Foxfable was gaining his sea legs, for better or for worse. Although the deputy still spent most of his days frantically doing anything he could, he seemed to be a little more relaxed the last few days. For the first time since his promotion, he had felt his shoulder relax slightly as he felt the soft ocean waves crash against his paws. This wasn't to say that he wasn't stressed, such an assertation would be objectively wrong, as Foxfable had been pretty perpetually stressed for most of his life, and he really didn't see that changing. But, his stress was ... tolerable today. The weather was getting warmer, things seemed to be going okay enough, maybe things were finally looking up for the small boy who had to grow up far too fast. (spoiler alert, it probably wasn't)

Daisyspots trotted along the beach with a soft smile on his face, it was a good day for a stroll, and after all the hard work he was upting in as a treasure hunter he needed a good little vacation. The sun soaked into his thick pale spotted coat, and reflected of his orange eyes. When he spotted Foxfable standing out at the waters edge he made a quick decision to say hello, he hadn't really spoken to the deputy but now was as good of a time as any. "Hello!" he purred trotting up to greet him.
He jumped a little bit at the sound of the other voice - the little thing was pretty easily startled, although he wouldn't admit that to anyone. He didn't hide it either, though, the deputy now fully embracing his boyish awkwardness.
"Oh! Daisyspots!" he greeted with a smile, motioning the other cat to join him. "I was wonderin' how long it would take before someone came out this way. With the sun out, I can't blame anyone for wanting a beach day," he meowed with a smile. "Treasure hunting treating you well?" he then asked, his tone as warm as if he was speaking to an old friend.
Daisyspots bowed his head respectfuly, "Sorry for startling you!" he mewed, his amusement was obvious, it wasn't something he was very good at hiding. "The treausre hunting is going well..." trailing off before he mewed again. "Oh! I did find a giant twoleg shovel!" the socially awkward tom rambled on for a second about how he struggled to get it out, before asking. "Enjoying the weather?" it was nice out, with the sea breeze fluffing up his thick coat.
"Oh, it's quite alright. I've always been a little skiddish," he meowed, his own voice playfully amused. As the tom continued, Foxfable couldn't help but offer a small smile. Daisyspot's rambling was oddly charming, and the deputy found himself letting out a loud purr. "A shovel? That's a better catch than I ever had when I was in your role. I'm sure we can put it right to use, incredible work, Daisyspots!" He beamed at the other, before offering a soft chuckle. "Ahh," he meowed, "the weather? It's been so nice," he admitted, letting his eyes move away from the other tom to the sea. "It's good to be able to come out to the water again without being harped at that I'm going to catch cold." His whiskers flicked in amusement, before letting out a sigh. "Care to join me? The water's actually not as cold as you'd expect this time of year, promise."
Daisyspots stared at the water then back to Foxfable, "If it is cold i will take back my apologie." He mewed roughly, though there was a hint of humor in his words. Carefully he tip toed to the water, he hadn't made much of a habit of swimming, it was something he usually did based off of necessity. "Do you swim often" He asked pausing at the waters edge, procrastinating entering the water that lapped gently just in front of his toes. The scent of the sea was relaxing and the sound of the waves familiar, all of the good treasure he found wound up here, at the beach, so it was a place he had grown fond of visiting.
"As you should," he meowed warmly, watching him with amusement as he tiptoed around the water. "It won't bite ya, I swear," he teased, taking a few steps deeper into the water. "A lot of people think I'm a little odd for liking the water so much, but I came across it innocently enough," he explained with a small shrug. "When I was younger, back before I came to SummerClan," it would have been easier just to say back when he lived in NightClan, but he didn't like admitting that's where he spent most of his childhood, "I was even sicker than I am now." As if on cue, the tom turned his head and let out a rickety cough. "It was a rough time for a long time, and we tried a lot of experimental techniques to build my stamina enough to be promoted to an apprentice. For a while, we weren't sure I was going to be strong enough, so we did everything we could to build my strength. Some of it worked, some of it didn't, but my favorite technique was always swimming. Apparently, aerobic activity is easier in the water, or something. I'm not exactly sure; I can't say I always paid much attention to the rationale behind what we did." He shrugged again. He spoke of his early childhood with a casual tone, as if he was completely unbothered by the fact that he had just danced around the fact that for much of his childhood, no one expected him to make it past childhood. "At first, I wasn't the biggest fan of it. We started while there was still a dusting of snow on the ground and the ice had only just melted. Now that was cold." He shivered at the memory of his first frosty experience, remembering the way the icy current had beaten at his legs with an acutely unexpected force. "But, after a while, I found that it was easier to just try to enjoy it as much as possible, and slowly, it grew on me. Now, any time I don't want to take my morning walk, I make sure to find time to go for a quick swim."
