealistic and had yet to be utterly destroyed by the crushing weight of reality. She was innocent and naive and good, just generally good. That goodness could be understood just by her laugh, and how it twinkled and echoed freely through the air.
"Of course I know you've been here for like a month, silly!" came the purr of the she-cat as she entered his direct line of sight. Her motions were quick, yet they held a dancelike fluidity to them. Perhaps this was just because she was a pretty cat, a brown torbie, so anything she did would be posed in such way. "You're name is Haru, right?" She smiled at him widely. Her smile drew cats to her. It radiated a deep happiness, one that was untouched by the fact that realistically she had every reason to be upset. "I'm Lua!"

Haru relaxed almost immediately, the she-cat familiar to him even if he'd only just learned her name. He once only knew her as the bright, bouncy young thing that seemed able to infect everyone with a happiness almost as intense as hers. Well, not quite Haru, since he was practically dead inside, but he was a firm believer in the fake it 'til you make it idealogy; if everyone else was happy around Lua, then he'd simply have to believe he could be too, and in theory he would be. He straightened his posture slightly, and brightened up his eyes - little things, just to make him seem slightly more...normal.
"That's me," he replied with a wide smile. "I'm glad I finally know your name, Lua. You've left a big impression on me previously." He paused very briefly, suddenly aware that cats their age generally didn't speak like a robot. "I mean, you seem cool."
