A life of plenty was one that suited Lovelyfury to a T. Even as a Maverick, she barely had a care in the world. Simply because asking her to do something was immeasurably harder than asking someone else. Or even doing it yourself. And that was how she liked it. It was almost too easy to assert control sometimes, and now she could reap the rewards by herself. Lying next to the stream, grooming herself and preoccupied with something that got caught under her claw. Mist covered her but she hardly minded.
And could someone ruin her vaguely good mood? Absolutely. But she'd make sure to ruin theirs too.
Peachstar's ears perked up as he finally caught sight of Lovelyfury through the mist, after a half-hour search through the territory for her. "Ah, Lovelyfury. Glad I caught you," he said, padding up to her. "Don't panic! It's just me. Nothing bad, I just had a few...requests to make." He smiled warmly at her; then he remembered what kind of a cat Lovelyfury was, and he quickly wiped the smile off his face before she took it as an insult. Or tried to wipe it off before that, anyway. He already had enough insecurities--he didn't need any more, and especially not about his smile.

The whole point of this little secluded spot was to make sure no one found her. It was in everyone's best interests to let her do things at her own pace, and by herself. Her ears flicked as she heard something - or someone - approaching her through the grass. And her smile was nothing but teeth when it turned out to be Peachstar. Sure, he was new, but he should know about Lovelyfury. And seeing his expression drop made it clear to here he does.
Peachstar had far too many weaknesses, must be what happens when you get to be as old and crusty as him. "Well, if it isn't the loser that #ucks up every clan he steps into. But sure, try and request something of me, Bucktoothstar. " Her voice always felt an octave too high, somehow giving a little sweetness to every bitter word she spoke.
"I...hmm." Peachstar stopped in his tracks as he considered the she-cat's words. The thing about Clans was pretty true, but...buckteeth? Really? Had he been in possession of a jacked-up grill this whole time and never realised? Good grief, this was literally the exact opposite of what he needed today. "E-excuse me, Lovelyfury. One second, please." He padded a few tail-lengths further down the stream and examined his reflection in the surface of the water. The results were inconclusive, distorted by the ripples. Great. Now he could never smile with his mouth open again.
Peachstar padded back to Lovelyfury, tail drooping. "Sorry, I thought I--um, saw something in the water," he lied, very poorly "A-anyway, I was going to talk to you about your status as a maverick, but c-clearly you seem to be in a bad mood, so..."

Lovelyfury didn't even try to hide the wicked smile across her face as Peachstar excused himself to confirm her words. She watched his ears droop slightly, and didn't hold back in laughing at the tom's dismay. Not that she moved from her place next to the water, idly stretching out like she wasn't cackling a second ago. It was far too easy.
"Whatever you'd like to believe. I think we both know what you saw in the water." She stopped for a bit after that, letting her words sink in as she looked to her own reflection in the water. Even with the ripples, she saw what she wanted. Perfection. Though when the status system came up, her smile dropped. "Ah right, that. One of Glowstar's many awful decisions... So why do you wanna keep it around?" It could have been a light hearted question, had her tone not been so heavy. Perhaps she was curious about the new leader's thinking though?
