Gardeniaaroma found the new Sunclan territory to be interesting and a far cry from their old territory. While the sun appeared to be rather hot and made the ground bake beneath her paws. She found it rather surprising there were a lot of shady places to cool off. Along with many water sources where she could take a small midday swim. One of her favorite places to explore was the forest tucked down within a canyon The high rocky cliffs offered shaded and protection from the wind as well as the sun. The trees offered coverage to stalk prey that would attempt to seek shelter from the midday sun. As she crept deeper into the canyon she was hoping to see something that would catch her interest.
Well, she did find something. However, it was not prey like she was probably hoping. No, instead it was Oceaneyes. The clan leader.
Her blue eyes sparkled in the sunlight that filtered between the branches, and a toothy smile was given to the cat as she was seen laying beneath one of the said trees.
"Oh, Gardeniaaroma. Sorry, I must have already scared off a bit of the prey around here, I was just resting my paws." She mewed sheepishly.
Gardeniaaroma was slightly annoyed that her chances of brushing up on her hunting skills had been ruined by the other cat. “Err that’s okay. What type of prey have you seen? I’m still trying to get a grasp on navigating this new territory. Mainly this canyon I wouldn’t want to get lost in here.” She meowed walking towards the clan leader. She choose to take a small rest in the shade. Taking a seat near Oceaneyes but still a comfortable distance between the two. She lifted her paw licking it and running in over her ear.
She shook her head,"I haven't seen any coming this way. I do know a few of the better hunting spots though." Oceaneyes responded. "Closer towards the stream that runs towards the other clans, a lot of the little critters like to head that way towards the water."
“It would be nice to take a dip in the stream. It is rather hot out today. Maybe I can attempt to catch some minnows?” Gardeniaaroma responded and had stood up on her paws. Ready to set out again to find the stream that Oceaneyes suggested. “Wait how does one catch minnows?” She asked have no clue on how to fish.
She smiled, pushing herself to her paws and giving her coat a quick shake. "I'm not the best at fishing, but perhaps.. we can figure it out together." The stream ran all the way into their camp, and through the tunnel entrance. Though the fish seemed more prominent towards the area of the water that had trees to shade it, which was closer to the borders of the clans. "We can make it there pretty quick, and even take a dip or two on the way." She said, referring to her words of it being a bit on the hotter side today.
"That would be lovely. It's very warm today. While I like spending time in the sunshine. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing." Gardeniaaroma responded. "You lead the way?" The warrior suggested unsure of where the leader was referring too.
Oceaneyes nodded, then swept her tail and began to lead the way through the territory. The ground below their paws was a bit hotter. As they made their way towards the corner of the territory, soon a stream could be heard with soft flowing water.
