Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It was days like this what forced Woody to reconsider if he really wanted to be a member of SummerClan. He loved the clan fiercely and his life here wasn’t shaping up so bad either— a little isolating but that would turn itself around surely once everyone had a little taste of how impressive he truly was— but with a scorching hot noon sun pouring heat down his back, it was harder to focus on the positives. Not that the bright little optimist wouldn’t make the best of it, but with his long glossy fur all he really wanted to do today was curl up beneath a nice shady bush and let the sun pass by.
Instead, he found himself entrenched hock-deep in sandy running to mud, fighting a perilous battle against the current. Tide was rising, the effect on a lake slight bit noticeable, especially when every high wave was threatening to send water crashing through his masterpiece and turn a ditch into a moat. His back paws rested on solid ground as he dug his hole deeper, keeping one watchful eye on the water. When the wind sent it too close, he leaped back with his fur on end, growing a fierce nervous warning.
The sun was indeed warm, the heat threatening to catch their pelt aflame as the pale brown feline worked their way through the forest. And though the trees and leaves did offer a nice amount of shade, it was still unbelievably warm. Uncomfortably, even. And so without even so much as a thought, their paws began to carry them further towards the sounds of water lashing against the shore. And though Ceropegiaroot hadn't been in the Clan for that long, only a few weeks at this point, he'd not had the chance to visit the lake. Appledelight had promised, though she was always so busy and turned around, that plans usually did tend to be forgotten. They didn't mind, though, it'd been like that ever since they'd became friends.
Listening instead to the calming waves and watching the glint of the sun sparking on the surface like a million stars, he simply heaved a breath of calm and quietly beneath the comfort of a shaded tree. That is, until their attention was caught by a figure hunched in the sand. Ceropegiaroot watched with mild interest for a time, their ears flicking with the occasional subtle amusement as he watched a divot in the sand turn slowly into a decently sized hole. And then, amazingly, having somehow avoided the wrath of the waves this far. Though it was growing closer, and they could tell that it'd only be a matter of time before the waves did in fact breach it.
Getting up, entirely out of character in his own sense, they made their way quietly towards the cat. Silent ever as a shadow, they only made their presence known by giving a slight clear to their throat. "Erm, if you... sometimes, if you make a wall... or a little ditch in the sand, the water doesn't fill it in..." his offer was supposed to be genuine and helpful, but as always, talking didn't come naturally. And so, what was supposed to sound like advice instead tumbled out in awkward bouts of unsure theory.
