Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
hello friends ! i apologize for making this today instead of yesterday; i genuinely lost track of the dates. this was supposed to go live june 28, 2022. on june 28, 1969, the stonewall inn, a gay bar in new york city, was raided by the police. this was not the first time that queer people were targetted by the police. it was not even the first riot against the police. however, when a drag queen threw the first brick at stonewall, the most influential queer riot started. this event helped to further invigorate queer activists and it was a vital step in the fight for queer liberation in the united states. for more information on stonewall, visit this interactive monument !
this is a gathering for all of the LGBTQ cats on classic ! Pastelchaos let out a hum as he surveyed the scene. He and a group of unwitting accomplices had spent the afternoon decorating the gathering space. Now that everything had been set up, he had assigned each of his henchmen to an event. One stood in front of a bobbing for apples game, another in front of what looked to be the cat equivalent to ring toss. Still others (it was strange, how many cats Pastelchaos had been able to rope into this) sat in front of small collections of wares: flower necklaces and garlands, prey, rainbow rocks. Satisfied that everything looked to be in its right spot, the waved his tail. The show was about to start. He gave the signal, before darting up into the closest tree. Now hidden by the branches and leaves, he was able to glance down at himself. He frowned slightly, noticing the bow tie he had found was slightly off center. With a sigh, he quickly fixed it, before letting his gaze return to the gathering space below. Cats were starting to filter in, which meant that his entrance from the sky was close. Of course, this was about the campiest way that Pastelchaos could handle his title as Master of Ceremonies, but that was sort of the point. If she was being honest, she didn't really understand why she was there. Furthermore, she didn't understand why she had been stuck at the prey booth like some old cafeteria worker. Of course, she'd offered to be the Master of Ceremonies herself, it was the proper place for the polyamorous, bisexual she-cat, but the other cats who had been charged with preparations thought that that would be a bad place for her. Would any place be a good spot for her? This was doubtful, there were probably many cats who would be less than pleased to see her. Most assumed that she was dead, which, for a while, she almost was. Now, she was as roaring for action as ever, which was probably exactly why she'd been stuck on this dumb committee anyways. Like Pastelchaos, she had sins to atone for, and the cats around these parts felt very strongly about rehabilitation. Was that what this was, community service so that she could prove that she was reformed? Aspenflicker decided she didn't care. If nothing else, this got her an afternoon away from all of those damned kids. She'd dish out the food, offer the world a signature half-smile, and then as soon as the night was over, she could slip off. In that way, perhaps being stuck here was a good thing. After all, it would give her an oh-so-convinient excuse to fall back on when SwiftClan noticed she didn't return that night (she had business to attend to, business she was quite convinced her new clan wouldn't appreciate). Oh, you know, after clean up, it got too late to travel...
