Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"everything changes, nothing perishes" @dot For the tryout thread Constellationpaw and Puzzlemaker
Puzzlemaker wandered deeper away from the estate, his brown shaded pelt easily fading away in the dark shadows of the night. The crescent moon hanging above their heads dim and clouds casting a gloom to her light. He was be near indistinguishable if it weren't for the bright strike of white the followed along behind him. His own bright blue eyes turned to peer back towards the students marbled baby blues and sent a small nod to find him tracking behind him easily enough. The Minister would have held this meeting in his conference room but he disliked the idea of meeting his second choice for Intern in the same place he had met Porcelainpaw. There was an argument to be made that they should be judged on an even playing field, in the same place with the same questions. But he scoffed at such nonsense, they were different cats with different backgrounds, different personalities. Though there were similarities to be found across the two they were not enough for Puzzlemaker to deem the judgement they needed the same.
When he heard the rushing of the river he allowed his gait to slow, simply let himself breath and imagine the water washing away all the tension that had been building between his shoulder blades. The stress of the changes the clan had been going through and trying to find cats apt enough to learn what little medicine knowledge Windsweptashes knew and then make it their own and expand upon it was going slow. Hopefully he could pick a cat soon; time was running by them fast and soon they would need a dedicated medical staff.
The mostly white tom followed behind The Minister like a ghost effortlessly floating through the halls of the Estate. Constellationpaw kept a small distance between himself and the Minister. He recognized he was not on the same playing field anymore with his Father’s Spacevoyager’s death. He kept quiet, his ears perked forward and his marbled blue eyes trained on the Minsister waiting for any further instructions.
As Puzzlemaker perched on the crescent stone and the water of the river sprayed along his toes he motioned for the young cat to sit besides him. "Come, join me Constellationpaw." He urged before turning back to look out once more, letting his posture ease and his muscles to relax. "Tell me about yourself; tell me how you've been adjusting."
In truth Constellationpaw had been avoiding his siblings. Novapaw had become a Mother eager to keep the kits in line, his direct littermate Cometpaw and his half brother Meteorpaw had been butting heads. While his sister Gravitypaw seemed to have lost her spark when the truth of Constellationpaw and Cometpaw’s parentage came to surface. His sister also seemed to become restless when their grandparents, father, and uncle had all died during the Culling. The tom had determined it was dangerous to spend much time around her incase she fell to the same fate as their dear father.
The silence after the Minister asked the question had probably stretched for too long. A small smile crept onto Constellationpaw’s face. “I am the son of Spacevoyger. I’ve been focusing on my daily prayers to Selene. I’ve also been working on my latest Masterpiece in honor of Selene’s grace, and divine beauty.” The young tom happily admitted. Spending a chunk of his nights under the moonlight working on his masterpieces were something Constellationpaw had done since he was a little kit. No one had yet to stop the young tom. The tom had no clue what the berries and herbs were that he was messing with. He didn’t know if they were harmless or dripping in deadly poison. He always made care to wash his paws before he touched his food.
"Masterpieces?" Puzzlemaker wondered, curious despite himself. In the bigger picture of things he was a rather new addition to Moonclan, having come long after some of the leaders had passed or left and was not well cemented in the clan when the Culling happened. Objectively much of the clan around him were strangers and would most likely stay strangers unless he made a point to integrate himself among them. But that was not his place in this new clan he had built, it was hard to seem an omniscient all knowing presence when constantly around cats who could see you being less. Who could observe your faults and watch you express emotions and trials all the same as them. It was a lonely existence he was only just starting to realize.
So as Constellationpaw thought about his works and how no one had stopped him perhaps he thought that Puzzlemaker knew of them. But in truth he knew but a passing spoken reference to them when others had suggested the young toms name in relation to being the new Medic or the new Intern.
