Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The sun began to peak over the mountain side. The sky transitioning from shade of lavender, soft gold, and dark purples to the dazzling blue of a clear summer day. Sunlight began to stream into the Fallclan’s warrior den. Blue eye cracking open and quickly shut at the sight of the bright light. His eyes opened again and he stood up and stretched letting out a yawn in the process.
Leaping down from his nest he left the Warriors’ den taking in the state of the fresh kill pile. It was looking rather bare from the night before. He made the split decision to go out hunting on his own. He always liked hunting on his own. It gave time for Bijou to process his thoughts. It also allowed him to sneak off to the burial grounds. He took the familiar walk down into the valley next to Fallclan’s Camp. Stopping at the entrance he couldn’t bring his paws to carry him into the place. From his vantage point he could see the familiar stones of his father Thrushstar, siblings Larkclaw and Brokenfear. Next to them was the makeshift memorial that was supposed to represent his mother Eternalstar, as well as his kits Foxkit, Applekit, and now Batflower. He noticed the stones looked aged and finally covered in moss.
Bijou was just about to leave when he noticed something out of place. A faint scent that didn’t smell like Fallclan. The white fur along his back prickled as he tried to figure out where the scent was coming from. He took a step into the burial grounds and the scent became clearer. It wasn’t fresh, actually rather stale, but still there. He began to track it to figure out if the cat that had past through here was still hanging around on Fallclan’s territory. It started to become stronger the close he got and mingled with the scent of another cat. He came upon a patch of long grass. Within that long grass sat a kitten.
Applekit was dozing in the grass, his reddish fur soaking up the early morning sun. His mother had left hours ago to go hunting but had not been back. She never takes this long. He didn't hear the older tom, but the wind changed and suddenly he smelled the other cat. Applekit opened his eyes and looked to see Bijou coming up on his hiding place.
He jumped back as best his little paws could take him and let out a hiss. He didnt know this cat. How had he been found? Where was his mother? All of these questions rolled through his mind. He let out another tiny hiss, "Who are you?"
Seeing the reddish fur he thought for a moment he was seeing a ghost and seeing his son Foxkit. But when the kit’s eyes flashed open and scrambled to his paws. The tom took a step back to put a small distance between the two. “I should be asking the same thing.” Bijou responses allowing the fur along his back to lay flat. Trying to consider the fact that he might frighten the kit with the multi scars on his face. A kit wasn’t much of a threat to the former leader, but the kit’s mother would be a potential threat if she was in the area. “My name is Bijou may I ask how you ended up here in this patch of grass.” He asked.
Applekit remained where he was, fur raised along his back. So scary. His blue eyes watched the other cat as he backed away some. "Momma said she was going to hunt but she's been gone a long time." He says truthfully. "I'm Applekit." The older tom looked scary but he didn't sound threatening. His stomach rumbled a bit at the thought of his mother bringing back food. "She left before sunlight..." he says. "She told me to stay here."
"Before sunlight hmm..." Bijou turned his head toward the sky to see if he could see the location of the sun peeking out between the treetops. It appeared from where he was standing the sun was closer to its highest point in the sky. He frowned turning his attention back to the kit. The kit had said his name was Applekit, Was his mother a clan cat? A rogue or loner that was a former Clan cat?. "It's nice to meet you Applekit. You said your mother hasn't been back in a while?" He asked.
Applekit watches the older tom with weary eyes. "Yes. I'm worried something happened to her..." he says. His mother likely got spooked and lost her way in the unfamiliar territory. Just like what had happened to his sister. He didn't need to mention her yet though. He likely would never see her again or his Mother again.
The thought made him tear up, but he wouldn't cry in front of a stranger. No way.
